Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the Tabernacle, Luke 6 refers to
the Court(righteousness).
God creates human in His image to be perfect and as glorious as Him and puts him in Eden. There is happiness only, without tear. But humans fall into sin by snake’s trickery, so they lose God's image, righteousness, holiness and glory. They have Satan's image, so they are naked, and cast to the world to live in curse ambience.
God wants to return them to have image like before, namely His righteousness, holiness and glory (to return to Eden).
God's effort to return human to His righteousness, holiness and glory or His image is called
God's upbringing.
Luke 6 consists of 7 parts as follows:
- Luke 6:1-5is about the body is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:12-16 is about the soul is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:17-19 is about the spirit is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:6-11is about the deed is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:20-26 is about the mind is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:27-45is about the heart is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:46-49is about life journey is brought up by God.
They can be divided into two groups as follows.
First group: body, soul and spirit are brought up by God that we return to His image.
Second group: deed, mind, heart and life journey are brought up by God that we return to His example.
Luke 6:1-56:1. Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first that He went through the grainfields. And His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate them, rubbing them in their hands.
6:2. And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"
6:2. And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"
6:3. But Jesus answering them said, "Have you not even read this, what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
6:4. "how he went into the house of God, took and ate the showbread, and also gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat?"
6:5. And He said to them, "The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."
On Sabbath, Jesus brings His disciples to the grainfields. It means the body is brought up by God and brought to the grainfields, to Holy Spirit.
It means
the body is led by Holy Spirit to enter spiritual activity, especially hearing the Word of God.
In fact, our body is passive to enter spiritual activity.
Moreover, the body is passive to receive the Word.Luke 5:1
5:1. So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,
The main purpose of our worship to God is to listen the Word.
The process of hearing the Word of God is as follows:
- plucking the heads of grain= reading and hearing the Word,
- rubbing them in the hands= we get the revelation of the Word through a verse explains another verse in the Bible,
- eating the grain= eating and enjoying the Word of God which means to understand the Word, believe it, and it becomes faith in our heart. We are able to practice the Word.
Luke 6:26:2. And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"
In the grainfields, Jesus faces two laws as follows:
- the Law, namely one should not pluck the grain (working). If he violates, he must die.
- One will die if he or she does not eat.
The way out is as follows:
- As for God, Jesus has to die on the cross to fulfill the Law, that both Israel and gentiles can eat freely (in the anointing of Holy Spirit).
- As for us, we must have yearning to listen the Word of God. We yearn to listen, understand, believe and practice it.
There are a lot of laws in this world that hinder us to eat the Word, like the Law, nature law (for example: rain), law in the school (having quiz), et cetera.
Jesus has helped us by fulfilling the Law and we have to win over other laws too.
The result of eating the Word is we experience the wonderful things.
Psalms 119:18-20
119:18. Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.
119:19. I am a stranger in the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me.
119:20. My soul breaks with longing For Your judgments at all times.
We experience wondrous things in our life up to the biggest one namely
renewal of life.
We experience renewal of life from carnal men to spiritual ones.
Ecclesiastes7:29
7:29. Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes."We experience renewal of life, starting from being
upright, saying yes if yes and no if no. We are honest, starting from confessing our sin. Honest man
becomes the house of prayerand our prayer will be answered by God. Miracle happens to create something that does not exist yet to take care of our life.
Proverbs15:8
15:8. The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But the prayer of the upright is His delight. When Jesus comes a second time, we will be changed to become as glorious as Him.
God blesses us.
