To coincide with Blessing of Marriage ServicePeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 9:22-27 is about our following to Jesus.
Luke 9:22 is about the direction of our following to Jesus, namely going to New Jerusalem.
Luke 9:23-6 is about the requirements of our following to Jesus.
The requirements of our following to Jesus are as follows:
- We must deny ourselves and take up our cross (verse 23).
- We must willingly lose our life because of Jesus (verse 24).
- We must be free from the influence of the world (verse 25).
- We are not ashamed and afraid because of Jesus and His words (verse 26).
Luke 9:279:27. "But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste deathtill they see the kingdom of God."
'
We shall not taste death' does not mean we will not die, but we are not controlled by the death. It refers to the perfect body of Christ or the bride of Heaven. It is the same as Jesus, the Head and the Bridegroom, who is not controlled by the death. Although Jesus died and was buried for three days, but He was risen in the body of glory that cannot perish. We are as the body of Christ, so we are not controlled by the death and will not perish.
1 Corinthians 15:51-5215:51. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed--15:52. in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.God tells His secret to us through Paul the apostle, namely we shall not all sleep. It means some Christians die and some of them will live until Jesus comes a second time.
Being dead or alive is not important, but the important one is we must hear and obey the trumpet sound (the true teaching word, the shepherding word that is told continuously) as long as we live in the world, to experience the renewal of life continuously until we become perfect, as glorious as God.
Every Christian marriage must experience the renewal, so we can achieve the marriage supper of the Lamb of God, spiritual marriage, or perfect marriage with Jesus.
The shepherding word leads us in the steps of renewing until we become perfect, as glorious as God.
The renewal processes are as follows:
- The renewal in the word of God.
1 Peter 1:23-25
1:23. having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of Godwhich lives and abides forever,
1:24. because "All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away,
1:25. But the word of the LORD endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
We experience the renewal in the word of God through perseverance in committing bible study service and Holy Communion.
If we eat the word, we will experience the renewal, namely we obeyGod.
The practices of obeying God are as follows:
- Wife submits to her own husband in everything.
Ephesians 5:22-24
5:22. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
5:23. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
5:24. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Being submissive means keeping silent, correcting her life, not saying negative comment too much, and not teaching or having authority over a man.
If the wife submits to her own husband, she is putting the husband as her head.
- Husband loves his wife like he loves himself and do not do bitterly toward her.
Ephesians 5:25
5:25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
It is the same as putting the wife as the body.
- Children obey the parents and ease their burden.
1 Peter 3:5-7
3:5. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissiveto their own husbands,
3:6. as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.
3:7. Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
If our positions as the husband, wife and children are correct, and we eat the word, we will become the house of prayer. Our prayer is answered by God. We experience the opening of the doors, starting from the world (the door of economic, future, et cetera) until the door of heaven will be opened for us.
- The renewal in the Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:5
3:5. not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
We experience the renewal in the Holy Spirit through perseverance in committing general service.
The practiceof experiencing the renewal of Holy Spirit is we minister God in holiness, faithfulness, and fervency. It is like a flame of fire.
Revelation 1:14
1:14. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
Hebrews 1:7
1:7. And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire."
God's eyes are like a flame of fire too.
It means the minister of God who is holy, faithful, and fervent in spirit is God's eyes. We are protected by God from problems both physically and spiritually. We are always taken care of, and protected earnestly until antichrist and God's punishment are unable to touch us.
Romans 1:27
1:27. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
If we do not minister faithfully and fervently, we are surely burned in our lust, so we fall into sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage.
- The renewal in the love of God.
Zephaniah 3:17
3:17. The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
We experience the renewal in the love of God through perseverance in committing prayer service.
The practiceof being renewed by the love of God is we can love one another.
Romans 13:8
13:8. Owe no one anythingexcept to love one another, for he who loves anotherhas fulfilled the law.
John 19:30
19:30. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Loving one another means we owe nothing, especially we do not have sin debt.
Jesus has struggled first until the death on the cross for us to pay our sin debt. We must finish our sin debt through making peace or confessing and forgiving one another. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore. We have to forget other's sin too.
We are renewed continuously until we are with God, entering A Thousand Years Kingdom of Peace or Paradise until the eternal kingdom of Heaven.
Revelation 21:5-6
21:5. Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
21:6. And He said to me, "It is done!I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
'It is done' means it is finished. God has finished all of our sins. We are purified, so we can be with Him forever.
God blesses us.
