Speaker: Rev. Mikha Sanda TodingPeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 17:1-817:1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
17:2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
17:3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
17:4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
17:6 And when the disciples heard it,they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.
17:7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, "Arise, and do not be afraid."
17:8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
The voice
"This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!" is sounded three times as follows:
- When Jesus entered the true water baptism.
Matthew 3:16-17
3:16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
3:17 And suddenly a voice camefrom heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
The true water baptism is the same as Jesus', so we are recognized by God as His children that please Him.
Romans 8:15
8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
Formerly, we were the children of Satan.
1 Thessalonians 5:5
5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
If we listen to the voice from heaven and receive Jesus as our Savior, we will become the children of God that live in light of righteousness and obedience.
The process is we believe in Jesus, repent, enter the water baptism, and we will become God's children. We live in righteousness. It starts from saying true and right words.
- When Jesus was on the holy mountain.
2 Peter 1:16-18
1:16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
1:17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
1:18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
It refers to the worship mountain. We must be obedient in worshiping.
Romans 8:4-6
8:4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who liveaccording to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
8:6 For to be carnally minded isdeath, but to be spiritually minded islife and peace.
The condition is the will of flesh must be ripped as follows:
- The will of uncleanness is the sin of eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.
Luke 17:26-27
17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
17:27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
- The will of evil is the love of money.
1 Timothy 6:10
6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds ofevil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The practices are as follows:
- Leaving the ministry to look for money or ministering to get the money.
- Being greedy and stingy. It means one cannot return God's or give to others.
- Looking for money in illegal ways.
- The wild flesh means that one hates until kills each other.
Matthew 10:21-22
10:21 "Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father hischild; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
10:22 And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
The flesh is ripped until we can obey the word and live in holiness. We lead to the building of the body of Christ.
John 10:5
10:5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers."
Let us be watchful. Do not hear the strange voice that is not according to the true teaching word.
1 Peter 3:3-6
3:3 Do not let your adornment be merelyoutward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fineapparel--
3:4 rather let it bethe hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beautyof a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
3:5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,
3:6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.
The obedience brings the victory with God.
James 4:7
4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
- On the peak of mountain.
Matthew 17:5
17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
We must be obedient that is obeying in suffering.
Hebrews 5:7-8
5:7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
5:8 though He was a Son, yetHe learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
The practice is we do not grumble in suffering but pray solemnly to God.
Philippians 2:14-15
2:14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,
2:15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
The example is Jesus at the top of suffering on the cross in Golgotha. He did not grumbled but prayed solemnly and gave His whole life.
Philippians 2:8
2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point ofdeath, even the death of the cross.
John 19:28-30
19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!"
19:29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put iton hyssop, and put itto His mouth.
19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!"And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Hebrews 5:8-10
5:8 though He was a Son, yetHe learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
5:10 called by God as High Priest "according to the order of Melchizedek,"
If we obey the word solemnly, the hands of Jesus as the High Priest will be stretched out to help us.
Hebrews 4:16
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God is able to make everything beautiful in due time. His hands are able to give the way out of all problems and make miracles. The impossible becomes possible.
Revelation 7:17
7:17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
The hands of God lead us to the living fountain of waters and wipe our tears. We enter the New Jerusalem.
Revelation 21:1-4
21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
21:3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God iswith men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and betheir God.
21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
God blesses us.
