Matthew 25:31-34225:31. "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
25:32. "All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
25:33. "And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
25:34. "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:On Jesus' second coming, He appears as King of kings and Chief Shepherd to divide sheep from the goats.
Having already existed at right shepherding, we still have to struggle, because there is a separation between sheep and goats.
Sheep's position are on the right side, and it will enter the everlasting kingdom of Heaven.
Goats' position are on the left side, and it will go away into fire/everlasting punishment, that is hell [Matthew 25:41].
From now on, we have to stabilize our position as sheepon the God's right hand.
Hebrews 12:212:2. looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.How do we stabilize our position as sheep?
Our eyes must look unto Jesus as High Priest who is sitting on the right hand of Father God's throne. It means
following the example of Jesus as High Priest.
There are 2 Jesus' examplesas High Priestas follows:
- Imitate Jesus' holiness
Hebrews 7:26
7:26. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;
Where can we livein holiness?
The answer is in the Holy Place, where there are 3 tools referring to perseverance in 3 main services= be in the sheepfold.
How can we be sanctified?
Hebrews 4:12-13
4:12. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
4:13. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
By Word of God sharper than any two edged sword, by true teaching Word.
What must be sanctified?
Beginning from wicked and unclean heart and mind.
Mark 7:21-22
7:21. "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries(1), fornications(2), murders(3),
7:22. "thefts(4), covetousness(5), wickedness(6), deceit(7), lewdness(8), an evil eye(9), blasphemy(1), pride(11), foolishness(12).
Heart and mind which contains 12 wicked and unclean wills must be stabbed by the sword. If the heart and mind are sanctified, deed and saying will be sanctified too, until one day, we are flawless and perfect like Jesus is.
- Imitate Jesus' heart fortitude.
Hebrews 12:3
12:3. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
Fortitude = being strong and of good courage, meaning:
- Not being weak, no despair, not being dissappointed when facing temptation, but only hoping in God's mercy and kindness.
- Not doing sins, not agreeing with sins in any situation and condition we face.
- Holding fast true teaching Word whatever the risk.
One example of being strong and of good courage is king Davidas follows:
- David was strong and of good courage when facing Goliath, only hoped in God's mercy.
1 Samuel 17:11,36
17:11. When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.
17:36. "Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God."
When Goliath was defeated, it means God's Hand of mercy and kindness is able to take care our life in the middle of troubles, and impossibilities, and able to fix all our problems even the impossibleones.
- David was strong and of good courage when facing Saul
1 Samuel 24:4-7
24:4. So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs. (David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.)
24:5. Then the men of David said to him, "This is the day of which the LORD said to you, 'Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.'"And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe.
24:6. Now it happened afterward that David's heart troubled him because he had cut Saul's robe.
24:7. And he said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD'S anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD."
David didn't kill Saul even though he had a chance, meaning:
- not doing sin even though there is a chance.
- not returning evil for evil or, but returning good for evil= appreciating Holy Spirit's annoinment.
1 Samuel 24:21
24:21. "And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
The result is God's mercy and kindness are able to lift David up to become king, meaning God's Hand of mercy and kindness gives good future(from shepherd to king).
- David was strong and of good courage when facing Nathan who reproved him hard.
2 Samuel 12:12-13
12:12. 'For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.'"
12:13. So David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.
It means receiving hard reproving Word, so we can confess the sins. After being forgiven, do not do the sins anymore.
The result is God's Hand of mercy and kindness liftsus from our fall in sin, and makes failurebecome success.
Even, David exists in the genealogy of Jesus (in Matthew), meaning David can accept Jesus's first coming.
Matthew 1:1
1:1. The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:
For us right now, it means we can be lifted to glorious clouds for greeting when Jesus comes a second time as King of kings and Shepherd who leads us to the last shepherding in New Jerusalem.
This is called as David's key, or God's mercy and kindness. Whatever David's condition (facing Goliath and Saul, and falling down), as long as he existed in God's mercy and kindness, he still could be helped. So do we, whatever our condition, as long as we live in holiness and have strong and good courage, we live in God's Hand of mercy and kindness.
God blesses us.
