Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 9:49-50
9:49. Now John answered and said, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us."
9:50. But Jesus said to him, "Do not forbid him, for he who is not against us is on our side."The disciples ministered with worldly system, namely ministering with envy, strife, and the groups, so they caused the division of the body of Christ.
The right thing is we minister to God with heavenly system, namely ministering in the fellowship or unity in the name of the Lord which is based on true teaching word.
The usefulness of the power of Jesus' name is as follows:
- Defeating Satan the trinity, namely Satan, antichrist, and false prophet [Philippians 2:8-10].
- Performing miracle.
ad. 2.
Performing Miracle.
Acts 3:1-93:1. Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
3:2. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;
3:3. who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.
3:4. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us."
3:5. So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
3:6. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."
3:7. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
3:8. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God.
3:9. And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
The power of Jesus' name performs miracle, namely healing a certain man lame from his mother's womb.
The meanings of being lame are as follows:
- Physically, it refers to physical disease and problems, the problems which are never solved, and impossible problem.
- Spiritually, it means as follows:
- Being inactive. It means one becomes unfaithful in the ministry, even leaving it.
It is the same as a paralytic who was laid at the gate of the temple, but he never entered it.
- Looking for physical things only and depending on it, so he just asks alms, but he cannot give(becoming stingy and greedy).
Stinginess means one cannot give for others and God (time, power, mind, et cetera).
Greediness means one robs God's, namely the tithes and special offerings up to being unable to worship God.
- Becoming the burden for others and parents.
A son cannot become blessing for others if he cannot be arranged or advised.
- The paralytic was laid on a pillow. It means one lives in uncleanness, sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse), and marrying-giving in marriage (sexual sin with all of its kinds).
Consequently, his life is not beautiful. He is outside the Beautiful gate and his future is dark. If it continues, he will enter the uncleanness up to perishing forever.
A paralytic can be helped with the power of Jesus' name only.
Acts 3:6
3:6. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."
The term to experience the miracle in the name of Jesus is we must have spiritual gold and silver.
The meanings of spiritual gold and silver are as follows:
- The silver means redemption or the freedom from sins by the blood of Jesus.
1 Peter 1:18-19
1:18. knowing that you were not redeemedwith corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,
1:19. but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
The process to be released from sin by the blood of Jesus is confessing sin earnestly and honestly to God and others, so we experience the redemption of sin by the blood of Jesus.
The blood of Jesus covers our sins until there is no remnant of sin anymore as if we never do such sins.
We are set free from sin. We do not repeat the sin; even we hate it, starting from lie and hatred.
- The gold means pure or tested faith.
1 Peter 1:6-7
1:6. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
1:7. that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
Although we have not seen God's help, we must keep believing and hoping God or loving Him.
For example, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
- The gold is the divine nature, namely being obedient until our flesh does not sound anymore.
We obey the word of God though it is not in line with our mind. It is like a paralytic is ordered to walk.
Acts 3:6-7
3:6. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."
3:7. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
The results are as follows:
- Experiencing spiritual healing, namely the renewal of life from carnal men to spiritual ones like Jesus.
[Acts 3:8]
The practice is we can enter the temple.
It means as follows:
- Being faithful and fervent in spirit (delightful) in ministering to God.
Isaiah 5:7
5:7. For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.
Jesus is also delightful to the congregation though we still have many weaknesses and infirmities.
- One is able to return the tithes to God (become honest).
Genesis 28:22
28:22. "And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You."
If we can enter the temple or become obedient, faithful, and honest, God will open the door of heaven for us.
- Physical miracle happens too.
Genesis 28:16-21
28:16. Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it."
28:17. And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!"
28:18. Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it.
28:19. And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city had been Luz previously.
28:20. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,
28:21. "so that I come back to my father's house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God.
God opens the doors in the world for us:
- The miraculous door of caring and protection from God.
- The door of helping, physical healing, and the impossible thing becomes possible.
- The door of lifting up, namely successful and beautiful future.
If Jesus comes a second time, we will be lifted up to the glorious clouds and we are with Him forever.
God blesses us.
