Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 7:18-35is about water baptism.
Water baptism is the separation between old life and new one (Luke 7:18-23).
Water baptism is the renewal from unsteady stance to steadfastness (Luke 7:24), of clothes (Luke 7:25-26) and heart (Luke 7:27-30). Jesus comes through straight and obedient heart.
We discuss the next part.
Luke 7:31-357:31. And the Lord said, "To what then shall I liken the men of this generation, and what are they like?
7:32. "They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying: 'We played the flutefor you, And you did not dance; We mournedto you, And you did not weep.’
7:33. "For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.’
7:34. "The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
7:35. "But wisdom is justified by all her children."The world is like a market, the place for selling-buying.
In spiritual meaning, the market is the place to sell old life and buy the new one, namely
obedient heart.
There are two kinds of the preaching of the Word as follows:
- Mourning. It refers to the Old Testament that brings the voice of punishment and news about repentance.
John the Baptist tells about repentance and regret to sin which make grief (mourning), but he is considered demon-possessed.
- Playing the flute.
It refers to the New Testament.
Jesus tells about recovery and help that bring us to enter the feast of joy, but He is considered a glutton and a drunkard.
The lawyers and Pharisees keep old life and do not want to sell it, namely they do not believe and obey the preaching of the Word in the Old and New Testament (true teaching Word).
Consequently, the lawyers and Pharisees have to enter punishment up to the one in the hell forever.
All of us must sell the old life and buy the new one through believing and obeying the true teaching Word, so we will
receive the wisdom from the Heaven.
The usefulness of the wisdom from the Heaven is as follows:
- Making us endure against the attack of Satan the trinity.
Matthew 7:24-25
7:24. "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise manwho built his house on the rock:
7:25. "and the raindescended, the floodscame, and the windsblew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
The attack of Satan the trinity consists of the things as follows:
- the rain. It is the attack from Satan in the air, namely wicked and unclean spirit. It means sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage.
If we win over the rain, we can live in righteousness and holiness.
- the winds. It is the attack from false prophet, namely false teachings, bad gossip up to lie.
If we win over the winds, we can hold fast the true teaching Word and speak well and true.
- the floods.
It is the attack from antichrist, namely the power of mammon that makes us stingy and greedy; we cannot give, but rob the right of God (the tithes and special offerings) and others.
If we win over the floods, we can give for the work of God and others in need until we can give our whole life, so we belong to God forever
The heart that can endure all things is the strong base to receive God's blessing.
If our base is not strong, both we and the blessing will be destroyed and useless.
Zechariah 8:9-12
8:9. "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Let your hands be strong, You who have been hearing in these days These words by the mouth of the prophets, Who spoke in the day the foundation was laidFor the house of the LORD of hosts, That the temple might be built.
8:10. For before these days There were no wagesfor man nor any hire for beast; There was no peace from the enemy for whoever went out or came in; For I set all men, everyone, against his neighbor.
8:11. 'But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ says the LORD of hosts.
8:12. 'For the seed shall be prosperous, The vine shall give its fruit, The ground shall give her increase, And the heavens shall give their dew––I will cause the remnant of this people To possess all these.
God will give serenity and peacefulnesstoo, so everything becomes easy and light.
- Giving successful and beautiful future in His time.
Ecclesiastes 10:10
10:10. If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.
God gives successful future although we have limited ability. Although we have the ability, we will not succeed if we do not obey God.
Disobedient people will be hang between the sky and the earth like Absalom.
But, if we obey God, we will get success.
It is like Joseph. Although he was in the dungeon, God was able to give him success.
- Giving protection against antichrist.
Revelation 13:16-18
13:16. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,
13:17. and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
13:18. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
We will not be marked with 666 and persecuted by antichrist, but we are flown to the wilderness.
We are directly protected and taken care of by God.
In the days of antichrist, the wisdom of the world is not useful anymore, but only the one from the Heaven. It means that we are given two wings of a great eagle by which we may fly to the wilderness.
- We are built to become the house of God with seven pillars namely perfection.
Proverbs 9:1
9:1. Wisdomhas built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars;
James 3:17
3:17. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure(1), then peaceable(2), gentle(3), willing to yield(4), full of mercy and good fruits(5), without partiality(6)and without hypocrisy(7).
- Being pure. It means we are holy up to our heart.
- Being peaceable.
- Being gentle and not grumpy.
- Being willing to yield. It means that we do not comment too many.
- Being full of mercy and good fruits.
- Being without partiality. It means being honest and on God’s side only.
- Being without hypocrisy. It means that we are sincere.
We are built to become the house of God with seven pillars. We are purified and renewed until perfect like Jesus. We experience the biggest miracle. If we experience the biggest miracle, the physical ones will happen too, from nothing to something, from impossible to possible.
When Jesus comes a second time, we will be lifted up with Him forever.
God blesses us.
