Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 9:28-36 is about Jesus Transfigured on the Mount.
The true worship must be driven by the true teaching word. It means we worship Jesus in His glory as the King of kings and the Heavenly Bridegroom.
Be watchful! The false worship is the one to antichrist and without the true teaching word.
The results of the true worship are as follows:
- The renewal of life[Luke 9:29].
- The protection[Luke 9:30-31].
- The heavenly bliss[Luke 9:32-34].
- We can confess that Jesus is the Son of God.
Luke 9:35
9:35. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"
ad. 4.
We can confess that Jesus is the Son of God.
There are
two times of confession that Jesus is the Son of Godas follows:
- In the water baptism( on the face of the sea).
Matthew 3:16-17
3:16. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
3:17. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
This is the confession that Jesus is the Son of God who becomes obedient to the point of death on the cross to save the sinners.
- In worship(on the mount).
Luke 9:35
9:35. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"
Jesus becomes obedient to the point of death on the cross. He has risen and ascended to heaven, and He is glorified as the High Priest and King of kings who sits at the right hand of God the Father.
Hebrews5:8-10
5:8. though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
5:9. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
5:10. called by God as High Priest "according to the order of Melchizedek,"
Jesus is called and chosen to become the High Priest and King of kings. If we confess that Jesus is the Son of God who is glorified as the High Priest and King of kings,
we also have to be called and chosen to become the priests and kings.
1 Peter 2:9
2:9. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
A priest is the true man, one who has ministry and ministers to God according to the ministry that God gives to him.
The process to become the priest and king is as follows:
- Being called.
1 Peter 2:9
2:9. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
We must be called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
People who live in darkness must be saved, brought to the light, and justified.
The process is as follows:
- Believing Jesus as the only one Savior,
- Repenting or stopping sinning and returning to God.
- Being reborn through water and Holy Spirit baptism.
When we are reborn, the heaven will be open (it is like Jesus when He is baptized), so we receive the new life or heavenly one.
- Being chosen.
1 Peter 2:9
2:9. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Exodus 28:1
28:1. "Now take Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister to Me as priest, Aaron and Aaron's sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
From among all nations in the world, the Israelites are chosen. From among the twelve tribes of Israel, the tribe of Levi is chosen. From among the families of Levi, the family of Kohath is chosen. From among the descendants of Kohath, Aaron is chosen to be the priest.
Exodus 29:1
29:1. "And this is what you shall do to them to hallow them for ministering to Me as priests: Take one young bull and two rams without blemish,
Being chosen means from among the people in the world, one is taken to be purified ("For many are called, but few are chosen").
Acts 2:41-42
2:41. Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
2:42. And they continued steadfastlyin the apostles' doctrineand fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
We must be purified in the Holy Place, namely perseverance in three kinds of main service as follows:
- The Golden Candlestick: perseverance in committing general service= fellowship with Holy Spirit God in His gifts.
- The Table of Showbread: perseverance in committing bible study service and Holy Communion= fellowship with Son of God in true teaching word and Christ's sacrifice.
- The Golden Altar of Incense: perseverance in committing prayer service= fellowship with God the Father in His love.
In the Holy Place (the sheepfold), our body, soul, and spirit are attaching to God the Trinity, so Satan cannot touch us. We experience victory and peace. Our life becomes easy and light and is laid out neatly by God.
In the sheepfold, our body, soul, and spirit are purified by God the Trinity, so we can be used by Him.
For example, Peter experienced purification in the sheepfold.
When Jesus told about His death, Peter took Him aside because he was selfish and arrogant (he felt superior to God and he did not put Jesus in front of him).
Matthew 14:30-31
14:30. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"
14:31. And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"
Peter also doubted. He did not believe the power of God when he walked on the water.
Peter was irritable, so he cut off Malchus' right ear.
Peter also became disobedient, so he went fishing again.
John 21:3, 7
21:3. Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
21:7. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.
Consequently, Peter was totally failed, naked, and drowned. Peter could not serve God, but denied Him.
John21:15-17
21:15. So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs."
21:16. He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep."
21:17. He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.
In the shepherding, Peter experienced purification by the sword of the word until he was grieved. He could realize and regret his sins. Peter became humble, so he could confess his sins to God and others.
John 21:18-19
21:18. "Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish."
21:19. This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."
Peter could stretch out his hand to God. It means he became obedient up to sacrificing his life. Peter could love God more than anything and love others like himself. He totally trusted and committed himself to God.
- Being appointed.
Mark 3:13-14
33:13. And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him.
3:14. Then He appointedtwelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,
Ephesians 4:11-12
4:11. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
4:12. for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
Being appointed means one is equipped with the ministry and the gift of Holy Spirit to be used for the edifying of the body of Christ. The ministry and the gift of Holy Spirit are the same as the tunic of many colors. God will make our life beautiful.
The ministry is worth the blood of Jesus.
If one leaves the ministry, he tramples Christ's sacrifice, so his life is not beautiful up to perdition like Judas Iscariot.
Genesis 37:31-33
37:31. So they took Joseph's tunic, killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the tunic in the blood.
37:32. Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, "We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son's tunic or not?"
37:33. And he recognized it and said, "It is my son's tunic. A wild beast has devoured him. Without doubt Joseph is torn to pieces."
After receiving the tunic of many colors, it must be dipped in the blood, so it cannot be possessed by two powers as follows:
- The beast (Joseph' brothers), namely envy and hatred.
- Potiphar's wife, namely unclean spirit that guides to sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (sexual sin with all of its kinds).
The robe is dipped in the blood means we must experience the sprinkling of blood (entering the Most Holy Place) and willingly suffer in the flesh with Jesus
1 Peter 4:12-14
4:12. Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
4:13. but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
4:14. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
There is the Spirit of glory behind the sprinkling of blood and it gives us extra power, makes us faithful and fervent in ministering to God. The Spirit of glory also changes our life so we become strong and of good courage, and keep worshipping God, so He will be with us.
Daniel 3:24-25
3:24. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king."
3:25. "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
God pays attention to and cares about us. He understands about our condition and struggles for us.
The results are as follows:
- God is able to take care of our life miraculously in the middle of difficulties and powerlessness.
- God is able to finish all problems until the impossible ones.
- God is able to give successful and beautiful future.
- We are purified and changed up to perfection to greet when Jesus comes a second time.
God blesses us.
