Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the Tabernacle, Luke 6 refers to
the Courtor righteousness.
Genesis 1:261:26. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
God creates us in His image or as glorious as Him and puts us in Eden or Paradise, namely rest and bliss ambience. But human (Adam and Eve) falls into sin. They are cast to the world and they live in curse ambience.
Romans 3:23
3:23. for all have sinnedand fall short of the glory of God,
Since Adam and Eve fall into sin, all men in the world have sinned too and fallen short of God's image, namely righteousness and holiness. They get naked and live in curse, namely labor, heavy burden, difficulty and pain.
Naked man becomes the target of the beast.
Flesh men are controlled by three beasts (Satan, antichrist and false prophet) and stamped by 666.
The first six means the body is flesh, the second one means the soul is flesh and the third one means the spirit is flesh, that his life is same as antichrist.
God does not want if the man He created in His images becomes same as antichrist, gets the curse and perishes forever.
God wants to return him to become person who has righteousness, holiness and glory of God that he can return to Paradise up to enter to New Jerusalem.
God's effort to return human to become as glorious as Him is called
God's upbringing.
Overall, Luke 6 is divided to 7 parts as follows:
- Luke 6:1-5is about the body is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:12-16 is about the soul is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:17-19 is about the spirit is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:6-11is about the deed is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:20-26 is about the mind is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:27-45is about the heart is brought up by God,
- Luke 6:46-49is about life journey is brought up by God.
Luke 6:1-56:1. Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first that He went through the grainfields. And His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate them, rubbing them in their hands.
6:2. And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"
6:2. And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?"
6:3. But Jesus answering them said, "Have you not even read this, what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
6:4. "how he went into the house of God, took and ate the showbread, and also gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat?"
6:5. And He said to them, "The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."
The body is brought up by God to grainfields, the field of God. It happens on the Sabbath.
The meanings of the Sabbath are as follows:
- In the Old Testament, the meanings of Sabbath for Israelites are as follows:
- The rest on the seventh day.
Exodus 20:8-11
20:8. " Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
20:9. Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
20:10. but the seventh day is the Sabbathof the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
20:11. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
The emphasis is on thetime.
- Rest in the land of Canaan.
Hebrews 3:7-11
3:7. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice,
3:8. Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness,
3:9. Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years.
3:10. Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, 'They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’
3:11. So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.’"
The land of Canaan is full of milk and honey.
Israelites get the rest (Sabbath) in the land of Canaan.
The emphasis is on theplace.
- Rest in the Holy Spirit.
This is Sabbath for the church of God, for all of us.It cannot be limited by time and place. We can experience the rest of Holy Spirit everywhere, every time and in all situations.
There are three kinds of Sabbath as follows:
- Small Sabbath, namely rest in Holy Spirit.
- Big Sabbath, namely A Thousand Years Kingdom of Peace= Paradise that will come.
- Eternal Sabbath, namely New Jerusalem, Canaan.
There are two conflicting things in Luke 6:1-5. In time of Sabbath, one should not do any activities, but God brings His disciples to pluck the heads of grain in the field which is full of activities. Two conflicting things are used by Jesus to become
useful activityuntil now.
John 5:16-175:16. For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath.
5:17. But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."Jesus works like Father does. We work like Jesus does, namely
to minister in the rest of Holy Spirit ambience. It means we serve in peace, and serenity, there is no envy, revenge, and egoism.
The target of Jesus to be chosen to work in His field is the people who labor and are heavy laden (in the curse ambience and doing sin).
Matthew 11:28
11:28. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Because God calls sinners, there is no reason for us not to minister.
The process to minister God like Jesus who works is as follows:
- Learning from Jesus.
Matthew 11:29
11:29. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentleand lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
We learn to Jesus, namely learn to the Word of God and the cross to be gentle and lowly in heart.
Being lowly in heartis the ability to confess sin to God and others. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore but repent.
Being gentleis the ability to forgive other's sin and forget it.
When we are gentle and lowly in heart, the blood of Jesus is active to clean us from sin that we can live in righteousnessagain. If we live in righteousness, we can minister God and become instrument of righteousness.
The result iswe experience rest and peace.
- Taking yoke of Jesus.
Matthew 11:30
11:30. "For My yoke is easyand My burden is light."
We minister God in peace. If we minister in peace, our ministry becomes easy and light and so does our life.
Romans 16:20
16:20. And the God of peacewill crush Satanunder your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
The results are as follows:
- All our problems are finished by God up to the impossible one. We win over Satan.
- We are returned to God's images.
We become the bride of God who is ready to greet when Jesus comes a second time.
I Thessalonians 5:23-24
5:23. Now may the God of peaceHimself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
5:24. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
God will change our life. God is faithful to fulfill His promise.
God blesses us.
