peaker: Rev. Mikha Sanda TodingMatthew 15:21-2815:21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed."
15:23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, "Send her away, for she cries out after us."
15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
15:25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!"
15:26 But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw itto the little dogs."
15:27 And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."
15:28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great isyour faith! Let it be to you as you desire."And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
There are a lot of sufferings in this world in economy, health,
et cetera. But the hardest problems are about marriage and children. We bring our problems to God but the obstacles are as follows:
- [Verse 23a] God does not answer yet.
How our attitude is if our prayer is not answered yet by God.
- [Verse 23b] We are blocked or limited or prohibited to come to God.
- [Verse 24, 26] He answers our prayer but it does not satisfy us yet. God's answer is like despising us.
A woman still comes to God even though there are many obstacles because she needs Him, the One who is able to help.
The steps to get close to God are as follows:
- Getting close to God as He is the salvation.
Psalm 62:1
62:1 Truly my soul silently waitsfor God; from Him comesmy salvation.
The process is believing in Jesus, repenting, and entering water baptism.
Ephesians 2:11-13
2:11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh--who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands--
2:12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
The conditions of Gentiles are the Uncircumcision spiritually, without Christ (the anointing), without promise (salvation), and without hope and love of God (love). There is an opportunity to get close to God. It is God first who looks for sinner. The facility to get close to God is the blood of Christ. The sin makes us separate from God and He cannot answer our prayer.
We must experience the reconciliation from sin by the blood of Christ so we can be close to God. The process is we stop sinning and return to God. We confess the sin to God and others honestly. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore. The blood of Jesus will forgive our sins.
Romans 8:15
8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
We can be close to God and He answers our prayer.
- Getting close to God as He is the Shepherd.
Luke 10:38-39
10:38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.
We can sit on the grass and be shepherded to receive the true teaching Word that gives peace.
Psalm 23:1-2
23:1 The Lordismy shepherd;I shall not want.
23:2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
We experience the purification by the true shepherding Word.
Luke 10:41
10:41 And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.
We are purified from weariness so we can live without worry.
Matthew 6:25-32
6:25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
6:26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
6:27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
6:28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
6:29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
6:30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will Henot much more clotheyou, O you of little faith?
6:31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
6:32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
We often worry of our daily needs, future, marriage, occupation, and ministry.
1 Corinthians 7:32
7:32 But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord--how he may please the Lord.
Our business is serving and ministering God solemnly, and then He will give the best.
Luke 10:42
10:42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."
The daily needs for today and future are God's business. We get calmness from God.
Luke 10:41
10:41 And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.
We are purified from trouble about physical things, so we can look for spiritual things. The problem of seeing the weakness in marriage must be brought in prayer so our tears are wiped. We receive the joy from God.
- Getting close to God as He is the Head.
James 4:8
4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse yourhands, yousinners; and purify yourhearts, youdouble-minded.
The process comes from the true worshiping. The conditions of the true worshipping are as follows:
- The heart is purified through the sword of the Word that is sharp.
- Hands or deeds are purified.
- Mouth is purified.
James 4:11a
4:11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. ...
We can say true Words, give thank, and worship God. God will draw near to us. We experience the mercy hands of God which are stretched out to help our life in time.
Hebrew 4:14-16
4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast ourconfession.
4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all pointstempted as we are, yetwithout sin.
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
If we are not helped yet by God, it means there is time to get close to God and pray to Him, until we feel the peace and everything becomes light and easy.
Revelation 7:17
7:17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
God leads us to the living fountain of waters, we are cared by God from now, future, until eternal life. Until we are brought to the New Jerusalem where there is no more tear.
Revelation 21:3-4
21:3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God iswith men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and betheir God.
21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
We are close to God like John leaning on Jesus' chest.
John 13:23
13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.
Do not become like Judas who leans on the world (money) until being possessed by Satan. Let us draw near to God like a woman whose is demon-possessed so we can be healed.
God blesses us.
