Mark 16 refers to the resurrection of Jesus or the glorious light of God. Jesus was resurrected in the glorious body and lifted up to Heaven.
Mark 16:19-20
16:19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. The Gospel of Mark tells about Jesus as a Servant of God/the Messenger of God.
Philippians 2:7-82:7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to [the point of] death, even the death of the cross.
Jesus as the Servant of God who was sent by the Heavenly Father
to minister faithfully and to be obedient up to being dead upon the cross as a sin offering.
As we know from this lesson, in ministry as a servant of God, Jesus has never received physical reward, such as money, compliment, respect, occupation, etc. Even Jesus must sacrifice his body upon the cross.
Philippians 2:9-112:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. But all our sacrifices are not useless. God will lift us up to the Throne of God.
Mark 16:19-2016:19. So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with [them] and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.At the end of the gospel of Mark is also written about Jesus as a Servant who was faithful and obedient up to being dead upon the cross. He was resurrected and was received up into Heaven, until sat down at the right hand of God.
From the highest place, Jesus as the High Priest is able to do the things as follows:
- To call, choose, and send human to be His servant/messenger.
- To monitor/ observe all ministry movements of a life that ministers God. When we need something, God will also know about it. At the same time, Jesus accompanies and strengthens the servants of God with His miracle signs we need.
Genesis 12:1-312:1. Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.
12:2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
12:3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."In the Old Testament God first called and chose Abram to send him.
The requirement was that Abram must get out of his country, his family, and his father's house.
And the result is that Abram was blessed by God and he also became a blessing to others up to his descendant (the Israelites).
Galatians 3:13-143:13 Christhas redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed [is] everyone who hangs on a tree"),
3:14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.By the sacrifice of Christ who was dead and was cursed upon the cross, all the curse of sins has been removed. And the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so we are able to be called and be chosen.
If we, the Gentiles are willing to be called, be chosen, and be sent by Jesus as the High Priest, we must imitate Abram as follows;
- To get out of the father's house.
The old father's house means Satan.
John 8:44
8:44 "You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources], for he is a liar and the father of it.
Satan is the father of liar and murderer/hatred. If lies and hatred are allowed, that sin will be like yeast.
The more that sin is covered, it will grow up to the peak of sin i.e., eating-drinking sins and giving in marriage sins.
To get out of the father's house = to leave sin character (lies and hatred) up to the peak of sin.
The process is that we must be reborn by the new Father who is Jesus, through His side pierced with spear, out of which the blood and water gushed out.
The blood = to repent, to die to sins up to the peak of sin.
The water = water baptism.
Romans 6:4
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The true water baptism is that we who have already died to sin (to repent) and been buried with Jesus in the water baptism, and we are resurrected in a new life. The new life means living in righteousness, being delighted in worship and ministry to God.
- To get out of your family.
Meaning to leave flesh with all its influences, its desires, and its carnal desires. Youth is the period of having strong flesh desires and carnal desires (uncontrollable desires).
Romans 8:7-8
8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
The flesh desires and carnal desires make us disobedient to God's will.
To get out of family means to leave flesh influences and carnal desires, so we can be obedientto God, to pastor/shepherd, to parents. This is what acceptable to God.
- To get out of your country.
Meaning to be freed from lifestyle of the world and its influences that make us unfaithful in service and ministry.
James 4:4
4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
The world with all its business, joy, misery, and its problems make us unfaithful and become the enemy to God.
If we can be freed from world's influences, we can become faithful in service and ministry.
If all of us are sent by God with the signs of living in righteousness, faithfulness, and obedience; we do not need to seek the physical blessing because the eyes of the High Priest is always drawn to us. The High Priest always concerns, accompanies, cares, and understands our condition. He never leaves us.
Isaiah 49:14-1649:14 But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me."
49:15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.
49:16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.The position of the servant of God, who lives in righteousness, faithfulness, and obedience, is likea baby in hug ofthe High Priest's hand. The results are as follows:
- "I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; ": The mercy hand of the High Priest is able to preserve and bless our life, even though we are powerless. God's hand gives the beautiful future.
- "Your walls are continually before Me": The mercy hand of the High Priest protects us from sins, from accident and distress. The High Priest's hand is able to bring us through the wall of New Jerusalem, meaning we are always purified and renewed until we meet Jesus in the glorious clouds.
Whatever our conditions tonight, Let us return in the hug of the High Priest's hand, we return to live in righteousness, faithfulness, and obedience.
God blesses us.
