Luke 1:5-25 is about
the birth tidings of John the Baptist.
Luke 1:8-131:8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division,
1:9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
1:10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.
1:11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
1:12 And when Zacharias saw [him], he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.1:13 But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. The birth tidings of John the Baptist was entrusted to Zacharias who burnt the incense.
Meaning the angel tidings was entrusted to a life that worships God.
The angel refers to a priest/ a pastor.
The angel also refers to the Holy Spirit.
So,
the angel tidings is the shepherding Word in the ointment of the Holy Spirit which is entrusted to a life that worships God.
The shepherding Word in the ointment of the Holy Spiritis able to wipe out all our fears.
We often scare of something so we do not fear of God even become against Him = being disobedient to Word of God, doing sins including lying. The effect of being against God is to suffer in the world up to destruction.
The shepherding Word in the ointment of Holy Spirit is able to change the fear of something to be
fear of God.
Tonight, let us be the lives who fear of God.
The practices of fear of God are as follows:
- To hate evil, pride, arrogance, evil way, up to hate lying (the perverse mouth).
Proverbs 8:13
8:13 The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.
Lying = being straight forward in the hand of satan, because satan is the father of liar.
People who fear of God will live in the righteousness.
- To serve God faithfully and sincerely.
Joshua 24:14
24:14 "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!
Being sincere =not seeking for physical advantage
Let us be the faithful and sincere in service even willing to sacrifice anything to service and minister God.
- To hold on to His will, be obedient to the shepherding Word in the ointment of the Holy Spirit whatever the risks that we must faced.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
12:13. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all.
Disobedience has already happened in the days of Noah. From all over the world, there were only 8 people who were obedient and were saved. The rest of them were disobedient and perished by floodwaters.
The world at the end of time will return as in the days of Noah, we must be careful.
1 Peter 3:20-21
3:20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while [the] ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
3:21. There is also an antitype which now saves usbaptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
In the days of Noah, human’s hearts tend to evil so they were disobedient to His Word and were perished in the floodwaters.
Noah and his family entered the ark and were saved from the floodwaters. There were only 8 people who survived, meaning there are only few who are saved.
Now, the ark of Noah refers to the true water baptism.
The requirement to be in the true water baptism is to die from sins, to repent.
The practice of water baptism is to be buried in the water baptism and be revived to receive new life.
Romans 6:2-4
6:2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
6:3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The New life is a person who has good conscience that is an obedient heart.
Genesis 6:8
6:8. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Noah and his family were obedient to God so they were saved and they lived in the grace of the Lord.
If we are willing to be obedient, we will also live in the grace of the Lord.
The results are as follow:
- The grace of the Lord saved Noah and his family from the flood = the salvation to the bride(8 people = 4 couple). Meaning as follows:
- The grace of the Lord is able to save us from impossible temptations.
- The grace of the Lord saves us from all sins.
- The grace of the Lord gives us success = the success of the bride.
Genesis 39:21,23
39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
39:23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything [that was] under [Joseph's] authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made [it] prosper.
Joseph was already in the dungeon, it was impossibility, he could do nothing.
Because Joseph who is fear of the Lord (hating sins, worshiping faithfully, being sincere and obedience), the hand of His grace gives success.
- The perfection of the bride.
Revelation 22:20-21
22:20. He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen.
Meaning the grace of the Lord purifies and changes our lives up to being perfect like Jesus, becoming the bride who welcomes the Jesus’ second coming in the glorious cloud.
God blesses us.
