Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 8 refers to the Golden Candlestick. In Luke 8, there are seven stories that refer to seven lamps on the Golden Candlestick and they are as follows:
  1. Many Women Minister to Jesus (Luke 8:1-3).
  2. The Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:4-15).
  3. The Parable of the Revealed Light (Luke 8:16-18).
  4. Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Come to Him (Luke 8:19-21).
  5. Wind and Wave Obey Jesus (Luke 8:22-25).
  6. A Demon-Possessed Man Healed (Luke 8:26-39).
  7. A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed (Luke 8:40-56).
We discuss the fifth story namely Wind and Wave Obey Jesus.
Luke 8:22-25
8:22. Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side of the lake." And they launched out.
8:23. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy.
8:24. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.
8:25. But He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, "Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!"

God invites His disciples to cross over to the other side of the lake.
It refers to the yearning of God that we can use our body to worship Him.

John 6:63
6:63. "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

The flesh profits nothing because it sins and perishes forever.

1 Peter 1:18-19
1:18. knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,
1:19.
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

God redeems us; the sinners who profit nothing, with His precious blood, so we can be precious in His sight, even become the temple of God.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17
3:16. Do you not know that you are the temple of Godand that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
3:17.
If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

After being redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus, our body becomes the precious temple of God in His sight and we will be defended so much by Him.
That is why; do not be careless with our body which is the temple of God! Do not defile the temple of God by physical deeds such as speeding on the street, getting drunk, smoking, and doing sin up to the peak of the sin.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
6:19. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
6:20. For you were bought at a price; therefore
glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

We have to use our body to glorify God through ministry that obtains favor before Him.

Luke 8:22
8:22. Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side of the lake." And they launched out.

The yearning of God for us is we cross over to the other side of the lake.
It means the yearning of God that we can worship and glorify Him until we reach the haven of peace, the kingdom of Heaven forever.

So, the ministry to God is as follows:
Luke 8:23-24
8:23. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came downon the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy.
8:24. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.

In ministering God, we have to encounter windstorm from Satan that has the power of death to drown and destroy us.
Drowning means we start laboring, being heavy laden, and full of tears, sorrow, and failure up to perishing forever.

But, God does not want that our lives sink and perish because of the windstorm from Satan.

How does God help us?
God blesses us.
