Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 11:1-13 is about "The Model Prayer". It
consists of the parts as follows:
- Luke 11:1 is about we ask God to teach us how to pray.
- Luke 11:2-4 is about the prayer that is taught by Jesus.
- Luke 11:5-8 is about the attitude in praying.
- Luke 11:9-10 is about the way to pray.
- Luke 11:11-13 is about the result of praying.
Luke 11:11-1311:11. "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
11:12. "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
11:13. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"God gives a fish, not a serpent. He gives an egg, not a scorpion.
Deuteronomy 8:158:15. "who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpentsand scorpionsand thirsty landwhere there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;
The situations of the wilderness are as follows:
- There are serpents. It refers to Satanwith the spirits of evil and uncleanness that encourages us for sinning up to the peak, namely sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (sexual sin with all of its kinds by our sight, mind and deed).
- There are scorpions
Revelation 9:2-3,7
9:2. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit.
9:3. Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpionsof the earth have power.
9:7. The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
It refers to antichristwith the spirit of war, namely hatred, anger, and revenge.
It triggers the world war. It starts form the marriage/household.
- The land is thirsty or there is no water. It is the same as thirstiness or dryness.
2 Peter 2:17
2:17. These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
It refers to the false prophetwith the lying spirit, false teaching, gossip, and evil speaking.
The wilderness is controlled by Satan the trinity so we live in the curse atmosphere that makes us labor, become heavy laden, toil, in bitterness, and perish.
The prayer is moving the wilderness atmosphere to the one of heaven.
The sign is that
God gives us a fish, not a serpent.
Luke 11: 11, 1311:11. "If a son asks for breadfrom any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpentinstead of a fish?11:13. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"The fish refers to Holy Spirit. The example is the five loaves and the two fish.
The bread refers to the word.
It means that we hear the word of God in the anointing of Holy Spirit so we may enjoy it.
John 4:7-184:7. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."4:8. For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.4:9. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.4:10. Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."4:11. The woman said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?4:12. "Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?"4:13. Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,4:14. "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."4:15. The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."4:16. Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."4:17. The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband,'4:18. "for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly."How great the Gentile is, he will be thirsty without Holy Spirit, namely dissatisfaction, spiritual dryness, wickedness and uncleanness.
The Gentiles absolutely need Holy Spiritlike we need water in the midst of wilderness.
Deuteronomy 8:158:15. "who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; The water from the rock that is hit refers to Jesus who has died on the cross, risen, and ascended to the Heaven to pour out Holy Spirit or living water.
John 19:28-3019:28. After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!"19:29. Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.19:30. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. The process is that we give Jesus the sour wine mingled with gall to drink.
It means confessing sin to God and others. Do not sin anymore after being forgiven! It is the same as repenting. Then, we enter water baptism.
Romans 6:46:4. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. The true water baptism is that one who has died to sin or repented must be buried in the water with Jesus and come out or rise from water with Him to receive new life or heavenly one, namely
life in righteousness.
Matthew 3:163:16. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.As a result, Jesus will give Holy Spirit, living water, or the new wine.
The usefulnesses of Holy Spirit are as follows:
- Holy Spirit purifiesus.
Romans 15:16
15:16. that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit purifies us from the characteristics of the Gentiles which are like the dog (wickedness) and swine (uncleanness), so we produce fragrance before God.
- Holy Spirit gives the gifts of Holy Spirit(the egg).
The gift of Holy Spirit is the miraculous ability from Holy Spirit, so we can minister to God according to the ministry that He gives to us.
The gift and the ministry are the same as the tunic of many colors.
Holy Spirit is able to make our life beautiful and give beautiful and successful future.
Ephesians 4:11-12
4:11. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
4:12. for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
- Holy Spirit gives true satisfaction, so we do not experience spiritual dryness.
The sign is that we do not grumble, but give thanks, testify (becoming a light), and worship God.
As a result, the spiritual miracle happens, namely the renewal of life. It starts from honesty and obedience. And the physical one happens too. God is able to make something that does not exist yet. The impossible thing becomes possible.
Our steps are the miracle ones. It continues until Jesus comes a second time that we are changed to become as perfect as He is to meet Him on the glorious clouds.
God blesses us.
