Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 8 refers to the Golden Candlestick. In Luke 8, there are seven stories that refer to seven lamps on the Golden Candlestick and they are as follows:

  1. Many Women Minister to Jesus (Luke 8:1-3).
  2. The Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:4-15).
  3. The Parable of the Revealed Light (Luke 8:16-18).
  4. Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Come to Him (Luke 8:19-21).
  5. Wind and Wave Obey Jesus (Luke 8:22-25).
  6. A Demon-Possessed Man Healed (Luke 8:26-39).
  7. A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed (Luke 8:40-56).

We are still discussing the third story, namely The Parable of the Revealed Light.

Luke 8:16-18

8:16. "No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.
8:17. "For
nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.
8:18. "Therefore
take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him."

The terms to become light are as follows.

  1. Nothing is secret that will not be revealed (verse 17).
  2. Taking heed how we hear (verse 18).

We discuss the first term, namely nothing is secret that will not be revealed.

There are three things that may not be hidden as follows:

  1. The sins.
    Proverbs 28:13
28:13. He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

The forms of sin are as follows:

    1. sinful deeds,
    2. sinful words or vain word,
    3. sinful thought,
    4. the thought of heart for doing sin.
      Romans 2:16
2:16. in the day when God will judge the secrets of menby Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.

Consequently, if one hides his sin, he will not prosper and have success, but dark future.

  2. The talent.
    Matthew 25:24-26, 30
25:24. "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25:25. 'And I was afraid, and went and
hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’
25:26. "But his lord answered and said to him, '
You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.
25:30. 'And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The talent refers to ministry and the gifts of Holy Spirit.
    The ground means flesh things.
The talent is hidden in the ground means as follows:

    1. One is not faithful in the service and ministry to God because of worldly or fleshly things, so he becomes lazy servant.

    2. One leaves service and ministry to God because of chasing worldly things, so he becomes wicked servant.
Being wicked means hitting others servant of God, namely envy, spite and gossip.

    Matthew 25:21
25:21. "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

If we become faithful and good servant, we will be happy. Vice versa, if we are lazy and wicked, we will not be happy but living in the ambience of darkness, fear and worry.

  3. Ourselves.
    Isaiah 28:15
28:15. Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made liesour refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves."

Hiding ourselves in lie is the same as making a covenant with death.
Consequently, we enter in the everlasting perdition and live in the darkness forever.

Isaiah 59:1-3
59:1. Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.
59:2. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And
your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.
59:3. For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.

If we hide our sins and talent or make lies our refuge, God will hide Himself from us.
Consequently, we are out of the hand of God but in the hand of Satan.

How do we become light?

  1. Confessing sins honestly to God and others.
    Proverbs 28:13
28:13. He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confessesand forsakes them will have mercy.

The blood of Jesus will forgive and cover all of our sins up to there is no remnant of our sin as if we had never sinned.
If we confess our sin, but doing it again, the forgiveness we receive will be cancelled.

    1 John 1:7, 9
1:7. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
    1:9. If
we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgiveus our sins and to cleanseus from all unrighteousness.

  2. Forsaking sins.
    Proverbs 28:13
28:13. He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakesthem will have mercy.

Forsaking sin means the blood of Jesus purifies all of our sins and pulls out the roots of sin, so we do not sin anymore.

If we confess and forsake our sin, we live in the light.
If all of us live in the light, we can have fellowship each other.

Proverbs 28:13
28:13. He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

If we confess and forsake our sins, we will have the mercy of God.
It is the same as becoming the apple of God's eye.
As the apple of God's eye, we are protected and hidden in the shadow of His wings, so Satan cannot touch our life.

Psalms 17:7-8
17:7. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.
17:8.
Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,

The results are as follows:

  1. The miraculous God's merciful hand or two wings of a great eagle is able to take care of our life that is small and powerless in the middle of difficulties of the world.
Two wings of a great eagle or God's merciful hand is able to protect us from temptations, sins, false teachings, persecution and disaster.
We are able to keep living in righteousness and peace, so everything becomes easy and light.

The miraculous merciful hand of God is able to finish all of our problems up to the impossible ones, wipe our tear and give happiness in our life.

  2. The miraculous God's merciful hand or two wings of a great eagle is able to evacuate us to the wilderness that is far from the eyes of serpent for three and half years.
    Revelation 12:13-14
12:13. Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.
12:14. But the woman was given
two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wildernessto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

We are taken care of by teaching Word and Holy Communion. We do not hope anyone or anything, but we only hope and totally surrender ourselves to God.
God's merciful hand is able to give the future that is successful and beautiful in His time surely.

  3. The miraculous God's merciful hand or two wings of a great eagle is able to give us extra power against the world in the last age.
We can be strong and of good courage.
    Isaiah 40:29-31

40:29. He gives powerto the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
40:30. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
40:31. But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

It means that we do not grumble, but keep on giving thanks although we are in the problem.
We keep being faithful and fervent in the ministry and obeying the Word of God until we are changed to become as glorious as God when He comes a second time.
God's hand lifts us up to the gorgeous clouds and we are with Him forever.

God blesses us.
