Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 11:37-54 is about '
Woe to the Pharisees and Lawyers'
Luke 11:37
11:37. And as He spoke, a certain Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and sat down to eat.Inviting Jesus to eat means the fellowship with Jesus to enjoy the word earnestly or hear and obey the true teaching word
1 Peter 1:221:22. Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truththrough the Spirit in sincere loveof the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,As a result, we experience purification, so we live in love. We can love others as we love ourselves, and God more than anything. It is the same as having the two tablets of stone.
Luke 11:38-41
11:38. When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner.
11:39. Then the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.
11:40. "Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
11:41. "But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to youThe Pharisees and Lawyers only take heed to the physical thing (outside one). They do not prioritize the food/word, so they do not experience purification. Consequently, they are fulminated by God, and they experience six times of 'woe'.
ad. 1.
The first 'woe',namely
the Pharisees tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God.
Luke 11:4211:42. "But woe to youPharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. The first 'woe' happens because the Pharisees tithe mint, but pass by justice and the love of God. The Pharisees tithe mint, so they look holy. They show off outside but their hearts are not holy or they have no love.
The correct way to return the tithe is based on the purification of heart, so we are not bound by money, and we can return it with joy and love, not of necessity.
As a result, we will live in love or
we have the two tablets of stone as follows:
- The first tablet of the two tablets of stone which contains four laws that arrange our relationship with God= loving Godmore than anything.
Psalm 97:10
97:10. You who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
The fact of loving God is hatingsin/evil.
Proverbs 6:16-19
6:16. These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
6:17. A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 6:18. A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil,
6:19. A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.
Seven things are an abomination to Him, and they are as follows:
- A proud look. It means that one relies on something in the world more than God. He sacrifices spiritual thing for physical one.
- A lying tongue. It is two-tongued. A lying tongue is a snake's. It means that one is not consistent in saying, so he cannot be trusted.
- Hands that shed innocent blood= wrong and unjust deeds.
- A heart that devises wicked plans. It means that one is not sincere, but full of evil and unclean desires.
- Feet that are swift in running to evil = evil and unclean journey of life (sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage).
- A false witness who speaks lies.
- One who sows discord among brethren = trouble maker, one who is quarrelsome.
The processof having sincere heart, so we hate the seven sins is as follows:
- Believing in Jesus and repenting/stopping sinning. We are dead to sin/
- Water and Holy Spirit baptism. We experience new birth from water and Holy Spirit.
If our heart is sincere and we are anointed by Holy Spirit, we will be able to love God and experience freedom from sin until hating sin. It is the same as seven burning lamps that result in the deed and word in light (true and good one) .
Psalm 97:10
97:10. You who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
The result is that we experience God's care and protectionboth physically and spiritually in the midst of the difficulties of the world up to antichrist's age.
Psalm 97:11-12
97:11. Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.
97:12. Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
We experience heavenly bliss, so we do not look for apparent satisfaction in the world. We do not fall into sin up the peak, namely sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (sexual sin with all of its kinds).
Revelation 19:8
19:8. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
We receive the fine linen, clean, and bright. It is the clothesof the bride.
- The second tablet of the two tablets of stone which contains six laws that arrange our relationship with others= loving othersas we love ourselves, even we can love our enemy.
Matthew 5:43-45
5:43. "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
5:44. "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
5:45. "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
The fact found in loving others is forgiving their sin and forgetting it. We pray for the people who harm and make hostility toward us. We always do the good thing until we return good for evil.
The resultis that we experience God's love which is like the sun (that changes usfrom fleshy men to spiritual ones like Jesus).
The renewal of life starts from the face or the senses, namely mouth (being honest) and ear (being obedient). It is the biggest miracle, and the physical one happens too. The sunshine (God's mercy and goodness) is able to go through the dark valley to give physical life in the midst of the difficulties of the world.
For example, the five loaves and the two fish for feeding five thousand men and there were twelve baskets that remained.
God also gives spiritual life for His servant and son who have fallen into sin up to the peak.
For example, David fell into sin with Bathsheba and killed her husband. But, David confessed his sin, so he was able to be restored.
John 11:39-40
11:39. Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."
11:40. Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"
Lazarus who had died for four days could be risen.
All of impossible problems can be finished by God. The dead becomes alive. The impossible thing becomes possible.
Mark 7:37
7:37. And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hearand the mute to speak."
God is able to do all things well until He makes all things perfect . We are worthy to greet Jesus when He comes a second time on the glorious clouds.
Revelation 19:6-7
19:6. And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
19:7. "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.
God blesses us.
