Matthew 25:16-30 is about
ATTITUDE TO TALENTS.
After receiving talents, we have to keep them because we have to account the ministry on Jesus' second coming.
The positive attitude was shown by the servant receiving five talents and the servant receiving two talents = good and faithful servant. As a result, there is wage for present life up to the eternal one.
The negative attitude was shown by the servant receiving one talent.
Matthew25:18,24-26,3025:18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money.
25:24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, thereyou have what isyours.'
25:26"But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.
25:30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
The servant receiving one talent hid the talent in the ground such that he is called
wicked and lazy servant.
WICKED SERVANT1 John3:11-12,153:11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
3:12 not as Cain whowas of the wicked one and murderedhis brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
3:15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.Cain represents wicked servant because he murdered Abel.
Murdering = hating =
without love to the others.
Cain murdered Abel because his deeds were evil and Abel's deeds were right.
Cain and Abel denote the marital life and the relation between God's servants.
Within marriage and ministry,
there will be many people hate righteous life.
If all is right, there will be no problem. But if there is righteous life and wrong life, there must be hatred.
The other examples of people who hate righteous life are Joseph's brothers to Joseph, because Joseph was used by God by having the gift of dream/the gift of revelation of the Word.
Genesis37:2-437:2 This isthe history of Jacob.Joseph, beingseventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. And the lad waswith the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.
37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he wasthe son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of manycolors.
37:4 But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him.
LAZY SERVANTProverbs20:420:4 The lazy manwill not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and havenothing. Lazy servant is the servant who does not want to work/serve because of winter.
Winter = spiritually cold =
without God's love.
Matthew24:1224:12 And because lawlessness will abound,
the love of many will grow cold.
In shorts, the wicked and lazy servant is
the servant of God who serves without love.
Serving without love = useless = lawlessness.
The consequence is being cast into the outer darkness/into the hell.
After receiving the ministry, we also have to receive God's love such that we can serve with love.
The process of receiving God's love is as follows:- Reconciliation, which means:
- Realizing, regretting, and confessing the sins solemnly to the Lord and to the others.
Solemnly = with a contrite heart, with tears.
If we are being forgiven, we shall no longer do the sins.
- Forgiving the others' sins which have been confessed solemnly, and forgetting the sins.
Therefore, reconciliation is being contrite or weeping because of sins, that is being contrite to confess the sins and forgive the others' sins.
The results of reconciliation are as follows:
- We receive God's love such that we can serve with love.
Proverbs28:13
28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakesthemwill have mercy.
Forsaking the sins = not doing sins anymore.
- Love covers a multitude of sins such that we can live in righteousness (serving with righteousness = instruments of righteousness).
1 Peter4:8
4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."
Serving with righteousness will be acceptable to the Lord and we will be surrounded by God.
God does not seek for great servant, but God seeks for righteous servant.
Psalm5:13
5:13 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround himas witha shield.
Being surrounded by God means that we are being protected from all disasters and being cared for our present life up to the eternal one. If we keep the sins, God will not surround us and none will account for us on God's punishment day. God surrounds us until we become blameless and perfect as Jesus on His second coming.
- Worshiping God with a contrite heart/with tears.
Isaiah38:1-5
38:1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Set your house in order, for you shall dieand not live.'"
38:2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD,
38:3 and said, "Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what isgood in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
38:4 And the word of the LORD came to Isaiah, saying,
38:5 "Go and tell Hezekiah, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years.
Hezekiah is a loyal and faithful God's servant, but he was convicted to die by God (experiencing the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus).
Hezekiah wept bitterly as a baby, meaning worshiping with a broken heart, confessing that he has no strength and is not worthy, only hanging on God's merciful hands.
When we experience the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus, do not blame the others or blame God, but we have to worship Him.
The result is God's hands are stretched out to bring in miracles:
- Physical miracle is making possible the impossible problems.
- Spiritual miracle is receiving forgiveness and renewal of life from flesh men to spiritual men until we become as glorious as God on Jesus' second coming. We will enter the marriage supper of the Lamb on the glorious clouds, enter the Paradise until enter the New Jerusalem.
God blesses you.
