Speaker: Rev. Mikha Sanda Toding (Palangkaraya)Peace and grace in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 10:1-410:1. And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
10:3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. Chapter 8-10 of Matthew in Tabernacle teaching refers to the Altar of Burnt Offering, that is Jesus who has offered His own life to forgive, sanctify, and perfect us.
Jesus calls the twelve disciples to be with Him and to send them in the ministry according to the will of God.
There are three kinds of God’s will in our life as follows.
- To call us, the sinners, to go out of the sins, live in righteousness, and get the salvation.
Romans 8:28-30
8:28And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the calledaccording to His purpose.
8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
8:30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
We are in bad condition and destruction in sins when we are called.
Romans 3:10
3:10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;
After being justified, we should not be proud of anything because all things happen only by the grace and kindness of God who has saved us.
Acts 2:36-38
2:36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredlythat God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christfor the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The process of receiving the calling of God is as follows.
- Believing in Jesus through hearing the Word of God.
- Repenting, meaning we stop sinning to return to God.
- Being baptized in water and Holy Spirit.
Afterwards, we are justified through the remission of sins and saved. The proof of being called is our righteous life.
- To choose usto become priest and king who minister to God righteously and faithfully.
1 Peter 2:9
2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
We are chosen of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues. The proof of being chosen is we are sanctified to minister to God.
Exodus 29:1a
29:1. "And this is what you shall do to them to hallow them for ministering to Me as priests:
The process of being chosen is through the sanctification in shepherding system. It means perseverance in doing three main services to God, namely General Service, Bible Study Service with Holy Communion, and Prayer Service.
Revelation 7:9
7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
What must be sanctified?
- The influence of nationsas follows.
- Uncleanness sins, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage. In addition, we are sanctified from the influence of false teaching that causes uncleanness.
Revelation 17:1-2
17:1. Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,
17:2 "with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication."
As a result, we can live in holiness and minister to God holily.
- Anxiety.
Matthew 6:30-32, 25
6:30"Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
6:31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
6:32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
6:25. "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
It means worrying about daily life and the future one.
1 Corinthians 7:32
7:32 But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord––how he may please the Lord.
It is also worrying or doubting because of temptation.
James 1:6
1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Consequently, one is tossed by the wind and the prayer is not answered by God, so he receives nothing.
The election of God comes upon the people who want to be sanctified from sins and anxiety.
- The characteristics of the Gentiles, referring to the donkey.
Matthew 21:1-2
21:1. Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
21:2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me.
Meaning prioritizing physical things more than the spiritual ones.
- The influence of tribes or families.
It means we are sanctified from the influence of flesh, namely the strength, position, riches, intelligence, et cetera.
Jeremiah 9:23
9:23. Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
We must rely on the power of Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 4:6
4:6 So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.
Ministering to God with flesh power, one will live in curse.
Jeremiah 17:5-6
17:5. Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.
17:6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited
On the contrary, we must minister to God with the power of Holy Spirit, so we can be obedient. As a result, we get success in our life.
- The influence of tongues.
John 8:43-44
8:43 "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.
8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
It means being sanctified from lie, so we can say righteously.
On the contrary, lying means placing Satan as the father. The lie is the language of the world that cannot be used in heaven.
Ephesians 4:25
4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.
The other kinds of the language of the world are as follows.
- Gossip, whisperings, slander.
2 Corinthians 12:20
12:20 For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults;
- Grumble, especially in facing temptations.
James 5:9
5:9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!
- Corrupt word.
Ephesians 4:29
4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
- Meaningless saying or the rude one.
Colossians 4:5-6
4:5. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
We are sanctified, so we have righteous and holy language, namely the love language until the peak, that is in our worship to God with saying Alleluia.
Revelation 19:6
19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
The result of experiencing the sanctification from the nations, tribes/families, and tongues until we can worship God is as follows.
- The rain of blessings is poured, namely physical blessings and spiritual one, namely Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 14:17
14:17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain.
Holy Spirit gives us consolation and help.
John 15:26
15:26. "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
John 14:16
14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever––
He gives us extra power, so we are able to minister to God.
Romans 8:26
8:26. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
He helps us in our weakness, so we do not dwell in it but we can pray to God. Afterwards, God makes all things in our life good.
- God gives us victory.
1 Corinthians 15:25-26
15:25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
- God opens doors for us, namely the door of beautiful future life up to the door of heaven.
Luke 23:41-43
23:41 "And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."
23:42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."
23:43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
- To specialize us.
Leviticus 21:12
21:12 'nor shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
We are specialized to get the preservation of God up to the days when antichrist reigns over the world so that we are fled to the wilderness.
God blesses you.
