Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the arrangement of the tabernacle, Luke chapter 4 and 5 refers to
The Altar of Burnt Offerings, that is about
faith.
The Altar of Burnt Offering is the place to burn animal offering to take away the sins of Israel (God's chosen people). Now, the Altar of Burnt Offerings refers to
the cross of Christ. The animal refers to the sacrifice of Christ which is without blemish.
There are four proofs that Jesus is blamelessas follows:
- Jesus Himselfsays that He is innocent.
John 8:46
8:46. "Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?
- Judaswho betrays Jesus also acknowledges that He is innocent.
Matthew 27:3-5
27:3. Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
27:4. saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? You see to it!"
27:5. Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.
- The judge from the courtacknowledges that Jesus is innocent.
John 18:38b
18:38b And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no fault in Him at all.
- The centurionwho is hostile to Jesus acknowledges that Jesus is innocent.
Luke 23:44-47
23:44. Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
23:45. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.
23:46. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, "Father, 'into Your hands I commit My spirit.’"Having said this, He breathed His last.
23:47. So when the centurionsaw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous Man!"
By these four proofs, Jesus can be sin offering.
Acts 10:43
10:43. "To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins."In the past time, Israel had to slaughter animal sacrifices to take away the sins.
Now, if we believe to Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross,
we will receive remission of sinsthat we are saved and not punished.
Romans 10:17,9-10
10:17. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
10:9. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10:10. For with the heart one believesunto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is madeunto salvation.
The right faithcomes by hearing the Word of Christ, that is the Word that is annointed by Holy Spirit.
The processes for getting the right faith are as follows:
- Hearing the Word of Christ, that is the Word that is annointed by Holy Spirit.
The annointing of Holy Spirit is not limited by anything(age, intelligence, time, distance, et cetera).
The annointing of Holy Spirit helps us to be able to hear the Word earnestly, not to be disturbed by being sleepy or lazy, et cetera), until we can understand the Word of God and the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
- To understand the Word of Godand the sacrifice of Christ.
- Believing the Word of God and the sacrifice of Christ. It means the Word of God and the sacrifice of Christ become the right faith in our heart.
- Until the annointing of the Holy Spirit helps our mouthto confess Jesus. It means we confess sin to God and others. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore, that we are saved.
Luke 4:1-13is about
temptation in the desert, which is same as the test of faith.
Tested faith will result in the truth.
John 2:23-25
2:23. Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did.
2:24. But Jesus did not commit Himselfto them, because He knew all men,
2:25. and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.Faith must be tested, because the faith by seeing the physical signs is not tested faith and
Jesus doesnot commit Himself to them. It is same as one side faith which is weak and can betray.
Revelation 13:11-14
13:11. Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.
13:12. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13:13. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
3:14. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signswhich he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. The faith by seeing miracle signs will be able to bedeceivedby the false prophets who perform great signs, even make fire come down from heaven. Now, the fire is in the form of emotion, slander, blasphemy and untruth.
The consequenceis it causes problem and splits the body of Christ.
Only people who have tested faithcan live in righteousness and be used by God for solving problems and building the body of Christ.
The examples of the righteousare as follows:
- Abraham.
James 2:21
2:21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
Abraham is called the righteous because he passes the test of faith, that is being willing to offer Isaac his only son.
So, the righteous who passes the test of faith is person who does not refuse what God asks. He has obedience although it hurts his flesh.
The result isJehova Jireh, which means God provides something that does not exist yet.
Genesis 22:14
22:14. And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, "In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided."
Revelation 19:6-7
19:6. And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
19:7. "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lambhas come, and His wife has made herself ready."
Moreover, God providesus until we become His bridewho makes herself ready.
- Rahab.
James 2:25
2:25. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
Rahab is a gentile and harlot which means a totally worthless life. But she is called the righteous because she passes the test of faith, that is she hides two messengers with all the risks.
So, the righteous who passes the test of faith does not worry, fear, or care about his own life and family.
Joshua 2:18-19
2:18. "unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarletcord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father's household to your own home.
2:19. "So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we will be guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him.
The result is there is a line of scarlet, the sign of Christ's sacrifice.
It means as follows:
- There is God’spreservation miraculously. All Jericho is damaged, but only the life who has Christ's sacrifice can be preserved.
- The offering of Christsaves our life and family.
- Rahab exists in the Genealogy of Jesus. She accepts Jesus’ first coming.
Matthew 1:1,5
1:1. The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:
1:5. Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,
For us now, it means we will be purified and changed until we become as perfect as Him for greeting His coming on second time in the glorious clouds.
God blesses us.
