Speaker: Mr. AntanusaOverall, Mark 16 refers to Shekinah Glory (the light of glory).
Where would we be able to get the light of glory? From the light of gospel about the glory of Christ (the true teaching Word) that contains the light of glory of God, it purifies and refines the church of God to be as glorious as God.
Mark 16:9-1416:9 Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons.
16:10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept
16:11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
16:12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country.
16:13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
The Light of glory shone to 3 groups of Child of God and apostles as follows:
- Mary Magdalene
- Two people who were walking to Emmaus
- The eleven apostles.
ad. 1. Mary Magdalene
In the past, Mary Magdalene was possessed by 7 demons. Because of that, she could not experience the power of resurrection.
John 20:1-2
20:1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
20:2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him."
Mary Magdalene did not experience the power of resurrection; she did not see the resurrection of God. Why could Mary not see the power of resurrection? Because Mary Magdalene did not understand the teaching Word.
John 20:9
20:9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
John 8:43-44
8:43 "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.
8:44 "You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources], for he is a liar and the father of it.
If we are freed from the power of demons, we will understand the Word. As long as the demons still have the power to control our life, we cannot understand the Word.
The signs of life that does not have the power of resurrection are as follows:
- Being the empty tomb.
Being the empty tomb means a heart that is empty of God's persona so the demons fill it.
People with this condition will often grumble and often nag.
- There are a lot of tears.
John 20:13
20:13 Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."
Weeping is usually caused by too many problems, even the impossible problems in our lives.
- Having prejudice.
John 20:15
20:15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away."
Mary Magdalene wept because she lost God. This is a main weeping in our life that is when we have broken relationship with God.
John 20:16
20:16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher).
God still wants to help our lives by calling us. Mary Magdalene heard the voice of God calling her name so she could recognize God.
Meaning God tells us the teaching Word.
John 10:3-410:3 "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
10:4 "And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice
In Shepherding, through the Word, God will increase our relationship with Him as follows:
- A relationship between disciple and teacher.
In this kind of relationship, we are able to hear and understand the Word; we are employed to witness the Word of God.
- A brethren relationship.
John 20:17
20:17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, `I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and [to] My God and your God.'"
Matthew 12:48-50
12:48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"
12:49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers!
12:50 "For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother."
Being relation means becoming obedient to the Word of God.
- A relationship that has one God and one Father = a relationship of body and head.
John 20:17
20:17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, `I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and [to] My God and your God.'"
Body and Head are connected by neck = worship prayer.
By the teaching Word, we can accept, understand and practice the Word until we surrender all our lives to God.
The relationship of body and Head will provide shield and protection of God in our lives, especially shield and protection over devastating death.
There are 3 kinds of devastating death as follows:
- Death that threatens through wind and waves.
Mark 4:37-39
4:37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
4:38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
The wind means the false teaching word.
The waves mean temptations, distress, and waves of sin up to the peak of sins that is sexuality sins and eating-drinking sins.
Although there were terrible wind and waves, having the power of resurrection of God will make it all calm.
- Death that threatens marriage life, especially youth lives.
Mark 5:22-23
5:22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet
5:23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live."
If young people refuse the shepherding Word, their lives are threatened by death that caused spiritual death.
People with spiritual sickness will cause their parents sad.
The sign of spiritual sickness people is not being faithful in service. If we let it be, it will cause spiritual death.
- Death that causes rottenness and stench, especially the rotten heart because of hidden sins.
John 11:32, 39, 43-44
11:32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died."
11:39 Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been [dead] four days."
11:43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!"
11:44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go."
God blesses us.
