Matthew 12:9-15a
12:9 Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue.
12:10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—that they might accuse Him.
12:11 Then He said to them,“What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and liftitout?
12:12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
12:13 Then He said to the man,“Stretch out your hand.”And he stretcheditout, and it was restored as whole as the other.
12:14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.
12:15 But when Jesus knewit,He withdrew from there.

Matthew chapter 12 in Tabernacle refers to the Door of Tabernacle or infilling of Holy Spirit.
A withered hand refers to the spiritual dryness and death. This happens among congregation. The cause is as follows:

  1. Being trapped in wickedness and uncleanness.
    Acts 8:23
8:23 For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

The evil desire causes the physical things and sacrifices the spiritual ones until he perishes like Judas.

    Acts 1:18

1:18 Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.

It also causes one to be little the spiritual things and exaggerate the physical ones like Esau.

    Hebrews 12:16

12:16 lest therebeany fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

The uncleanness desire is the sin of eating drinking and marrying-being given in marriage.

    Luke 17:27
17:27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

  2. Being trapped in sin of pride and desperation.
    Luke 18:9-14
18:9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
18:10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
18:12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
18:13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raisehiseyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justifiedratherthan the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

    Ezekiel 37:1-2, 11

37:1 The hand of theLordcame upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of theLord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and itwasfull of bones.
37:2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there werevery many in the open valley; and indeedthey werevery dry.
37:11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’

Desperation happens because of hoping to others but not to God.

  3. Being trapped in sin of stumble.
    1 Peter 2:8
2:8 and “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

To stumble and become stumbling stone happens because the one disobeys the Word of God and does not respect the sacrifice of Jesus that has forgiven us. Thus, the one only sees the weakness of others and difficultly confesses and forgives others’ sin.

    Galatians 5:11

5:11 And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.

Matthew 12:13
12:13 Then He said to the man,“Stretch out your hand.”And he stretcheditout, and it was restored as whole as the other.

God helps the life who withers spiritually by stretching His hand to lift up us.

Romans 10:21

10:21 But to Israel he says: “All day long I have stretched out My hand to a disobedient and contrary people.”

God always stretches His hand toward us through two kinds of Word as follows:

  1. The gospel of salvation or gospel Word.
    Ephesians 1:13
1:13 In Him you alsotrusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

The proof that we receive the gospel of salvation is life in righteousness.

    2 Peter 3:13-14

3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
    3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

We are reconciled or confess the sin to God and fellows.

  2. The gospel of glory or the true teaching Word.
    2 Corinthians 4:3-4
4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

    1 Peter 1:22

1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spiritin sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,

The proof that we receive the gospel of glory is life in obedience to God.

Exodus 14:15-16
14:15 And theLordsaid to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.
14:16 But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on drygroundthrough the midst of the sea.

We stretch out our hand and worship God, and then the result is experiencing the miracle from Him that are the spiritual and physical blessing.

Isaiah 44:3
44:3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring;

The spiritual blessing is Holy Spirit. The function of Holy Spirit is as comforter.

John 14:26-27
14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Holy Spirit helps and accompanies us.

John 14:16-17

14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Romans 8:26

8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for uswith groanings which cannot be uttered.

Holy Spirit helps and gives extra strength toward us.

Zechariah 4:6

4:6 So he answered and said to me: “Thisisthe word of theLordto Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says theLordof hosts.

Zephaniah 3:17

3:17 TheLordyour God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save;He will rejoice over you with gladness,He will quietyouwith His love,He will rejoice over you with singing.”

The blessing of love of God will change us from the carnal men to the spiritual ones. When Jesus comes a second we will be as glorious as He is. We will be with God forever.

God blesses us.
