Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 11:37-54 is about '
Woe to the Pharisees and Lawyers'
Luke 11:37-39
11:37. And as He spoke, a certain Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and sat down to eat.
11:38. When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner.
11:39. Then the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.Inviting Jesus to eat means the fellowship with Jesus to enjoy the word earnestly like one who is hungry or hear and obey the true teaching word, so we are purified.
The Pharisees and Lawyers only take heed to the outside. They do not take heed to the word, so they do not experience purification. Consequently, they are fulminated by God with six times of 'woe'.
Luke 11:42-43
11:42. "But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
11:43. "Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.
THE SECOND 'WOE'is that the Pharisees only
look for physical honor and glory or the honor from men, and it leads to antichrist who wants to be worshipped like God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
2:3. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
2:4. who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.1 Samuel 2:8
2:8. He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He has set the world upon them.If we want to appreciate the word of God or hear and obey it, God will be able to give eternal honor and glory.
The process of receiving the glory and honor from God is as follows:
- Appreciating and regardingthe true teaching word.
Proverbs 13:18
13:18. Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored.
2 Timothy 4:2
4:2. Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
The results are as follows:
- The teaching word showsour hidden sins, so we realize, regret, and confess our sins to God and others.
- The true teaching word rebukes us, so we repent or stop sinning and return to God.
If we stop hearing the word, we will sin continuously up to the peak.
- The true teaching word exhorts us, so we become a worthy life before God.
Proverbs 10:2
10:2. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.
Living in righteousness is the same as being delivered from death.
This is the real glory and honor.
- Serving God in the true consecration, namely the one of bride or the one in love.
John 12:26
12:26. "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
Where Jesus is, there we will be also.
The facts found init are as follows:
- Doing God's will= being obedient.
John 14:15
14:15. "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
The measurement of the true ministry is obeying God.
Matthew 3:13-17
3:13. Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
3:14. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?"
3:15. But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed Him.
3:16. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
3:17. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Jesus is not a sinner, but He is considered as a sinner, so He must be baptized to fulfill Father's will and become example of the true baptism.
Romans 6:4
6:4. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptisminto death, that just as Christ was raisedfrom the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
We are baptized, so we become the children of God. We live in righteousness and become the instrument of righteousness.
Luke 3:21-23
3:21. When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened.
3:22. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, "You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased."
3:23. Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,
- Being obedient and faithful until the finish line.
John 4:34
4:34. Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Himwho sent Me, and to finish His work.
It is as if we are giving food to Jesus. We minister to satisfy Jesus.
Our job is only giving food to Jesus, and He will take care of our life. There is the guarantee of certainty from God for our life now, in the future up to eternal life. We sit together with Him on the throne of heaven forever.
- Experiencing the test of faith.
1 Peter 1:6-7
1:6. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
1:7. that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
We experience suffering in the flesh with Jesus or the sprinkling of blood, so we receive eternal honor and gloryon the glorious clouds when Jesus comes a second time.
We experience the sprinkling of blood to receive the strong and genuinefaithlike gold.
We keep believing and hoping God. We just trust and cry to God.
Daniel 3:16-18, 24-25
3:16. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
3:17. "If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.
3:18. "But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."
3:24. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king."
3:25. "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
The resultis that the hands of God's great mercy are able to finish all impossible problems.
We are changed little by little. It starts from being honest and open.
It continues until Jesus comes a second time that we are changed to become as perfect as He is.
God blesses us.
