Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Exodus 3:1
3:1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
Moses was educated in the palace of Egypt to build the characteristic of a king.
Nevertheless, being the servant of God does not depend on cleverness. For that reason, Moses entered the shepherding so that his heart could be built.
There must be the following three experiencesto become the servant of God:
- Purification with fire [Exodus 3:1-5].
- Purification with voice [Exodus 3:6].
- Equipment [Exodus 3:13-22].
We learn the first point, namely the purification with fire.
Exodus 3:1-5
3:1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 3:2 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.3:3 Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn." 3:4 So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." 3:5 Then He said, "Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground."The purification with fire is especially for the servant of God from the tribe of Levi.
Malachi 3:1-3
3:1 "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts. 3:2 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire And like launderer's soap. 3:3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness.
Jeremiah 23:29
23:29 "Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? The fire refers to the true teaching Word.
The purification with the fire of the true teaching Word will resultin the things as follows:
- The servant of God who is like the pure gold and silver.
The pure silver refers to the righteous tongue or there is no more lie.
Proverb 10:20
10:20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little.
The tongue is a rudder. If the tongue is right, the destination will be right to the New Jerusalem.
The pure gold refers to endurance and neither getting disappointed nor desperate.
2 Timothy 2:20-21
2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
2:21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
Being the servant of God who appears as gold and silver, we will be employed in the work for honor, namely the revival of the building of the perfect body of Christ.
If we refuse to be purified by the fire of the teaching Word, we will be like the grass that will be burned.
- The servant of God who survives until the second coming of Jesus.
- We become God's that cannot be charged against by anything.
Haggai 2:8
2:8 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts.
The purification of the servant of God starts from shepherding.
The limit of purification is reaching the peak of Mount Horeb or the mountain of God.
The meanings are as follows:
- We are far from worldly things. We are not affected by physical things. We focus to heavenly things.
- We live in worshiping.
The measurement of worship prayer is not the broken heart or how long we pray, but the ripping of flesh. We can obey God until the flesh does not sound anymore. We can cry out "Abba, Father."
Romans 8:15
8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
Holy Spirit will dominate our life. The proof is that we do not fear anymore, but get the peace and we surrender fully to God.
Acts 2:1-4
2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Actually, Holy Spirit is only for Israel.
Acts 10:44-46
10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,
Nevertheless, we give thanks to God because the opportunity for the Gentiles to experience and overflow in the anointing of Holy Spirit is opened.
The results are as follows:
- The spiritual miracle. Holy Spirit burns the Gentiles from the dog and sow hat stink to become fragrance.
Romans 15:16
15:16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
We are employed to spread the fragrance of Christ through the Good News and the Bride Tidings.
- The physical miracle. The mountain is flattened. Holy Spirit is able to help us in solving problems.
Zechariah 4:6-9
4:6 So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts.
4:7 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"
4:8 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
4:9 "The hands of Zerubbabel Have laid the foundation of this temple; His hands shall also finish it. Then you will know That the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.
We become strong and of good courage until the end line or the second coming of Jesus.
If the mountain can be flattened, Holy Spirit is able to give the beautiful and successful future.
- Holy Spirit lifts us up when Jesus comes a second time.
2 Kings 2:11
2:11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
God blesses us.
