Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Overall, Luke 6 refers to righteousness, the Court of Tabernacle.
The sinner has lost God's glory, holiness and righteousness. One of his characteristics is every intent of the thoughts of his heart is only evil and unclean. So, his deeds are wicked and unclean up to the peak of sin, namely sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage, so he makes the heart of God grieved, the one of parents sore, and the one of shepherd lamented.
Consequently, human lives in curse and perishes forever.
God wants to
bring upthe naked human, so he returns to His images, namely righteousness, holiness and glory.
They return to Paradise, A Thousand years Kingdom of Peace and enter New Jerusalem, eternal Kingdom of Heaven forever.
In Luke 6,
there are seven kinds of God’s upbringing as follows:
- Luke 6:1-5is about the body is brought up by God to enter in spiritual activity.
- Luke 6:12-16 is about the soul is brought up by God that we have spiritual positionin the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Luke 6:17-19 is about the spirit is brought up by God that our spiritual is not sickbut healthy until perfect.
- Luke 6:6-11is about the deed is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:20-26 is about the mind is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:27-45is about the heart is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:46-49is about life journey is brought up by God.
Ad. 6 [Luke 6:27-45]. the heart is brought up by GodGod brings up our heart that we
imitateHis gentle heart.
The practices are as follows:
- [Luke 6:27-36] loving others up to enemy. It is the practice of the loving heart of God the Father.
- [Luke 6:37-42] do not judge others. It is the practice of the merciful heart of Son of God.
- [Luke 6:43-45] to result in good/sweet word.
We discuss the third point.
ad. 3. to result in good/sweet word.
Luke 6:43-456:43. "For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
6:44. "For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
6:45. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
To result in good/sweet word like sweet wine is the heart of Holy Spirit.
Song of Solomon7:9
7:9. And the roof of your mouth like the best wine. THE SHULAMITE The wine goes downsmoothly for my beloved, Moving gently the lips of sleepers. The good/sweet word goes down to two places as follows:
- going down to others.
It refers to good words that become blessing for others and establish the faith of others.
Ephesians 4:29
4:29. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
The good word is also the word to edify the perfect body of Christ.
Others are started from household. Do not make quarrel, et cetera, but unite the perfect body of Christ.
- going down to sleeper.
Matthew 8:23-27
8:23. Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him.
8:24. And suddenlya great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.
8:25. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
8:26. But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
8:27. So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"
The sleeper is Jesus.
Jesus is sleeping in a boat that is hit by great tempest and waves, so it almost drowns.
The wind and waves that hit our life mean temptations in the household, economy, study, future or sins.
The wind and waves come suddenly means that they come unexpectedly, so many people drown.
When we fight against the sudden temptation, the important thing is Jesus must be in the boat.
Do not take care of the temptation, but we have to make sure that Jesus is in our life boat.
It means that we have to have faithfulness and fervency in the ministry to God.
The matter of our life boat sinks or not is determined by whether Jesus is in our life boat or notand notby big or small waves.
As long as Jesus is in our life boat, the wind and waves will not drown our life.
Be careful! If we begin feeling lazy to worship, unfaithful and not fervent in ministry, the water starts entering our life boat and soon or later the boat will sink.
Jesus is asleep means as follows:
- Jesus gives example about strong faith.
The faith pattern from Jesus is serenity.
Being calm means we trust Jesus earnestly. Do not make a lot of gossips or snitch to others when we are against the temptation.
A lot of men are drowned in temptation because they are not calm, not because of the temptation.
Not being calm means one becomes doubtful.
The biggest wave which drowns our life comes from inside, namelythe doubt.
It means one has little faith, even does not believe God.
- Jesus is busy to bring up our heart, so we can imitate His heart.
God brings up our spiritual life that we are well pleasing to Him.
If we have not been helped by God, do not pay attention to the temptation, but ourselves, so we are well pleasing to Him.
If we have already had the heart that pleases God, that is the time for God's helping, so we receive double blessing for our spiritual and physical life.
If we are not helped instantly, it is the kindness of God.
If God helps us without paying attention to our spiritual life, we receive physical blessing, but our spiritual life perishes and everything becomes useless.
- Jesus dies, rises and ascends to the Heaven to become the High Priest who sits at the right hand of the throne of God the Father.
Hebrews 2:14-15,17
2:14. Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroyhim who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
2:15. and releasethose who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
2:17. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Jesus dies, rises and ascends to the Heaven to become the High Priest, destroy the death and release us from it.
He can help us from all temptations even the impossible ones.
If God helps us, it is easier than turning the palm of the hand.
Our attitudes when we are against the waves of temptation are as follows:
- being silent and calm.
Mark 4:39
4:39. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Being silent means we correct ourselves through the sharpness of the Word of God.
If we find sin, we have to confess it to God and others. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore.
Being calmmeans we control ourselves. It means there is no more the lust of flesh which contradicts the Word.
The lust of flesh is the thing which makes temptation come.
Following the lust of flesh that contradicts the Word is the same as inviting the wind and waves or Satan to swallow us.
Being calm means self-control, namely not hoping in others, so we can pray.
1 Peter 4:7
4:7. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
Being silent and calm means we repent and pray. It is the same as stretching out both hands to God.
- Calling the name of Jesus.
Matthew 8:25
8:25. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
If our prayer stirs up the heart of God to help us, namely prayer with silence and calmness (stretching out our hand to God), faith (trusting God and no doubt), and calling Jesus' name, God will make the wind and waves calm and everything becomes easy and light.
There was a great calm means physical miracle, namely all problems even the impossible ones are finished by God, there is beautiful, successful and happy future.
The spiritual miracle happens too, namely we experience life renewal that we trust and obey God, stretch out hand to Him and He holds us.
Matthew 8:26-278:26. But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
8:27. So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"The wind and the sea which do not have soul or fish swallowing Jonah do not have mind and they can obey God.
We as the highest creation must obey God.
Until His second coming, we are changed to become as perfect and glorious as God. We are lifted up to the gorgeous clouds, and meet Jesus to enter A Thousand Years Kingdom of Peace and the Kingdom of Heaven. We are guided to enter the haven of peace and be with Him forever.
God blesses us.
