Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Overall, Luke 6 refers to righteousness, the Court of Tabernacle.
In the beginning, God creates perfect man as glorious as Him, according to His image. God puts him in Eden and he lives in happiness.
But human falls into sin, so he loses God's image, glory, holiness, and righteousness.
Consequently, they are naked, cast out to the world, to live in curse and perish.
That is why, God brings up and leads human to return to His righteousness, holiness, and glory, so they are able to return to Paradise, namely a thousand years Kingdom of Peace and enter Kingdom of Heaven.
There are seven kinds of God’s upbringing as follows:
- Luke 6:1-5is about the body is brought up by God to enter in spiritual activity.
- Luke 6:12-16 is about the soul is brought up by God that we have spiritual positionin the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Luke 6:17-19 is about the spirit is brought up by God that our spiritual is not sickbut healthy until perfect.
- Luke 6:6-11is about the deed is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:20-26 is about the mind is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:27-45is about the heart is brought up by God.
- Luke 6:46-49is about life journey is brought up by God.
Ad. 6. the heart is brought up by GodGod brings up our heart that we
imitate the heart of Jesus.
The practices are as follows:
Loving others up to enemy.
Luke 6:27-36
6:27. "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
6:28. "bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
6:29. "To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either
6:30. "Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
6:31. "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
6:32. "But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
6:33. "And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
6:34. "And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
6:35. "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
6:36. "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
The heart which is able to love others up to enemy is the heart of God the Father which is full of love and mercy, like the sun shines to the earth.
Matthew 5:44-45, 48
5:44. "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
5:45. "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
5:48. "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
How do we love others up to enemy?
There are three levels of loving others as follows:
- loving those who love us.
Luke 6:32-34
This is the lowest level of loving others.
The sinners and even people who do not know Jesus are able to love those who love them.
Do not hate those who love us! Because it is the hatred without a cause and it is the same as Satan.
- loving others like ourselves.
Luke 6:31
6:31. "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
It means as follows:
- we think, speak, and do just as we want other men to think, speak and do to us.
- do not harm others.
- we can give to others with love, truth and have no purpose to get physical advantage.
1 John 3:17-18
3:17. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
3:18. My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
- we do not owe each other physically and especially sin debt.
Having no debt means everything has been finished.
Romans 13:8-9
13:8. Owe no oneanything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
13:9. For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
- loving enemy.
Luke 6:27-30, 35-36
6:35. "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
6:36. "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
An enemy is the person who makes hostility toward us without a cause and hams us.
Loving enemy means as follows:
- we pray for the person who makes hostility toward us that he is forgiven and blessed by God.
- we return good for evil.
If we love our enemy, we have no enemy, revenge and envy. We become a one body of Christ.
If we can love others up to enemy, we get the sunlight of God the Father in our life.
The love for youth is often in the form of advice or rebuke.
Do not hate one who advises and rebukes us!
The results of the shone love of the sun are as follows:
- the promise of shield.
Psalms 84:12
84:12. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
We receive the promise of shield from God, namely protection from fiery dart of the evil.
The fiery dart of the evil can be in the form of temptation, failure in working, and sin up to the peak of sin.
By protection of God, we can be strong and of good courage against anything. We are not disappointed and desperate, but faithful and fervent in spirit in ministry. We are protected too from any disaster.
- the promise of God's love and kindnessfor taking care our life in the middle of the darkness, difficulty, and impossibility of life in the world.
God takes care of and helps us even finishes impossible thing.
- the promise of God's gloryfor changing and renewing our life from carnal men to spiritual ones like Jesus.
It starts from honesty.
Physical glory means God lifts us up in the physical life. We have beautiful, successful and happy future.
Matthew 13:43, 41-42
13:43. "Then the righteous will shineforth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
13:41. "The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
13:42. "and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
God blesses us.
