Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 4: 1-13is about 'the temptation in the wilderness'. It is about the test of faith.
The tested faith will result in righteousness untilperfection.
In the Old Testament, the faith of Abraham and Rahab were tested. In the New Testament, Jesus' faith is tested.
Jesus faces three kindsof temptationas follows:
- [Luke 4:1-4] The temptation of stone’s becoming bread.
- [Luke 4:5-8] The temptation about worship.
- [Luke 4:9-12] The temptation about the temple of God.
Devil tests Jesus to thwart the plan of Godwhich is the responsibility of Jesus, that we perish forever.
AD. 2. THE TEMPTATION ABOUT WORSHIP.
Luke 4:5-8
4:5. Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
4:6. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
4:7. "Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours."
4:8. And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’"
The plan of Godis Jesus comes a second time in the glory as King of kings and perfect Bridegroom, to make church of God become perfect bride who is ready to greet when He comes a second time in the glorious clouds.
Afterward, we go to the marriage supper of the Lamb of God (Revelation 19), Paradise/a thousand years kingdom of peace (Revelation 20), until we go to the New Jerusalem, the Kingdom of Heaven (Revelation 21-22).
Afterward, we sit with Him on His throne forever.
Revelation 3:21
3:21."To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
The plan of satanis to make Jesus as the king of the world by worshipping Satan/antichrist. It means He becomes same as antichrist.
In the past time, when Israel went out from Egypt, they worshipped the golden calf but they felt worshipping God.
In the last day, we have to be alert because there are many churces of God who confess to worship God, but they worship antichrist.
The signs are as follows:
- Looking for Jesus to get wordly things only.
John 6:15
6:15. Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.
- Refusing the cross, they do not want to suffer in the flesh when following Jesus, but only want to satisfy the lust of the flesh.
Matthew 16:21-23
16:21. From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many thingsfrom the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
16:22. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!"
16:23. But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
- Physically serving and ministering to God, but they refuse the power of godliness, that is refusing the power of true teaching word.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
3:1. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
3:2. For men will be lovers of themselves(1), lovers of money(2), boasters(3), proud(4), blasphemers(5), disobedient to parents(6), unthankful(7), unholy(8),
3:3. unloving(9), unforgiving(10), slanderers(11), without self–control(12), brutal(13, despisers of good(14),
3:4. traitors(15), headstrong(16), haughty(17), lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God(18),
3:5. having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
It makes us not experience the renewal of life, but become flesh and blood men with eighteen attitudes of flesh and the top is being disobedient and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Word.
It is same as being stamped by “666” and worship to antichrist, so one becomes same as satan.
The right worship is worship to Jesus as the King of kings and the Bridegroom that we can be perfect as Him.
Matthew 17:1-3
17:1. Now after six daysJesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
17:2. and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
17:3. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
The signs of the right worship are as follows:
- Going up on a high mountain.
Psalms 24:3-4
24:3. Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place?
24:4. He who has clean handsand a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworndeceitfully.
It means we worship because of the holiness of heart, deed (hand) and words.
We are purified by the true teaching Word.
- Six days= crucifixion/the tearing of flesh that the renewal of life happens.
The results of the worship to Jesus as the King of kings and the Bridegroom are as follows:
- The King makes a way in the seawhich means the way out from all problems; there is beautiful, successful and happy future.
Isaiah 43:15-17
43:15. I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King."
43:16. Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the seaAnd a path through the mighty waters,
43:17. Who brings forth the chariot and horse, The army and the power (They shall lie down together, they shall not rise; They are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick):
Although we are weak, if we have the right worship, God can open the way for us; there is beautiful, successful and happy future just in His time.
Although we are like smoking flax and a bruised reed, God is able to make us beautiful. We are also used in the revival at the last rain for the building of the perfect body of Christ.
- The King makes a way in the skyto pour out the rain of physical and spiritual blessing.
Zechariah 14:17-18
14:17. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain.
14:18. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
We experience physical and spiritual caring that we never become dry. We experience the satisfaction of Heaven.
- The King opens the gate of Paradise.
Luke 23:40-43
23:40. But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
23:41. "And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."
3:42. Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."
23:43. And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
In the Tabernacle, the gate of Paradise is the veil.
The torn veil refers to the tearing of fleshto experience the renewal of life from carnal men to spiritual ones.
The renewal of life starts from true word(this criminal confesses that he is wrong and Jesus is right) and word to confess our sin to God and others. We only remember Jesus and Heremembersus. And we will be moved from curse atmosphere to Paradise one. If Jesus comes a second time, we will be changed to become as glorious as Him, that is our mouth is not guilty in words and only worships 'Alleluia'.
Revelation 19:6-7
19:6. And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
19:7. "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."
We sit with Jesus forever.
God blesses us.
