Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 4:6-7
4:6 Before the throne there wasa sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, werefour living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
4:7 The first living creature waslike a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature waslike a flying eagle.
We are learning about four living creatures in the midst of and around the throne. The four living creatures refer to four personas of man who ever lived in the world with the ambience of heaven. They lived until they were lifted up to heaven. They are Enoch, Moses, Elijah, and Jesus.
The appearance of the four living creatures is as follows:
- The first living creature was like a lion; referring to the character of Jesus as the King.
- The second living creature was like a calf; referring to the character of Jesus as the Servant.
- The third living creature had a face like a man; referring to the character of Jesus as a Man who suffers until dies on the cross.
- The fourth living creature was like a flying eagle; referring to the character of Jesus as the glorious Son of God.
It makes the cross if those points are connected.
Thus, the four living creatures are the four personas of man who ever experience the cross so they can live in the ambience of the throne of heaven even though they live in the midst of perverse generation.
We must experience the cross so we can live in ambience of the throne of heaven until we are lifted up to heaven when Jesus comes a second time.
One of the forms of cross is worship prayer with fasting.
Mark 2:18-20
2:18 The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, "Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?"
2:19 And Jesus said to them, "Can the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
2:20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days. The time to fast is when we are separated from Jesus the Bridegroom of Heaven. The proof is as follows:
- There is unsolved problem especially the one of marriage and children.
- Jesus was lifted up to heaven and He has not come yet at the second time.
The purpose of fasting is we become one with Jesus. It means all problems are solved by God. Until we become one with Jesus on the glorious clouds and sit together with Him on the throne of heaven forever.
Mark 2:21-22
2:21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse.
2:22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins."
The result of fasting is we experience the life renewal from carnal man to spiritual one like Jesus. There are two kinds of life renewal as follows:
- The cloth or the behavior renewal.
The old garment refers to the wrong saying, lie, gossip, slander, and blasphemies. Through fasting prayer, we are changed to say right, holy, and good words to become blessing for others. The old garment also refers to the evil and unclean deed as well as the one that harms others. Through fasting prayer, we are changed to do the right, holy, and good things.
The cloth is changed to become the bride cloth, fine linen, clean, and bright. So we are ready to greet Jesus at His second time on the glorious clouds.
Revelation 19:8
19:8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
- The wineskins or the heart renewal.
There are three kinds of heart that must be renewed as follows:
- The cold heart. It is without the love of God.
Matthew 24:12
24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
The practice is one is not faithful, fervent, and obedient to the Word in ministry. The result is failure and being naked.
Through fasting prayer, the cold heart is changed to become the heart full of God's love so we can minister God in faithfulness and fervency and obey His Word. It is the beginning of success and joy.
- The dark heart.
Mark 7:21-23
7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
7:22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
7:23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man."
The dark heart and mind are filled by twelve evil and unclean wills so the life becomes evil and unclean; it leads to the building of Babylon that will be destroyed forever.
Through fasting prayer the dark heart is changed to become the light one. The holy heart is filled by twelve loaves which are arranged in two rows, six in a row. They refer to the 66 books in Bible or the true teaching Word. The Word becomes a brake so we will not sin but live in righteousness and holiness.
- The weak heart.
The heart that easily stumbles, gets disappointed and desperate, and leaves God. Also the heart of unsteady stance that is not follows God but man.
1 Corinthians 8:7-9
8:7 However, there isnot in everyone that knowledge; for some, with consciousness of the idol, until now eat itas a thing offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
8:8 But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse.
8:9 But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.
Through fasting prayer we are changed to become strong and of good courage, holding fast the true teaching Word.
The new heart is the place for the new wine or the power of Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:26-28
8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will ofGod.
8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to Hispurpose.
Holy Spirit helps us to worship God with groaning which cannot be uttered or the broken heart. We confess that we are powerless, incapable, unworthy, and worthless. We have a lot of mistakes and weaknesses. We only depend on the hand of Holy Spirit. Then, Holy Spirit is able to make everything good, finished, and beautiful in time.
Titus 3:5
3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Until we are changed to become perfect as Jesus is when He comes a second time. We sit together with Him on the throne of heaven forever.
God blesses us.
