Speaker: Deacon. YoupriArdiantoroMark 16:1-416:1. Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary [the mother] of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
16:2 Dan Very early in the morning, on the first [day] of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
16:3 And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?"
16:4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away for it was very large. The stone had been rolled awaymeans the power of Jesus' resurrection is able to destroy our hard heart, so we can have a gentle heart.
2 kinds of power that can soften our heart are as follows:- The Power of Jesus' resurrection.
- The Power of the Word that is harder than a hammer or that is sharper than any two edged sword.
Jeremiah 23:29
23:29 "[Is] not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "And like a hammer [that] breaks the rock in pieces?
The practice of being hard-hearted is unwillingnessto repent or keeping sins.
Romans 2:52:5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
Romans 2:42:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
Actually God has already given His mercy to us to repent. If we do not repent, we will not be saved.
Matthew 18:318:3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.Unwillingness to repent= Putting oneself to the hell.
Who should repent?- First, People who preach His Word.
- People who listen to His Word.
3 levels of God's work to destroy our hard heart so we can repent:
- The Word tells us what is wrong.
2 Timothy 4:1-2
4:1. I charge [you] therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season [and] out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
2 kinds of attitude to accept the Word is as follows:
- The positive attitude: willingness to accept the Word and repent.
Jonah 3:8
3:8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
Jonah 4:11
4:11 "And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left and much livestock?"
Jonah 3:10
3:10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
The People of Nineveh were willing to accept the Word and repented.
- The negative attitude is rejecting the Word.
The patience of God is like rubber which can be stretched. But someday the patience of God will be finished and only punishment that is left.
- The Word warnings.
1 Timothy 5:20
5:20 Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.
This warning is hard and seems to embarrass. The purpose of the Word's warning is for helping us to be able to repent.
Mark 3:1-3
3:1. And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.
3:2 So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
3:3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, "Step forward."
The attitude of accepting the warning is stepping forward in the middle.
Stepping forward in the middle is the position of the priest that is ministering.
Mark 3:5
3:5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched [it] out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.
If we want to be obedient to the Word, willing to step forward in the middle, we will have a miracle in our life.
Isaiah 28:15
28:15 Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made lies our refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves."
Jeremiah 17:23, 27
17:23 "But they did not obey nor incline their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear nor receive instruction.
17:27 "But if you will not heed Me to hallow the Sabbath day, such as not carrying a burden when entering the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched."
- Chastens.
Revelation 3:19
3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
If we always maintain sins, cannot be reminded and rebuked by the Word, There will be a consequence that must be certified. This chastening is not for destroying us, but to make us repent.
Luke 15:13, 17-20
15:13 "And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.
15:17 "But when he came to himself, he said, `How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,
15:19 "and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."'
15:20 "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
Actually we do not have to fall into punishment. It is better to repent when the Word points to our sins.
1 John 3:8
3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Even in the chastening, God still loves us. Never become disappointed and desperate.
Isaiah 6:3-86:3 And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy [is] the LORD of hosts; The whole earth [is] full of His glory!"
6:4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
6:5. So I said: "Woe [is] me, for I am undone! Because I [am] a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts."6:6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal [which] he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
6:7 And he touched my mouth [with it], and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged. And he touched my mouth [with it], and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.
6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."After our life is sanctified by the Word and we can repent,
we will be employed by God.Isaiah 49:3-449:3 "And He said to me, `You [are] My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.'
49:4 Then I said, `I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward [is] with the LORD, And my work with my God.'The results of ministering God are as follows:- Our rights and rewards are in the hand of God, andGod never deceives us; there will be a reward of preservation, and a reward of protection.
- God makes our life beautiful in His time.
Genesis 37:3
37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of [many] colors.
The beauty of our life is determined by our ministry. God will make everything beautiful to a life who wants to be sanctified and repent.
Matthew 7:21-23
7:21. "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
7:22 "Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
7:23 "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
Let us use our youth life to be employed/ ministered by God.
God blesses us.
