Mark 16 refers to the Shekinah Glory or the light of glory from the Ark of Covenant.
Mark 16 is divided into 2 parts as follows:
- Mark 16:1-8, the light of gloryshines human heart until there is life renewal from flesh men to spiritual men like Jesus.
- Mark 16:9-20, the light of gloryshines from inside to outside producing a light that sparkles.
In this verse, it is also mentioned as anangelclothed in sparkling fine linen.
In conclusion, the light of glory provides LIFE RENEWAL so we are able to be employed as God's witnesses everywhere, being the light of the world up to becoming as glorious as Godat the time of Jesus' second coming.
2 Corinthians4:3-44:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
There are 2 kinds ofthe preaching of God's Wordas follows:
- The gospel of salvation/ gospel Word.
Ephesians 1:13
1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
The Gospel Word tells about Jesus' first coming on the cross to save sinners.
The process is as follows:
- Belief, faith in Jesus.
The True faith in Jesus is by hearing the Word.
If we hear the Word earnestly, our faith will increase up to the perfect faith.
If we do not hear the Wordearnestly, our faith will decrease until completely be gone.
- Repentance, stop doing sin and return to God
- Water baptism, being buried in the water with Jesus. Then resurrecting in new life, Heavenly life.
- Holy Spirit baptism.
- Baptism of water and Holy Spirit produce new life, LIVING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Psalm 5:13
5:13 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
If we live in righteousness, we will have the shield of God's gracethat is the blessing shield and the protection from God.
Being outside of His Grace means no salvation, there is only doom.
After being saved, where do we go? We still must be radiated until becoming as glorious as Jesus.
- The gospel of glory/ the teaching Word/the light of the gospel of the glory of Jesus.
In Mark 16:9-14, the light of glory shines 3 groups of God's child as follows:
- Mark 16:9-11, Mary Magdalene
- Mark 16:12-13, 2 people walking to Emmaus
- Mark 16:14, the 11 apostles (Judas Iscariot cannot be helped anymore).
Mary Magdalene groups.
Mark 16:9-1116:9. Now when [He] rose early on the first [day] of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons.
16:10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept.
16:11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
Luke 8:2-38:2 and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons,
8:3 and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.
Mary Magdalene is rich woman. But her richness cannotguarantee of people's lives.
The Light of Glory shines Mary Magdalene in 2 things as follows:
- Mary Magdalene was possessed by 7 demons (7 evil and impure spirits).
Richness, occupation, intelligence, and title cannot resist against evil and impure spirit. Only by the light of glory, we can be free from 7 evil and impure spirits.
Matthew 15:19
15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
If our hearts are sanctified from 7 evil and impure spirits, our life will be filled by the Holy Spirit with its 7 manifestations.
Isaiah 11:1-2
11:1. There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
Until at the peak that is the fear of the Lord, meaning to be afraid of doing sin and be honest.
If our hearts are honest and sincere, God will show us the way. God will guide us to a beautiful future up to New Jerusalem the city of light.
Psalm 25:12
25:12 Who [is] the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.
- Mary Magdalenewept.
John 20:11-13, 15
20:11. But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down [and looked] into the tomb.
20:12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
20:13 Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."
20:15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away."
It refers to a life of child of God that has many problems and miseries.Tears often cover our life so we cannot see Jesus, cannot see the Word.
Richness, occupation, intelligence, title, etc cannot wipe our tears, it cannot give us happiness.
Why do we weep? Most of us weep because of temptations, sickness, broken heart, or study problems.
But is there any of us that weep when we are apart with God?When we cannot go to church? When we sinned? When we cannot worship God?
Weeping because of temptations, etc will never end. But tonight, let us weep in order not to be apart with God. We have to love God more than anything else.If we can love God more than anything, God will never ask "Why are you weeping?", but He calls us.
John 20:16, 18
20:16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!"She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!"(which is to say, Teacher).
20:18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and [that] He had spoken these things to her.
God called "Mary". The Word of God will point our condition. God knows us fully. Jesus calls us to help our life.
Our answer is 'Rabboni'. We only look upon God, only God.
Psalm 16:8
16:8. I have set the LORD always before me; Because [He is] at my right hand I shall not be moved.
We become lives that are strong and of good courage, only by looking and worshiping God. Not being desperate and disappointed, only believing and entrusting ourselves fully to God.
Not the smart or rich young man that is looked by God, but a young man who is strong and of good courage, who is looking upon God.
And the results are:
- God wipes our tears so our face is radiant, God gives us heavenly happiness that cannot be affected by anything in the world.
- The Hand of God employs us becoming witnesses of the true teaching word wherever we are (in past, like Joshua were employed by God with being strong and good courage).
- God makes all things beautiful in His time, more than we can imagine.
1 Chronicles 19:13
19:13 "Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do [what is] good in His sight."
God blesses us.
