Mark 16 refers to the resurrection of Jesus or the light of glory.
The light of God's glory shone to three parts of the sons of God as follows:
- Verse 9-11, Mary Magdalene.
- Verse 12-13, two disciples going to Emmaus.
- Verse 14, eleven disciples.
Tonight we continue to Mark 16:15-18.
Mark 16:15-1816:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
16:17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
16:18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Receiving the light of glory,
we are employed and sent by God to minister Him as well as to become His witness.
There are two kinds of testimony as follows:
- The testimony about the Gospel of salvation or the Gospel Word [Ephesians 1:13].
The Gospel Word is the Word preaching about Jesus' first coming into the world to die on the crossto save sinful people and to bless us.
Thus, the Gospel of salvation brings sinful people to believe in Jesus, repent, be baptized, and have life renewal. In such condition, they are saved and blessed by God.
- The testimony about the light of glory or the light of the gospel of the glory of God or teaching Word [2 Corinthians 4:3-4].
The teaching Word is the Word preaching about Jesus' second coming in glory as the King of kings and heavenly Bridegroom to sanctify and perfect the saved people so they can become the perfect Bride of God, who is ready to welcome Jesus' second coming.
Many are called but few are chosen. We should not stop on the salvation only, but we have to continue to be sanctified and perfected.
Formerly, there were 603.550 Israelites going out of Egypt, but only two people could reach Canaan.
How is the ambience of the sending?Luke 10:1,310:1. After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.
10:3 "Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
The ambience of the sending or ministry is as lambs among wolves. We are really
weak and powerless; we cannot rely on anything in the world.
The only one solution is through
being shepherded. Only the Chief Shepherd can fight against the wolves. The lamb with all of their greatness and intelligence will not be able to fight against the wolves.
The requirements of being shepherded are as follows:
- Being shepherded to the true teaching Word. The true teaching Word is a command. Wrong command will make one unable to reach heavenly kingdom.
- Persevering in the sheepfold. Do not try to go out of the sheepfold or else you fall!
Psalm 23:623:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. We receive
the goodness and mercy of God as well as His gloryin the shepherding. This is the key of David that the Lord will arrange our life in the shepherding.
Mark 16 is about the light of glory. God shines all our weaknesses before we minister, so we can be sent. Afterward, He keeps on shining us, so there is no darkness can defeat us.
Psalm 84:1284:12 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. The goodness and mercy of God as well as His glory are as the sun shines from Jesus' face as the Chief Shepherd.
In shorts, the shepherded one will not rely on anything but look upon Jesus' face which shines as the sun.
The result will be real as follows:
- The goodness and mercy of God are as a shield which is able to protect usfrom the work of the wolf of Satan, namely sins that want to make us fall and be destroyed. We are also protected from all disasters, illness, et cetera.
- The goodness and mercy of God are able to open the door which is impossible for us; the door of future lifewhich is arranged well, beautiful, and joyful.
The door of victorywill also be opened for us. We are powerless but we can defeat great problems because of the goodness and mercy of God which fight for us.
In addition, there is the door of God's lifting up and healing in our life. David should have been destroyed because of sinning with Bathsheba but he could be forgiven, lifted up, and healed because he was in the shepherding.
- The glory of God performs spiritual miracle, namely life renewalfrom carnal men to spiritual men as Jesus is.
[Psalm 84:12] The life renewal begins with upright/sincere heart, there is no hypocrisy or envy or revenge or anxiety. The sincerity means there is peace in our heart. We have to become sincere in our marriage and shepherding.
If we have the sincere heart, our mouth will be honestto say 'yes' if 'yes' and 'no' if 'no.' Being sincere as a dove equals to having the anointing of Holy Spirit, so we can utter the tongue as the Spirit gives or we can lift up our prayer before God. In addition, the physical miracle will happen, that the impossible things can be made possible.
In the shepherding, all our steps are the steps of miracleup to the last step that we are renewed to become as glorious as Jesus is. We are lifted up to glorious clouds to meet the Lord, to enter New Jerusalem, where there is no tear at all.
God blesses you.
