Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Overall, Luke 6 refers to righteousness, the Court of Tabernacle.
In the beginning, God creates perfect man as glorious as Him, according to His image. God puts him in Eden and he lives in happiness.
But human falls into sin, so he loses God's image, glory, holiness, and righteousness.
Consequently, they are cast out to the world, to live in curse and perish.
God is not willing if human perishes. So, He makes efforts to return human to His image, namely righteousness, holiness and glory.
God's effort to return us to His image is called
God's upbringing.
There are seven kinds of God’s upbringing as follows:
- Luke 6:1-5is about the body is brought up by God to enter in spiritual activity.
- Luke 6:12-16 is about the soul is brought up by God that we have spiritual positionin the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Luke 6:17-19 is about the spirit is brought up by God that our spiritual is not sickbut healthy until perfect.
- Luke 6:6-11is about the deed is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:20-26 is about the mind is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:27-45is about the heart is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:46-49is about life journey is brought up by God.
Ad. 5. the mind is brought up by God
Luke 6:20-236:20. Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God.
6:21. Blessed are you who hungernow, For you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weepnow, For you shall laugh.
6:22. Blessed are you when men hateyou, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.
6:23. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets. We are blessed in four things, namely when we are poor, hungry, weeping and hated for the Son of Man. These four things refer to four points, namely
the cross.
God brings up our mind that we have
the mind of the cross.
If we have the mind of the cross, we can experience heavenly happiness that cannot be influenced by anything in this world.
We are happy in the world up to eternal happiness in Heaven.
The daily practices of one who has the mind of the cross are as follows:
- Repenting.
1 Peter 4:1-2
4:1. Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
4:2. that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
Repentingmeans we stop doing sin and obey God's will that we live in righteousness.
Sin makes us suffer, but if we repent, we can be happy.
Jeremiah 9:5-6
9:5. Everyone will deceive his neighbor, And will not speak the truth; They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves to commit iniquity.
9:6. Your dwelling place is in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to know Me," says the LORD.
The beginning of repenting is not lying. Christian life who lies will tend to cover sin with sin, so he does not want to repent up to cannot repent.
So, he is the same as Satan and perishes forever.
- Controlling ourselves.
1 Peter 4:7, 10
4:7. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be seriousand watchful in your prayers.
4:10. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
We can control ourselves by controlling flesh with all its lust, carnal desire and emotion, so that we can do the things as follows:
- Ministering God faithfully and fervently according to the ministry and the gift that God gives to us.
- Being calm. It means that we do not hope others but God that we can pray.
We can become the house of prayer. We pray to God and He answers or helps us.
If we do not have the mind of the cross, our life will become the den of thieves. We cannot do correctly, but only do sin up to the peak of sin, namely sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage.
So we suffer until perish forever.
- Experiencing the sprinkling of the blood.
1 Peter 4:12-14
4:12. Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trialwhich is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
4:13. but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
4:14. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
We are willing to experience the sprinkling of the blood, namely fiery trial.
We are willing to suffer in the flesh because of the true teaching and ministry.
God allows us to experience fiery trialor suffering in the flesh without any sin that we have the Spirit of glory.
The functions of the Spirit of glory are as follow:
- Giving happiness of Heavenin the middle of suffering anywhere, anytime, and in any circumstances.
- Returning us to the glory, holiness and happiness, namely changing us from carnal men to glorious ones like Jesus.
It starts from seeing God only.
We just worship, surrender everything and totally hope in God.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
4:16. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
4:17. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
4:18. while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The results are as follows:
- We experience peace.
Numbers 6:26
6:26. The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." '
We experience calmness that everything becomes easy and light.
If we are allowed to experience anything, it means that we are given opportunity to look the face of God and totally hope to Him.
- God gives mercy.
Numbers 6:25
6:25. The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;
God gives assistance, makes the impossible thing become possible, and creates something that does not exist yet.
God changes us until we are as glorious as Him and we have His image.
We are ready to greet God's second coming, enter the marriage supper of the Lamb, and get the happiness of Paradise up to New Jerusalem forever.
God blesses us.
