Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 9:1-2
9:1. Then He calledHis twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
9:2. He sentthem to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Jesus called and sent the twelve disciples from the Israelites.
1 Peter 2:9-102:9. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
2:10. who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. We as the Gentiles may experience the deputation of God although we once were not a people.
The steps of deputation are as follows:
- One must receive the call of God.
The Gentiles are called out of darkness into His marvelous light. It means we are released from sin by the power of Jesus' blood.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8, 11
5:7. Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
5:8. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerityand truth.
5:11. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral(1), or covetous(2), or an idolater(3), or a reviler(4), or a drunkard(5), or an extortioner(6)––not even to eat with such a person.
We must be released from these sins, so we can live in righteousness.
- Sexually immoral: sexual sins with all its kinds.
- Covetous: one cannot give. It is usually followed by being greedy, namely one robs others', especially God's, namely tithes and special offerings.
- An idolater: Idol means everything that hinders us to prioritize God.
- A reviler: true things are said false and false things are said true.
- A drunkard: sin of eating-drinking. It includes smoking.
- An extortioner.
Not only being released from sin, but we also have to avoid the people who do those sins. If we do not, we will fall into the same sin too.
- One must receive the election of God, so he becomes the priest and king.
The priest is true and holy man, one who has ministry and ministers to God faithfully and truly.
Exodus 19:6
19:6. 'And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priestsand a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."
Actually, only native Israelites as the chosen people of God that can be the priests and kings.
Genetically, the Gentiles may not and cannot become the priests and kings. That is why God opens the way through His mercythat is worth the blood of Jesus ('we who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy').
So, the price of our priesthood or ministry is worth the blood of Jesusthat cannot be bought and changed by anything.
Revelation 1:5-6
1:5. and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
1:6. and has made us kings and prieststo His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
The power of Passover is able to release us from sin and also lift us up to become the priests and kings.
We have to keep the call and election of God.
Do not be stumbled by anything, so we receive an entrance into the everlasting kingdom of Heaven.
2 Peter 1:10-11
1:10. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
1:11. for so an entrancewill be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lordand Savior Jesus Christ.
The duty of the priestis being active in ministry of the building of spiritual house or perfect body of Christ or the bride.
1 Peter 2:5
2:5. you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
The ministry of the building of body of Christ is started from household, shepherding, inter-shepherding up to the fellowship between Israel and the Gentiles as one perfect body.
In the household, husband serves as the head, wife as body and children as the part of body. The children have to obey to parents, so they lighten parents' burden.
Ephesians 2:11-16
2:11. Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh––who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands––
2:12. that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
2:13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought nearby the blood of Christ.
2:14. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
2:15. having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new manfrom the two, thus making peace,
2:16. and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
By the power of Passover, Israelites have been brought near to the Gentiles and they become one new man, one perfect body.
So, the body of Christ is a new man, namely flesh and blood man who experiences renewal to perfect one like Jesus.
There are three kinds of renewal as follows:
- The renewing through the Word of God.
1 Peter 1:23-25
1:23. having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of Godwhich lives and abides forever,
1:24. because "All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away,
1:25. But the word of the LORD endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
The proof if we experience renewal through the Word of God is we become obedient whatever we face.
The results are as follows:
- We can endure. We do not be disappointed, desperate and leave God.
We are not controlled by the death or sin, but we keep on living in righteousness and holiness although we live at unclean environment.
John 8:51
8:51. "Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death."
- We experience success from God.
John 21:6
21:6. And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
The key of success is obedience.
- The renewing through Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:5
3:5. not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Romans 12:11
12:11. not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
The proof of renewing through Holy Spirit is we become holy, faithful and fervent in spirit to serve God.
The servant of God who is holy, faithful and fervent in spirit is like flame of fire. God's eye is also like flame of fire.
So, the servant of God who is holy, faithful and fervent in spirit becomes the apple of God's eye. We are protected and cared by God.
- The renewing through the love of God.
Zephaniah 3:17-18
3:17. The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
3:18. "I will gather those who sorrow over the appointed assembly, Who are among you, To whom its reproach is a burden.
The proof of renewing through the love of God is loving one another.
1 John 4:7
4:7. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
Romans 13:8
13:8. Owe no one anythingexcept to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Loving one another means we owe nothing or we have to finish our debt especially sin debt.
We finish sin debt by confessing and forgiving one another.
So, the blood of Jesus finishes and wipes our sins. We are giving sour wine mingled with gall to God and He says, 'It is finished!'.
All of our sins are finished by the blood of Jesus and He fixes things that have not been fixed yet.
John 19:29-30
19:29. Now a vessel full of sour winewas sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
19:30. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
When God comes a second time, everything is fixed by Him and we will go out from the world. We are with Him forever.
God blesses us.
