To coincide with water baptism

Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 8 refers to the Golden Candlestick. In Luke 8, there are seven stories that refer to seven lamps on the Golden Candlestick and they are as follows:

  1. Many Women Minister to Jesus (Luke 8:1-3).
  2. The Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:4-15).
  3. The Parable of the Revealed Light (Luke 8:16-18).
  4. Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Come to Him (Luke 8:19-21).
  5. Wind and Wave Obey Jesus (Luke 8:22-25).
  6. A Demon-Possessed Man Healed (Luke 8:26-39).
  7. A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed (Luke 8:40-56).

We discuss the sixth story namely A Demon-Possessed Man Healed.

Satan possesses humans' heart and mind, soul and spirit.
There are three states of demon-possessed son of God, namely evil and unclean spirit, and they are as follows:

  1. One is like a man from Gadarenes in the tombs.
    Luke 8:27
8:27. And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demonsfor a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs.

  2. One is like swine.
    Luke 8:33
8:33. Then the demons went out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the lake and drowned.

  3. One is like those who fed the swine.
    Luke 8:34
    8:34. When
those who fed themsaw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country.

We learn the second one, namely: one is like swine.

A sow, having washed, returns to her wallowing in the mire.
One is like swine means one who falls and rises in sin up to the peak of sin, namely sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (fornication sin or sexual sin with all its kinds and false marriage).

Sin of eating-drinking is the sin that makes the heart of God grieved, the heart of parents sore and the heart of the shepherd lament.

Luke 17:26-30
17:26. "And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
17:27. "They
ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
17:28. "Likewise as it was also
in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
17:29. "but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
17:30. "Even so will it be
in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Human has sinned in eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage since the days of Noah. God destroyed the world by flood and only eight people were saved.
Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah by rained fire and brimstone and only three people were saved.

In the last days, sin will culminate again and God will destroy the world by fire from the Heaven, so both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

2 Peter 3:10
3:10. But the day of the Lordwill come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Genesis 6:5-6
6:5. Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6:6. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

One is like swine, namely sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage. Why is it like that? Because every intent of the thoughts of his heart is only evil and unclean continually. It is the same as bad conscience.
The way out is water baptism.

If we are born by physical mother only, we have bad conscience, namely every intent of the thoughts of our heart is only evil and unclean continually. That is why, we have to experience new birth in the water baptism.

1 Peter 3:20-21
3:20. who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
3:21. There is also an antitype which now saves us––
baptism(not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good consciencetoward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

We have to enter true water baptism. There are a lot of kinds of the water baptism that are created by man, but only one is true and able to save us.
True water baptismis according to Jesus' will and we are baptized like He has been baptized. As Jesus the head was baptized, we as the body are also baptized.

The term to be baptized is repentance. It means one stops sinning and returns to God or having died to sin.
Romans 6:2
6:2. Certainly not! How shall we who died to sinlive any longer in it?

The baptism is one must be buried in the water with Jesus and come out or rise from water with Him to receive new life, namely heavenly life.

Romans 6:4
6:4. Therefore we were buriedwith Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raisedfrom the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Matthew 3:16
3:16. When He had been baptized, Jesus came upimmediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

If we are baptized with Jesus or we are buried in the water and come out from water with Him, the heavens will be opened for us.
Through water baptism, the swine is renewed into sheep. We have to enter the sheepfold after being baptized.
Physically, the sheepfold means a legal church.
Spiritually, it means kingdom of Heaven.

Moses got the picture of Tabernacle or the kingdom of Heaven that consists of three rooms, namely the Court, the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place (holiness).
We are in the Holy Place after being baptized. There are three tools in the Holy Place as follows:

  1. The Golden Candlestick: General Service, fellowship with Holy Spirit God.
  2. Table of Showbread: Bible Study Service, fellowship with Son of God.
  3. The Golden Altar Of Incense: Prayer Service, fellowship with God the Father.

We worship God the Trinity because we have body, soul and spirit.
In the shepherding, our body, soul and spirit attach to God the Trinity, so we cannot be touched by Satan, but experience peace.

John 10:27-28
10:27. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
10:28. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

If we obey God and dwell in the sheepfold, we will be in the hand of the Shepherd.

The results are as follows:

  1. The hand of Jesus as Good Shepherdis able to give certainty to take care of our life from now on (study or work), in the future up to eternal life.

Eternal life is started from life in righteousness and holiness.

  2. Hebrews 13:20-21
13:20. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherdof the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
    13:21.
make you complete in every good workto do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

The second result is the hand of Great Shepherdgives equipment to us, namely ministry and the gift of Holy Spirit, so we are used in the edifying of the building of the perfect body of Christ.

    Ephesians 4:11-12
4:11. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
    4:12. for the
equipping of the saintsfor the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

The ministry and the gift of Holy Spirit are like Joseph's tunic of many colors. By ministering, our life is more beautiful.
If we do not serve the building of the body of Christ, we will serve the building of the body of Babylon or Satan's bride, the peak of uncleanness and wickedness, so we are returned as swine.

  3. The hand of the Chief Shepherdis able to lift up our life in due time.
    1 Peter 5:4-6
5:4. and when the Chief Shepherdappears, you will receive the crown of glorythat does not fade away.
5:5. Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
5:6. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that
He may exalt you in due time,

God lifts us up in due time means as follows:

    • Lifting us up from sin, so we live in righteousness.
    • Lifting us up from our failures, so we become successful.
    • All problems are finished up to the impossible ones.

We are lifted up means we are purified and renewed up to perfected like God. We are lifted up to glorious clouds to receive the crown of glory and sit with Him forever.

God blesses us.
