Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Exodus 12:3-5 tells about Passover.
Exodus12:3-512:3 "Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: 'On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. 12:4 'And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man's need you shall make your count for the lamb. 12:5 'Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. A lamb of Passover is fulfilled by the sacrifice of Christ or the Lamb of God, so we do not need to bring a lamb anymore.
The conditions of the lamb of Passover or the sacrifice of Christare as follows:
- Male.
Isaiah9:5
9:5 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Sonis given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
A Son refers to Jesus. The son refers to a man or the male.
Matthew1:21
1:21 "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."
- The first year of age.
A lamb at a year of age is mature.
Luke3:23
3:23 Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,
Numbers4:3
4:3 "from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting.
Jesus starts His works at thirty years of age according to the scribe. It refers to fulfilling the scribe and maturity. We must be at spiritual maturity to serve God.
Hebrews5:12-14
5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
5:13 For everyone who partakes only of milkis unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
5:14 But solid foodbelongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
There are two kinds of spiritual foodas follows:
- The milk or the gospel word for children or the lives who have just known Jesus.
- The solid food or the teaching word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
We must eat the solid food or the true teaching word, so we become mature, have a good conscience, and are able to differentiate the right and wrong. It starts from discerning the true teaching and the false one. It continues to distinguishing the true ministry, worship, marriage up to everything and the false ones.
If we reach the spiritual maturity, we can ministry God and others.
- Without blemish.
Jesus is right and without blemish. The three proofs are as follows:
- The centurion is the enemy of Jesus or a Gentile who does not know about Him, but he considers Jesus as the righteous man.
Luke23:47
23:47 So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous Man!"
- Pilate confesses that Jesus has no fault.
John18:38
18:38 Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no fault in Him at all.
- Judas Iscariot, the servant of the Lord who becomes His betrayer, says that Jesus is innocent.
Matthew27:3-4
27:3 Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
27:4 saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? You see to it!"
Judas Iscariot, who has realized his sin, does more fatal mistake by committing suicide, so he perishes forever. He should have come and begged for forgiveness to Jesus, so He would have forgiven him and he would have been saved.
Let us be watchful. Judas Iscariot is the servant of God, but he becomes evildoer, commits suicide, and perishes because of hearing the false teaching or the voice of chief priests and the elders.
If an evildoer willingly hears the true teaching word or the voice of Jesus although only once and confesses his sins, he will be saved.
Luke23:41-43
23:41 "And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."
23:42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."
23:43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."
The three proofs have proven that Jesus is sinless and without blemish, so He is worthy to become the Lamb of Passover. He redeems the sins of men or save the sinners through sacrificing Himself on the cross. Thus, the sacrifice of Christ is the base of love of God for men. It is the beginning love of God.
The sinful men must receive the beginning love of God through the sacrifice of Christ, so they will not perish but they will be safe and receive the eternal life.
The proofs of receiving the beginning love of Godare as follows:
- Faith.
We have faith or believe Jesus as the only savior that saves the sinful men. All things in this world such as wealth, knowledge, and greatness cannot save men, make them sinful. All men in the world such as prophet, apostle, priest, et ceteraare sinful men that cannot save themselves or others. We need Jesus as the only sinless man who is able to save us through being the lamb of Passover or sacrificing Himself on the cross for redeeming the sins of all men who believe in Him.
- Repentance.
Our heart believes and our mouth confesses means confessing the sin to God and others and stopping sinning. We die to sin. It starts from being set free from lie and hatred because Satan is the father of liars and haters.
- The water baptism.
The life that have believed in Jesus and repented or died to sin must be buried in water together with Jesus, so he comes out or rises from water together with Him and gets the new life.It is the heavenly life that is free from sin, hates the sin, and lives in righteousness.
- The Holy Spirit baptism or fullness of Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the baptizer of Holy Spirit. The pouring of Holy Spirit is described as the anointing oil in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, the pouring of Holy Spirit is the baptism from heaven with Jesus Himself as the baptizer.
Actually the pouring of Holy Spirit is only for Israel [Acts 2].
Acts10:44-45
10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Then, Holy Spirit is poured for the Gentiles by God's mercy. It happens because He knows the weakness of the Gentiles.
Thus, we, the Gentiles, must persevere in prayer, so the Holy Spirit will touch, anoint, and fill our life abundantly.
The results of being anointed by the Holy Spiritare as follows:
- Holy Spirit helps our fleshlyweakness as the Gentiles in facing the sin up to the peak. Without Holy Spirit, the Gentiles appear as the dog and sow which die spiritually and stink. If it continues, it leads to perdition in hell forever.
Romans8:13
8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
For that reason, God gives the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is able to put to death the sins, so we can live in righteousness and holiness as well as produce the sweet-smelling aroma and please God.
- Holy Spirit is able to help us to become strong and of good courage in facing all temptationsin every aspect even the impossible ones.
Without Holy Spirit, we will temptations and despair even leave God. For example, the widow of Zarephath despaired in economy problem.
1 Kings17:12-16
17:12 So she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die."
17:13 And Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.
17:14 "For thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth.'"
17:15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.
17:16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke by Elijah.
Holy Spirit makes us strong and of good courage. We can be honest and obedient to the word. As long as we are strong and of good courage, honest and obedient, we can face impossible problems.
Then, God will care us. He is able to create the thing that does not exist yet. He cares us in the midst of difficulties in the world up to the last days and the eternal life.
1 Kings17:17,23
17:17 Now it happened after these things that the son of the woman who owned the house became sick. And his sickness was so serious that there was no breath left in him.
17:23 And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said, "See, your son lives!"
- Holy Spirit helps us to pray and worship God.
The main fleshly weakness of the Gentiles is that they cannot pray and worship God without Holy Spirit.
Romans8:26-28
8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Holy Spirit is able to help us pray to God with broken heart, we feel unworthy and unable, until we can speak with the tongues.
Holy Spirit works together to bring the goodness in our life. The ruined things become good. The failure becomes successful and beautiful. When Jesus comes a second time, we are perfected as glorious as He is to greet His second coming on the glorious clouds.
God blesses us.
