Speaker: Deacon Youpri ArdiantoroPeace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark 11:2-7
11:2 and He said to them, "Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colttied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.
11:3 And if anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord has need of it,' and immediately he will send it here."
11:4 So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it.
11:5 But some of those who stood there said to them, "What are you doing, loosing the colt?"
11:6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go.
11:7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it.The prophetic Word tells us about something that will happen.
This prophecy is about the colt. The colt is used by God on the way to Jerusalem.
Judges 15:16
15:16 Then Samson said: "With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of a donkeyI have slain a thousand men!"
The donkey refers to the Gentiles.
It is the prophecy that the Gentiles will be employed in the revival to New Jerusalem or the revival of the last rain or the building of the perfect body of Christ.
How is the condition of the Gentiles at the last days when He will come a second time? We learn from the church of the Laodiceans.
Revelation 3:17-18
3:17 Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked--
3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, thatthe shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
One of the conditions of the congregation of the Gentiles is being blind.
The meaning of the spiritual blindness is as follows:
- One forgets that his sin is forgiven. Thus he still lives in sin, keeps it, and sins up to the peak of sin.
2 Peter 1:9
1:9 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, thatthe shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
There are three kinds of sin that results in spiritual blindness as follows:
- The hatred sin.
1 John 2:11
2:11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
The hatred sin is one of the peaks of sins. It starts from hatred with reason. If it continues, it will become hatred without reason. For example, Joseph that is hated by his brothers without reason.
John 15:25
15:25 But this happenedthat the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'
For that reason, the hatred must be removed.
The things that we must do so we will not fall in hatred without reason are as follows:
- If we see other is employed or blessed by God, we should ask how to be employed or blessed by God and learn from him or her.
- Telling the truth.
Leviticus 19:17-18
19:17 'You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.
19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I amthe Lord.
The hatred is the same as blindness. If we can love each other, it is the proof that we are not blind. We do not repay evil for evil but repay good for evil.
- The bribe sin.
Exodus 23:8
23:8 And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the discerning and perverts the words of the righteous.
One who bribes and takes bribe is blind in spirituality.
- Serving with purpose to look for physical advantages.
Isaiah 56:9-12
56:9 All you beasts of the field, come to devour, all you beasts in the forest.
56:10 His watchmen areblind, they are all ignorant;they areall dumb dogs, they cannot bark;sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
56:11 Yes, they aregreedy dogswhichnever have enough. And they areshepherdswho cannot understand;they all look to their own way, every one for his own gain, from his ownterritory.
56:12 "Come," one says,"I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink;tomorrow will be as today, andmuch more abundant."
- One cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ means he cannot listen, understand, believe, and practice the true teaching Word.
2 Corinthians 4:4
4:4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
He cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ because of keeping the sin.
There are three kinds of the behavior of blind man as follows:
- Begging.
He cannot become blessing for others through deed and saying in his work and social life.
Luke 18:35
18:35 Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.
- Arrogance.
He touts about the physical things.
- Knowing nothing.
Especially he knows nothing about the teaching Word.
1 Timothy 6:3-4
6:3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, eventhe words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness,
6:4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions,
He teaches the doctrine which is not the word of Jesus. The word of Jesus is written in Bible and a verse explains another verse in Bible.
The life that knows nothing is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words and quarrel.
The results of being blind are as follows:
- One easily stumbles and becomes stumbling-block for others.
Isaiah 59:10
59:10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we hadno eyes;we stumble at noonday as at twilight;we areas dead menin desolate places.
- Falling into a ditch.
Matthew 15:14
15:14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."
God does not want the Gentiles to become blind. How does He help us?
Revelation 3:18
3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, thatthe shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
We must have oil so we may see.
John 9:6-7
9:6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
9:7 And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam"(which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
The process is God makes clay with the saliva; He anoints the eyes of the blind man with the clay, then he must wash in the pool of Siloam.
The oil means the process of making clay with the saliva until going to Siloam.
The saliva means something that comes out from the mouth of Jesus. It is the word of Jesus.
Colossians 3:16
3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
The word of Jesus means the teaching Word.
When the Word points to our condition, it is like the clay with the saliva is anointed on our eyes. After that, we go to Siloam. What we need is obedience. Then, the miracle will happen, our eyes can see.
One can see means as follows:
- One can confess the sin and stop sinning.
- One can hear, understand, believe and have faith until practice the true teaching Word. It means holding fast to the true teaching Word.
John 9:19-22,34
9:19 And they asked them, saying, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?"
9:20 His parents answered them and said, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
9:21 but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself."
9:22 His parents said these thingsbecause they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed thatHe wasChrist, he would be put out of the synagogue.
9:34 They answered and said to him, "You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?" And they cast him out.
The condition of the blind man is being rejected and put out of the synagogue until he is alone.
John 9:35
9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"
When one is alone, he meets Jesus who is alone.
Psalm 136:4
136:4 To Him who alone does great wonders, for His mercy enduresforever;
The result is Jesus alone does great wonders as follows:
- The power of creation from something that does not exist yet, the impossible becomes possible, the ruined things become good.
Psalm 136:5
136:5 To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, for His mercy enduresforever;
- The power of employment of God.
Psalm 136:10
136:10 To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn, for His mercy enduresforever;
- The power of caring from God.
Psalm 136:25
136:25 Who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever;
Let us be watchful. There is the life that is cast out because of sin. Leprosy refers to the life that keeps the sin of self-truth. It means annoying the work of God.
Numbers 12:15
12:15 So Miriam was shut out of the camp seven days, and the people did not journey till Miriam was brought in again.
Tonight, let us experience the miracles from God.
God blesses us.
