Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 5:1, 10-11
5:1. So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God5:10. and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."
5:11. So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.The main purpose of our service and ministry to God isto hear the Word of God.
If we prioritize the Word of God in our ministry, we are pressing about Him. We feel the presence of Jesus in the midst of us.
The preaching of the Word of God in our service is able to
changeusfrom fisherman to fishers of men.
The Fishermanis
one of professionsin the worldto fulfill flesh need and daily necessities of life.
Fish is catched to be eaten and sold.
The fisher of menis
the work of Heavenand not a profession to fulfill daily need, but it is ordination to God.
Man is catched to be brought into the Kingdom of Heaven and not to look for money.
To reach success in the work in this world, we need cleverness, expertise, experience, et cetera. But,
our main need in ministry is God's call.
Why does God call us?Since Adam and Eve fell into sin and became naked, human is separated from God. They live in curse, labor and are heavy laden without ability to return to God until being separated from Him forever. Therefore, God calls the sinners by the sacrifice of Christ (Jesus' blood on the cross) that we do not perish.
Revelation 1:5-6
1:5. and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
1:6. and has made us kings and prieststo His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
The calling of God is for two things as follows:
- To release us from sins up to the peak of sin, those are sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage [Revelation 1:5].
- Lifting us up to become the priests and kings [Revelation 1:6].
There are three signs of life who receivesthe calling of Godas follows:
- Forsaking all to follow Jesus.
Luke 5:11
5:11. So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook alland followed Him.
It means we forsake our sins and old life.
The process to forsake sin and old life is as follows:
- Believing God by hearing the Word that is anointed by Holy Spirit.
- Stopping doing sin to return to God and die to sin.
Revelation 21:8
21:8. "But the cowardly(1), unbelieving(2), abominable(3), murderers(4), sexually immoral(5), sorcerers(6), idolaters(7), and all liars(8) shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
- Experiencing renewal by water and spirit (water and Holy Spirit baptism) that we have new life, namely heavenly life. It means we live in righteousness and are saved from death.
Proverbs 10:2
10:2. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.
- Becoming the priests and kings.
Luke 5:10
5:10. and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."
Becoming the priest and kings means we become the instrument of righteousness and slave of righteousness.
Romans 6:13-14
6:13. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousnessto God.
6:14. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
We absolutely have to be priest and kings. If we do not minister, we will be used as the instrument of unrighteousness again and serve satan only.
The slave of righteousness is toserve according to ministry that is given by Godfaithfully and truly.
Isaiah 11:5
11:5. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
Serving truly means we use the belt.
The result is God will tidy our lives.
Revelation 19:11
19:11. Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
If we serve faithfully and truly, we are used in the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain, to enter the building of the body of Christ.
- Following Jesus.
Luke 5:11
5:11. So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.
John 10:4
10:4. "And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
Following Jesus means we are truly shepherded. The practise is we are shepherded to true teaching Word, always in true sheepfold (the shepherd and the congregation are diligent in three kinds of service) and obedient to the voice ot the Shepherd (stretching out our hand to the Chief Shepherd).
John 21:18-19
21:18. "Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish."
21:19. This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."
Peter stretches out his hand to God and loves Him more than anything until he is willing to die for God.
We stretch out our hand to God, He also stretches out His hand to us and miracle happens.
The results are as follows:
- God cares our lives magically in the world up to eternal life.
John 10:27-28
10:27. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
10:28. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
- The hand of the Chief Shepherd can finish all our problemseven the impossible one.
- God changes us and we are lifted up to the clouds when God comes a second time.
God blesses us.
