(To Coincide with Fasting Prayer Service Session III)Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 6:16-176:16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
6:17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,The sign of the wrong fasting prayer is as follows (verse 16):
1. Prioritizing the physical things.
2. A sad countenance means keeping the heart that is not holy.
3. Hypocrite or keeping attitudes of flesh.
The sign of the right fasting prayer is as follows (verse 17):
1. Anoint your head means our thought is anointed by Holy Spirit.
2. Wash your face means the heart is sanctified by the Word of God.
Thus, the right fasting prayer is giving opportunity widely for the Word of God in anointing of Holy Spirit or the Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword to sanctify our heart and mind. It determines the joy of our life until the eternal life.
Our heart and mind are sanctified, and then we will see God. We are able to see God and only seeing God. Seeing God is seeing the true teaching Word. It is equal with having the spiritual sight.
Our sight determines whether our life is beautiful or not.
For example is Eve. She sees the fruit that is forbidden by God; consequently she falls in sin and curse. Esau is great but has flesh sight. The result is tears forever.
Judas is an apostle and a treasurer, but his life perishes because of having money sight.
The spiritual sight is the faith sight.
2 Corinthians 5:75:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. For example is Abraham that has faith sight thus he can obey the Word when God commands him to go out from his country to the place that he does not know before. Abraham also obeys the Word when God commands him to present Isaac, his only son.
The faith sight is not from seeing but hearing and doing the true teaching Word.
The practice of having the spiritual sight or faith sight is as follows:
- Being confident or enduring.
2 Corinthians 5:8
5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
It means we are not doubtful facing the false teaching but holdfast to the true teaching Word. We do not doubt, disappoint or grumble facing the temptation and sorrow but always give thanks, trust, and hope in God. Facing the sin up to the peak of sin, we are able to live in righteousness and holiness.
1 Peter 1:5-7
1:5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, beingmuch more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
God allows the test for increasing our faith to be the perfect one as the pure gold or golden pot that had the manna in Tabernacle.
Hebrews 11:1, 3
11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
The perfect faith is to make something that does not exist yet. The impossible things become possible and we can welcome Jesus’ second coming.
1 Peter 1:7
1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, beingmuch more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
- To make an effort for our life is always well pleasing to God.
2 Corinthians 5:9
5:9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
Well pleasing life to God means as follows:
- To be afraid of sinning but living in righteousness.
Acts 10:35
10:35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
- To be priests and kings or the servant that is well pleasing God.
1 Peter 2:5
2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
John 4:34
4:34 Jesus said to them,“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
The ministry that is well pleasing to God is obeying the Word and being faithful until the end. It is the ministry that satisfies God. It is like giving meal and drink to God, then He will satisfy us. God’s business is giving meal and drink for us. We live from God’s mercy. We can live anywhere, anytime, in any condition until eternal life forever.
On the contrary, if we are not obedient and faithful, we will be vomited like congregation of Laodicea.
- To be ready to appear before the judgment seat of Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:10
5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the thingsdonein the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Giving account to the sins that we have done. To be ready to appear before the judgment seat of Christ, we must be reconciled and finish the sin that we have done, said, and thought.
Making peace means confessing the sin to God and fellows. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore. We have forgive and forget the other’s sin.
Until our heart feels peace or we do not accuse as well as we are not accused. We feel nothing that flesh can feel, but only the love of God. Heart feels calm and rest in Holy Spirit. Heart is fulfilled and anointed and placed by Holy Spirit.
The result if heart becomes the place of Holy Spirit is as follows:
- Holy Spirit is able to make labor and heavy burden become easy and light.
- Holy Spirit enables us to testify.
John 15:25-27
15:25 Butthis happenedthat the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’
15:26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
15:27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
We testify about the Good Tidings to sinner to be saved and the Bride Tidings to saved people to be sanctified until perfected.
- Holy Spirit sanctifies and changes the Gentiles or the dog and sow into the sheep of God.
Romans 15:16
15:16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
It continues until we become the Bride of Heaven. The spiritual miracle happens, then Holy Spirit is also able to do the physical one. He is able to recover something that has been broken. When Jesus comes a second, we are changed as glorious as He is and we will be with Him forever.
God blesses us.
