Matthew 26:69-75is about
"Peter denied Jesus".
Peter denied Jesus three times as follows:
- verse 69-70: Peter denied Jesus of Galilee.
- verse 71-72: Peter denied Jesus of Nazareth.
- verse 73-75: Peter denied Jesus even he cursed and swore.
Ad. 1. Peter denied Jesus of Galilee.
Matthew 26:69-7026:69. Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, "You also were with Jesus of Galilee."
26:70 But he denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know what you are saying." Matthew 4:18-204:18. And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
4:19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
4:20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.Jesus called Peter by the Sea of Galilee to make him fishers of men.
Peter denied Jesus of Galilee = Peter denied the calling and election, meaning being unfaithful even leaving the service and ministry to the Lord.
Be alert! Peter, who was so great, could deny God, who are we compared with Him?
II Peter 1:10-111:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
1:11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The calling and election or the service and ministry are the FULL RIGHT to enter heavenly kingdom.
Thus, leaving the calling and election of God equals to leaving the service and ministry. Consequently, one loses the right to enter heavenly kingdom.
There are two evidences that the calling and election are important as follows:
- Matthew 4 is begun with Jesus’ fasting for forty days and forty nightsto defeat temptations and to call and elect Peter and his friends.
- Luke 6:12-13
6:12. Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
6:13 And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles:
Jesus prayed all nightin order to call Peter and his friends and to give them priests’ office as apostles.
The priest’s office or ministry is the full right to enter heavenly kingdom.
Therefore,
we have to pray and worship God much morein Prayer Service, fasting prayer, and all night prayer
to face these three things:
- Temptations. We can defeatall problems and temptations.
The temptations of the world will increase up to the ones in the days of antichrist’s reigning over the world.
- The tearing of flesh. We can receive the calling and election of God to serve Him.
- We have the tearing of flesh, so we will not deny the calling and election but we can minister God up to the end line and we can enter heavenly kingdom.
We watch in our worship prayer to God.
Only praying is not enough because the flesh lust is very strong nowadays and we have o tear it!
Just believe that our life is being made beautiful, not being tormented, in the service and ministry we do.
Matthew 4:18, 21-224:18.And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
4:21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,
4:22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.Jesus called four disciples by the Sea of Galilee, namely Peter, Andrew, James, and John, while there were five people there.
Meaning,
it is only THE MERCY OF GOD that we can be called and elected to serve Him.
Do not reject the calling and election of God!
Moreover, do not leave the ministry! Why did Jesus only call four people?Revelation 4:64:6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
There are four living creatures around the throne of God and in the world there are four disciples around Jesus.
Thus,
ourministry must be in line with the pattern of heavenly kingdom or Tabernacle, not according to the flesh.
If we have mercy to other people, we should not go out of the pattern of heavenly kingdom but we have to pray and give testimony for them to make them receive the calling of God.
Romans 14:1714:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. It is not only about other people but also about our own selves that we may not prioritize our flesh lust.
The service and ministry have no relationship with eating and drinking or physical matters but
RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, and JOY in the Holy Spirit.
- RIGHTEOUSNESSmeans as follows.
- We have to minister faithfully according to the Bible or the true teaching Word, including our outer appearance, ministry, marriage, and other things.
The bible is the commander or the rule for us to do our service and ministry.
- We have to live in righteousness in all aspects of our life.
- JOY in HOLY SPIRIT.
Holy Spirit gives us extra power to face all hindrances and threats so we never become disappointed or hopeless.
We always give thanks to God and we keep on serving and ministering Him.
- PEACE, meaning as follows.
- There is no enmity, bitterness or revenge, and envy in heart. All of them must be finished.
- There is no wickedness and uncleanness sins.
- There is no anxiety and doubt about any matter.
The process of having the peace is through having the humbleness and meekness characteristics.
- Humbleness is the ability to confess our sin, and we do not do it again after being forgiven.
- Meekness is the ability to receive the Word, no matter how hard it is.
If the sins are finished, we will receive peace.
The peace is a strong foundation to receive the power of God as follows.
- Power to make all things easy and light.
Matthew 11:29-30
11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
11:30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
- Power of victory over Satan the trinity.
Romans 16:20
16:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
God is able to solve all our problems, even the impossible one.
He makes all things good and beautiful in His time.
- Power of spiritual and physical preservation.
I Thessalonians 5:23
5:23. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are preserved physically in the midst of difficulties in the world with His miracles.
We are preserved spiritually through being renewed continually until we are perfect. It begins from OBEDIENCE.
Isaiah 48:18
48:18 Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
The peace will come to us abundantly as long as we can be obedient.
God blesses you.
