Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Overall, Luke 6 refers to righteousness, the Court of Tabernacle.
In the beginning, God creates perfect man as glorious as Him, according to His image. God puts him in Eden and he lives in happiness.
But human falls into sin, so he loses God's image, glory, holiness, and righteousness.
Consequently, they are cast out to the world, to live in curse and perish.
God is not willing if human perishes. So, He makes efforts to return human to His image, namely righteousness, holiness and glory.
God's effort to return us to His image is called
God's upbringing.
There are seven kinds of God’s upbringing as follows:
- Luke 6:1-5is about the body is brought up by God to enter in spiritual activity.
- Luke 6:12-16 is about the soul is brought up by God that we have spiritual positionin the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Luke 6:17-19 is about the spirit is brought up by God that our spiritual is not sickbut healthy until perfect.
- Luke 6:6-11is about the deed is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:20-26 is about the mind is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:27-45is about the heart is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:46-49is about life journey is brought up by God.
Ad. 4. the deed is brought up by God
Luke 6: 6-11
6:6. Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered.
6:7. So the scribesand Phariseeswatched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him.
6:8. But He knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, "Arise and stand here." And he arose and stood.
6:9. Then Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy?"
6:10. And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.
6:11. But they were filled with rage, and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.
God heals a man whose right hand is withered.
The right hand refers to our deed.
Our deed is brought up by God through true teaching Word to follow His examples that we experience Sabbath in the synagogue.
We will experience three kinds of Sabbath as follows:
- The small Sabbathmeans rest or peace.
- The big Sabbathmeans we enter a Thousand Years Kingdom of Peace.
- The eternal Sabbathmeans kingdom of Heaven or New Jerusalem. We are together with Jesus forever.
There are two groups in the synagogue that do not experience Sabbathand they are as follows:
- the group of son of God whose right hand is withered.
- the group of son of God who is like the Pharisees and scribes.
Tonight, we learn the second point.
Ad. 2: the group of son of God who is like the Pharisees and scribesThis group is the illustration of one who worships with hard heart or uses logic.
The practices are as follows:
- Watching Jesus for finding an accusation against Him.
Luke 6: 7
6:7. So the scribes and Pharisees watched Himclosely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him.
For now, it means that one hears true teaching Word but only to criticize and blame it.
If one looks for the mistake of the Word, he will surely blame others a lot, so he can not correct himself, but grumbles a lot, and never feels satisfaction and rest.
1 Corinthians 10: 5, 8-10
10:5. But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
10:8. Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty–three thousand fell;
10:9. nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;
10:10. nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
The consequence if we complain is being destroyed by the destroyer.
- Being filled with rage because of true teaching Word..
Luke 6: 11
6:11. But they were filled with rage, and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.
It means being angry to teaching Word that points to our sin.
It is the same as refusing the work of true teaching Word.
Consequently, we keep doing sin up to the peak of sin.
- Destroying Jesus.
Mark 3: 6
3:6. Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plottedwith the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
The Pharisees plot to destroy Jesus. It means one becomes the same as antichrist, receives the stamp of triple six and worships him.
It means that one does not change, but keeps eighteen attitudes of flesh.
2 Timothy 3: 1-5
3:1. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
3:2. For men will be lovers of themselves(1), lovers of money(2), boasters(3), proud(4), blasphemers(5), disobedient to parents(6), unthankful(7), unholy(8),
3:3. unloving(9), unforgiving(10), slanderers(11), without self–control(12), brutal(13, despisers of good(14),
3:4. traitors(15), headstrong(16), haughty(17), lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God(18),
3:5. having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Consequently, he is not satisfied, even perishes forever.
The right attitudes are as follows:
- By Holy Spirit's help, we hear the Word in the anointing of Holy Spiritthat we can think/understand true teaching Word.
Psalms 119: 15
119:15. I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.
- By Holy Spirit's help, we believe true teaching Word, so it becomes faith in our heart that we are justified, live in righteousness and stop doing sin.
Psalms 119: 11
119:11. Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!
- By Holy Spirit's help, we can practice to obey true teaching Wordthat we see wonderful things from Jesus.
Psalms 119: 18
119:18. Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous thingsfrom Your law.
We experience the biggest wonderful thingnamely the renewal life from carnal man who has hard heart to spiritual one like Jesus who has gentle heart.
Having gentle heart means that one can see his own mistake and confess it to God and others
If spiritual miracle happens, physical one will happen too to create something that does not exist yet and the impossible one becomes possible.
If Jesus comes a second time, we will be lifted up to the clouds and see Him face to face.
After that, we enter Paradise (the big Sabbath) and the Kingdom of Heaven or New Jerusalem (the eternal Sabbath).
God blesses us.
