Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 9:289:28. Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray.
The true worship must be driven by the true teaching word. It means we worship Jesus as the Bridegroom. The false worship is the one to antichrist and without the true teaching word.
The results of the true worship are as follows:
- The renewal of lifefrom carnal men to spiritual ones like Jesus.
Luke 9:29
9:29. As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.
- The protection.
Luke 9:30-31
9:30. And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah,
9:31. who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
Moses, Jesus, and Elijah refer to God the Trinity, namely two cherubim and the mercy seat that protect us.
- The heavenly bliss.
Luke 9:32-34
9:32. But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.
9:33. Then it happened, as they were parting from Him, that Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good for usto be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah" --not knowing what he said.
9:34. While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as they entered the cloud.
Luke 9:329:32. But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.
There are people who are heavy with sleep while in the true worship. The negative attitude to the true worship is
sleeping.
The meanings of spiritual sleepare as follows:
- Being disobedient and unfaithful.
Jonah 1:1-5
1:1. Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
1:2. "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me."
1:3. But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshishfrom the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
1:4. But the LORD sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.
1:5. Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep.
Jonah slept spiritually. It means he was not obedient and faithful. He left his ministry to God (God had told him to go to Niniveh, but he went to Tarshish).
Jonah fled from God, so his life suffered, he was disappointed and desperate, without any hope. Being far away from God is the same as being close to death up to perishing forever.
- Not being delightful and fervent anymore when hearing the true teaching word, but feeling sleepy and criticizing it.
Matthew 13:24-25, 30
13:24. Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;
13:25. "but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.
13:30. 'Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."'"
When we are sleeping, Satan is sowing the seed of tares, namely the one of false teaching, sin, wickedness, and uncleanness.
Consequently, it grows to become the tares. It means living for sin up to the peak of sin, namely sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage, so one is lost forever.
- Not persevering nor being faithful in worship.
Luke 9:32
9:32. But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.
Being heavy with sleep means one cannot pray or he is dry.
The worship prayer is the relationship between the body and the head, namely the one of obedience and love. If one sleeps in the worship prayer, he will not have the obedience and love.
Luke 9:34
9:34. While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearfulas they entered the cloud.
The consequence is one fears something in the world until he does not fear God even denies Him.
If we worship God delightfully, we will fear God whatever risk may come.
If the church of God is in the condition of spiritual sleep, Jesus will sleep too. It means He is not fervent to help us.
Mark 4:35-384:35. On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side."
4:36. Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
4:37. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
4:38. But He was in the stern, asleepon a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
The condition of the church of God that sleeps spiritually is the same as the one of the disciples in the middle of the wavy sea while Jesus sleeps. He is not fervent to help us.
The only thing we need is
Jesus as the teacher. It means we need the true teaching word or bride tidings.
Where the true teaching word is preached, there are two great things happen as follows:
- Jesus arises.
Mark 4:39
4:39. Then He aroseand rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
It means Jesus is delightful and fervent to help all of us.
- We arise.
It means the true teaching word is able to make us wake spiritually. It is like ten virgins who were awakened when there was the preaching of bride tidings.
The signs of the spiritual revival are as follows:
- Jesus is always in our boat.
It means we always minister God faithfully and fervently.
Revelation 17:14
17:14. "These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful."
Being faithful is the same as winning over the winds and waves. Being unfaithful is the same as being destroyed.
- Not being doubtful and fearful, but strong and of good courage, namely holding fast the true teaching and obeying God whatever risk may come.
Mark 4:40-41
4:40. But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"
4:41. And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
- Being silent and calm.
Mark 4:39
4:39. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Being silent means correcting ourselves through the sharpness of the sword of the word. If a sin is found, we must confess it. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore.
Being calm means controlling ourselves, so we can pray.
Being silent and calm is the same as stretching out our hand to God and He will stretch out His merciful hand to us.
The results are as follows:
- God's hand helps us.
Hebrews 4:16
4:16. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God helps us in time of need. Everything becomes calm, easy, and light. All problems are finished by God in due time.
- God's hand leads us to the haven of peace or New Jerusalem.
Revelation 7:17
7:17. "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountainsof waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
God purifies and changes us from carnal men to spiritual ones like Him up to we become perfect like Him.
God blesses us.
