Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14 is about the seven sprinklings of blood in front of the Ark of Covenant. It refers to the suffering in the flesh of the church together with Jesus as the last sanctification for reaching the quality of being flawless or perfect.
Revelation 14 can be divided into three parts as follows:
- Verse 1-5 = the church's following Jesus as the Lamb of God (it is explained in General Service in Malang, August 15, 2021)
- Verse 6-13 = the judgment.
- Verse 14-20 = the reaping on the earth.
ad. 1.Revelation 14:2-514:2. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters (1), and like the voice of loud thunder (2). And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps (3).14:3. They sang as it were a new song (4) before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.14:4. These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins (5). These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits (6) to God and to the Lamb.14:5. And in their mouth was found no deceit (7), for they are without fault before the throne of God.
There are seven facts about our following Jesus up to Mount Zion as follows:
- Like the voice of many waters= it cannot be blocked (it is explained from Bible Study Service in Malang, August 31, 2021to Prayer Service in Malang, September 02, 2021).
- Like the voice of loud thunder= the power of the teaching Word (it is explained in General Service in Malang, September 05, 2021).
- The sound of harpists= to be in peace, in fellowship or unity, and obeying the rules (it is explained in Bible Study in Malang, September 07, 2021to Prayer Service in Malang, September 16, 2021).
- A new song (it is explained in General Service in Malang, September 19, 2021).
- They are virgins.
- Being firstfruits to God = the quality of being firstborn.
- In their mouth was found no deceit = for they are without fault.
If the first to fourth facts are combined, these are the sounds that can thrill the heart of God. It refers to the service and ministry to God that can thrill His heart or please Him starting from now in this world.
The example of the service and ministry to God, and the worship that can thrill His heart are as follows:
- Esther said: 'And if I perish, I perish!'
- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said: "But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up"
- The woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years said: 'If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.'
These are the example from the native Israelites.
How about the Gentiles? They can too. The Canaanite woman said:
"Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."All these prayers from the examples above are answered by God.
But it does not stop there. The sounds that thrill the heart of God are starting from now and it will soar up to Revelation 19:6.
Revelation 19:6.
19:6. And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many watersand as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
So, our following God will lead us to the great multitude in the glorious clouds.
Revelation 14:314:3.They sang as it were a new songbefore the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.
Following God that thrills His heart will reach the throne of Heaven forever.
ad. 4. A new song.Revelation 14:314:3.They sang as it were a new songbefore the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.Following God like a new song means being in the experience of death and resurrection or in renewal (it is explained in
General Service in Malang,September 19, 2021) and in the redemption (It is explained in
Bible Study in Malang,September 21, 2021).
Therefore, one who experiences death and resurrection with Jesus and redemption can sing a new song.
Tonight, we take one step forward.
Psalms 149:1-2149:1.Praise the Lord!Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints.
149:2.Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King
Verse 2 =the cheering of a new song is addressed to the King.
So, following God like a new song is the same as following Jesus as the King or following God in godliness.
Godliness means being holy and faithful in the service and ministry to God, being upright/honest, and having the fear of God like Job, an Israeli.
Job 1:11:1.There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blamelessand upright, and one who feared Godand shunned evil.
This kind of person can worship the King. Then, what about the Gentiles?
Acts 10:1-210:1.There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,
10:2.a devoutman and one who feared Godwith all his household, who gave alms generouslyto the people, and prayedto God always.
'
the Italian Regiment' = the Gentiles.
We learn from Cornelius that godliness means being holy, fearing God, liking to give to others in need and to the work of God; and always praying to Him.
So, a devout man can sing a new song. It means that he can follow and worship Jesus as the King, starting from now up to the glorious clouds and before the throne of Heaven.
A man who is not devout will sing an old song or lamentation. His life is weary and in heavy burdens, hardships, and tears. It this condition continues, he will perish, and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Psalms 12:2-312:2. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
12:3. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, Beware! In the last days, the current of cults in the world can wipe out the devout man. This means that how great a devout man is, he will surely lose his godliness if he follows the world current. It starts with telling lies.
On the other hand, no matter how evil and unclean humans are, it they are willing to follow the Lord as the King, at one point they will surely become devout.
The example is the criminal who was crucified beside Jesus.
From this lesson, we learn that we must be aware. Those who have lived in godliness can become like the criminals in instant because of the world current that enters the church.
On the contrary, do not insult the wicked and unclean! Do not support them! But we pray the good for them. No matter how unclean and evil one is, he can be devout if he follows the King.
Therefore, we must maintain our following the King in godliness through worshiping Him a lot. It is the same as singing a new song, so we always give thanks to God.
The results are as follows:
- We worship Jesus as the King of glory or the King of kings, so we experience the renewal of life from the fleshly man to the spiritual one like Him.
Psalms 24:9-10
24:9.Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of gloryshall come in.
24:10.Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts,He is the King of glory.
The renewal of life starts from being honest and obedient. Then, the gate of Heaven will be open for us.
In the past, the gate of Heaven opened to cast out Adam and Eve when they were not obedient and honest. But later, the King of kings will come a second time to open the gate of Heaven and we will return there through obedience and honesty. There is no punishment but salvation, we experience the joyful of Paradise.
If the gate of Heaven is opened, other gates in the world will also be opened, namely the door of God's preservation as experienced by the widow of Zarephath. She was honest that she only had a handful of flour and a little oil. But she was obedient when she was told to make bread for the prophet first, so the condition of having nothing can be changed into having something. It means that God preserves us until the era of Antichrist up to the eternal life. All are preserved and happy.
- We worship Jesus as the Prince of Peace, so we have peace in the midst of the shakings of the world that make many people live in fear and perish. Everything is easy and light.
Isaiah 9:5
9:5. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
What makes the heart restless? Let us worship God until we can be calm down. We surrender everything to the Prince of Peace until we are calm.
Being calm in the midst of shakings means that all our burdens have been borne by Jesus on the cross, so everything becomes easy and light.
- We worship Jesus as the great King whose the Name is feared by Satan, so we experience His power.
Malachi 1:14
1:14. "But cursed be the deceiver who has in his flock a male, and takes a vow, but sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished--For I am a great King," says the Lord of hosts,"And My name is to be fearedamong the nations.
Do not be ashamed to shout the Name of Jesus!
The power of His Name can defeat the trinity of Satan as follows:
- Satan is the source of sins up to the peak. This is the one that makes the devout man devoured by the world. Be careful! Unclean people chase the devout ones to make them unclean.
The power of the Name of Jesus defeats Satan, so we can live in holiness, faithfulness, and godliness.
- Satan is the source of the impossible problems. The power of the Name of Jesus can solve all the impossible ones.
- Satan is the source of the destruction of the world. The power of the Name of Jesus is able to make the broken things become good, until everything is good, successful, and beautiful in His time.
When Jesus comes a second time, we will be renewed in a flash to be perfect like Him to be worthy of welcoming His coming in the glorious clouds.
In this opportunity, let us come to God. We worship the King whatever our conditions are.
For you who have been broken, do not lose hope! For you who have succeeded, do not be careless!
We welcome His coming until we sing a new song before the throne of Heaven. May all our family be there.
God blesses us.
