Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In
Luke 9:18-21, we learn about our recognition of Jesus. Now, we learn about our following to Jesus (before recognizing Jesus, we cannot follow Him).
Luke 9:22
9:22. saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day."Jesus must suffer many things up to the death on the cross, but He will be risen at the third day.
John 2:19-21
2:19. Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
2:20. Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty–six yearsto build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"
2:21. But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
Jesus is risen at the third day for building the perfect body of Christ.
The Israelites built the temple of God for forty-six years. Forty-six refers to the Law or two tablets of stone which consist of four and six laws.
The Gentiles do not have part in the Law. But, in the perfect body of Christ, the Gentiles have it.
The direction of our following to Jesus is
the following of body to the head, namely inseparable one.
We must be active in the building of the body of Christ up to perfect and we are ready to greet when Jesus comes a second time on the glorious clouds. We must
have the ministry, so we are used in the edifying of the building of the body of Christ.
If we are left behind when Jesus comes a second time, everything will be vain.
The edifying of the building of the body of Christ is started from household, shepherding, inter-shepherding until the Gentiles and Israelites become one perfect body of Christ.
The ministry is the tunic of many colors. It means God guarantees our beautiful future.
For building the body of Christ, Jesus sacrifices all things; even He sacrifices the Heaven to come to the world. We follow the example of Jesus, namely we sacrifice all things to minister Him, starting from time, power, money, mind, until our whole life.
Only one that we may not sacrifice, namely true teaching word, because it is Jesus' persona.
If we are activein the building of the body of Christ according to our own ministry, we place Jesus as the Head.
If we stop ministeringthe building of the body of Christ, we will enter the building of the Babylon and place wolf and bird--wicked and unclean spirit--as the head.
There are two meanings of Jesus as the head as follows:
- Jesus is the King of kings.
Ephesians 1:22-23
1:22. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be headover all things to the church,
1:23. which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
1 Corinthians 15:25-26
15:25. For He must reigntill He has put all enemies under His feet.
15:26. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
Jesus is the King of kings and we are the kings.
It means we must win over the death, namely sin.
The proof is as follows:
- Living in righteousness anywhere, anytime and in any condition.
- Keeping on holding fast to true teaching word, so we are not deceived by destroying false teaching and gossip.
2 Peter 2:1
2:1. But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
Psalms 5:12
5:12.For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
If we live in righteousness and are not deceived, the result iswe are surrounded with God's favor and blessing. We experience Paradise feel in the middle of cursed world.
- Jesus is the Bridegroom.
Ephesians 5:22-25
5:22. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
5:23. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
5:24. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
5:25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
Jesus is the Bridegroom and the church is His bride.
The relationship between Jesus and the church is the relationship between the head and body that cannot be separated.
The closest relationship between the head and body is the neck. It refers to the prayer and submission.
The prayer is the process of the tearing of flesh, so we can obey, submit and cry out 'Abba, Father!'
Mark 14:33-34
14:33. And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.
14:34. Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch."
The flesh that must be torn are as follows:
- Fearfulness of flesh must be changed into the fear of God.
- Sorrowful, desperate and disappointed flesh must be torn to become giving thanks to God always.
- Self-will is surrendered to God, so only God's is done.
Luke 22:39-43
22:39. Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him.
22:40. When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation."
22:41. And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed,
22:42. saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."
22:43. Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
If we can obey up to submit and just cry out 'Abba, Father!', Holy Spirit will come to us to fulfill and anoint us.
The results are as follows:
- Holy Spirit renews our life from carnal men to spiritual ones.
Titus 3:5
3:5. not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
We are honestand obedient. Saying yes if yes and no if no. So, we can be expected.
- Holy Spirit is able to perform physical miracle, namely a great mountain becomes a plain.
Zechariah 4:6-7
4:6. So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.
4:7. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"
Holy Spirit is able to finish all impossible problems, and make everything beautiful and successful in due time.
Until the last one when Jesus comes a second time, we are changed to become as glorious as Him. The head and body become one and cannot be separated forever.
God blesses us.
