(To Coincide with Fasting Prayer Service Session III)Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 3:2-33:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.
3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
The last purification for the church in Sardis or us as God’s congregation is we must experience the spiritual revival so we are always watchful. We must be watchful in two things as follows:
- Being watchful in consecration or ministry.
- Being watchful about Jesus’ second coming. The time of His second coming is like a thief.
Mark 13:33, 3513:33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.
13:35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—There are four kinds of time to watch as follows:
- In the evening
- At midnight
- At the crowing of the roaster
- In the morning
We are learning the fourth point, namely in the morning. We must watch our attention (to the prophetic Word) and attitude (it is more blessed to give than to receive).
John 21:1-421:1 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself:
21:2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sonsof Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.
21:3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
21:4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
Before Jesus’ second coming, we must watch about disobedient character because it happens among the servants of God and it spreads quickly. The result of disobeying God is one cannot catch or do anything. It means total failure, being naked and perdition forever.
John 21:5-621:5 Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?”They answered Him, “No.”
21:6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
Jesus comes with the true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword which is able to purify our life. It starts from purifying our heart and mind.
When God’s Word points our condition, the right thing is we confess our sin honestly. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore. It is the shortest way to be helped by God.
Peter and the others experience the purifying of mind or logic. Thus, they are able to obey the Word when they are told to spread the net on beach at daylight.
If heart and mind are purified, we can practice the Word even though it is not logical. We can obey until the flesh does not sound anymore whatever the risk may come. It means we have the character of Jesus.
The heart and mind are purified so we can obey. It is the strong base for receiving the Holy Spirit.
Acts 5:325:32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and soalso isthe Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”Actually Holy Spirit is the promise of God for Israel. Because of His mercy, Holy Spirit is also poured for Gentiles.
Acts 10:44-4510:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
How great the Gentiles are, without Holy Spirit their condition is like the woman of Samaria who never feels satisfaction.
John 4:9, 15-184:9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
4:15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
4:16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
4:17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’
4:18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”The meaning is as follows:
- Living in bitterness, hatred, envy, revenge, et cetera.
- Living in uncleanness sin, divorce and remarrying.
The woman of Samaria is able to confess the sin honestly to God and others. It is like giving a drink for Jesus at the cross with the sour wine mingled with gall. Then He will give the water of life (Holy Spirit) that satisfies the Gentiles so they can live in righteousness and holiness, and become the sweet life that can testify and worship God.
John 4:394:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I everdid.”If the spiritual miracle (the life renewal) happens, the physical one also happens.
Exodus 14:2114:21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lordcaused the sea to go backby a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.
Holy Spirit is able to give the way out from any troubles even the impossible ones. There is successful and beautiful future. We are employed by God in the revival of Holy Spirit at the last rain that is the revival of the building of the perfect body of Christ.
When Jesus comes a second time, Holy Spirit changes us to become as glorious as He is, we become the Bride of Heaven who is ready to greet His second coming on glorious clouds.
God blesses us.
