Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 4:31-37
4:31. Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths.
4:32. And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.
4:33. Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice,
4:34. saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are––the Holy One of God!"
4:35. But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.
4:36. Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, "What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."
4:37. And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.
Jesus is in Synagogue in Capernaum. It refers to
service.
There are two kinds of service, namely the true service and the false one.
There must be the true teaching Word
in the true service. On the contrary, there is no true teaching Word in the false service. Consequently, the congregation will have a spirit of demon, not experience Sabbath (rest), spiritually wither, and become barren.
Life who withers spiritually will not be satisfied, so he looks for the world satisfactions up to the peak of sin, that is sin concerning eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage.
If there is the true teaching Word in our service, the congregation will experience
authoritative faith, there is the power of purification to cast the demons out and we experience Sabbath (rest).
There are three kinds of spiritual Sabbath as follows:
- the small Sabbath.
It means rest in the Holy Spirit.
In the first day of Israel, Sabbath was the rest in the seventh day. Now, Sabbath can happen anytime as long as there is Holy Spirit, so it is not limited on the seventh day only.
Matthew 11:28-30
11:28. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
11:29. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentleand lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
11:30. "For My yoke is easyand My burden is light."
If we are in the true service, it is the invitation from God for us who live in the desert to enter the rest in the Holy Spirit.
The conditions are as follows:
- Being lowly in heart.
It is the ability to confess our sin. If the true teaching Word shows our sin, we have to confess and stop doing it.
- Being gentle.
It is the ability to forgive other's sin and forget it.
If we have finished our sin, we will experience the small Sabbath, the rest in the Holy Spirit and relief, we are hugged by God, and everthing becomes light and easy.
- The big Sabbath.
It refers to a thousand years kingdom of peace.
The conditions are as follows:
- Becoming the priest and king.
Revelation 20:6
20:6. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priestsof God and of Christ, and shall reign with Hima thousand years.
The priest and kingrefer to someone who is holy, having ministry and the gift of the Holy Spirit and being faithful in the ministry to God.
- Existing in the sheepfold/the Holy Place.
Leviticus 21:12
21:12. 'nor shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
In the Holy Place, there are three kinds of tool that refer to perseverance in committing three kinds of service, those are as follows:
- The Golden Candlestick= perseverance in committing General Service,
- The Table of Showbread= perseverance in committing Bible Study and Holy Communion Service.
- The Golder Altar of Incense= perseverance in committing Prayer Service.
- Being silent and quiet.
Isaiah 30:14-15
30:14. And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel, Which is broken in pieces; He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments A shard to take fire from the hearth, Or to take water from the cistern."
30:15. For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietnessand confidenceshall be your strength." But you would not,
Being silentmeans we check ourselves, stop doing sin and return to God, or repent.
Being quietmeans praying.
I Peter 4:7
4:7. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
Being silent and quietmeans we totally trust and commit ourselves to God, and obey Him. And God will stretch out His hand to us.
The results are as follows:
- Being calm. It means as follows:
- no fear, worry, and we do not feel anything that our flesh feels, so we live in peace.
- Everything is done, even the impossible one, and there is no fear.
- God leads us to the haven of peace.
Psalms 107:28-30
107:28. Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses.
107:29. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
107:30. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven.
- The eternal Sabbath.
It refers to the New Jerusalem.
The condition iswe must experience renewal from old man to new one, from old man who is hard like stone to the new one like jasper stone.
Revelation 21:11
21:11. having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
Jaspermeans burning yearning, namely faithfulness and fervency in spirit.
Clear as crystalmeans honesty and belief.
The burning yearning, honesty, and belief are like stretching out our hand to God and He will stretch out His hand to us.
The results are as follows:
- Saul experiences renewal to become Paul, the apostle.
I Timothy 1:12-16
1:12. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,
1:13. although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
1:14. And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
1:15. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
1:16. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
From a malignant person, Saul can be changed and used by God. And so can we.
- Lazarus is raised.
John 11:38-40
11:38. Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
11:39. Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."
11:40. Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"
Lazarus has been died for four days.
It means there is no more hope and future, but impossibilities like smoking flax and bruised reed.
But, God can raise as long as we are honestto confess our condition whoever we are and believe.
Until when God comes a second time, we are changed to become as glorious as Him to enter the New Jerusalem. We are with God forever.
God blesses us.
