Exodus 13:21-22
13:21 And the Lordwent before them by day in a pillar of cloudto lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fireto give them light, so as to go by day and night.
13:22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night frombefore the people.
At the past time, God accompanied Israel by the pillar of cloud and fire until they entered the land of Canaan.
God also accompanies our life by the power of Holy Spirit until the end of age and we enter the New Jerusalem. The function of the pillar of cloud and fire is as follows:
- Looking for the place to pitch the tent or rest.
Numbers 9:17-22
9:17 Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents.
9:18 At the command of the Lordthe children of Israel would journey, and at the command of the Lordthey would camp; as long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped.
9:19 Even when the cloud continued long, many days above the tabernacle, the children of Israel kept the charge of the Lordand did not journey.
9:20 So it was, when the cloud was above the tabernacle a few days: according to the command of the Lordthey would remain encamped, and according to the command of the Lordthey would journey.
9:21 So it was, when the cloud remained only from evening until morning: when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they would journey; whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they would journey.
9:22 Whether it wastwo days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey.
Numbers 33:1
33:1 These arethe journeys of the children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
The meaning for us is our life is being led, anointed, fulfilled by Holy Spirit and we will experience the rest.
There are three kinds of Sabbath as follows:
- The small Sabbath. It is the time when we are fulfilled by Holy Spirit.
- The big Sabbath. It is a Thousand Years Kingdom of Peace.
- The eternal Sabbath. It is the New Jerusalem.
Matthew 11:28-30
11:28 Come to Me, all youwho labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find restfor your souls.
11:30 For My yoke iseasy and My burden is light.”
The target of rest is the life that labor and are heavy laden. Without the rest, that kind of life will not survive on the way to Kingdom of Heaven. The life will fall and never rise again until perdition.
Isaiah 40:29-31
40:29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who haveno might He increases strength.
40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall,
40:31 But those who wait on the Lordshall renew theirstrength;they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Hebrews 12:1
12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
The heavy burden is the burden because of sin.The sin becomes burden for men, starting from in this world until the judgment day and hell. Unfortunately, the men cannot free from sin. That is the reason why God calls our life to come to Him.
Luke 5:32
5:32 I have not come to call therighteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
God calls the sinners, so they can repent and free from the sin burden. The price of the calling is Jesus dies on the cross and His blood is poured to finish our sins.
Our attitude is we must come and be willing to finish the sins. The process to finish the sin is as follows:
- Confessing the sin to God and others. If we are forgiven, do not do the sin anymore.
- Through forgiving. We must forgive and forget the others’ sin.
The life that is led, anointed, and fulfilled by Holy Spirit, will easily finish the sin.
Isaiah 50:4
50:4 “The Lord Godhas given Methe tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speakaword in season to him who isweary. He awakens Me morning by morning,He awakens My earto hear as the learned.
The one who labors and is heavy laden is the life without the true teaching Word. If there is the Word, the life will have new spirit. The sign of the true teaching Word is being written in Bible (sixty six books) and revealed by God, a verse is explain by another verse.
Psalm 119:9
119:9 How can a young man cleanse his way?By taking heed according to Your word.
If we have the true teaching Word, we will be strong to do the things as follows:
- To keep our way clean and we are strong from sins.
- To face the temptation in all aspects of life. When we face the crisis, we are strong because we have the true teaching Word.
- To face the false teaching.
1 Kings 19:1,5,8
19:1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword.
19:5 Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise andeat.”
19:8 So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strengthof that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.
Elijah faces the false teaching from Jezebel, that allows women to teach and command the man. Elijah does not want to eat and becomes weak facing the false teaching. After Elijah eats two times (the true teaching Word that abounds in the revival of Holy Spirit at the last rain), he becomes strong to face the false teaching.
The life that is led, anointed, and fulfilled by Holy Spirit will not difficult to hold fast to one true teaching Word and practice it.
The way out in facing the one who labors and is heavy laden life is learning from Jesus. [Matthew 11:28-30]. The word ‘learning’ means we are not able yet. If there is the power of Holy Spirit, we will be able to do anything.
James 1:21
1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
The meeknessis the ability to receive the true teaching Word whatever risk may come.
The meeknessis also the ability to forgive.
The humilityis the ability to confess the sins.
The result is everything become easy and light. Our life, ministry, job, and marriage will be easy and light.
- The pillar of cloud and fire will lead to the land of promises.
Exodus 13:21
13:21 And the Lordwent before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
Psalm 77:20-21
77:20 Your way wasin the sea,Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps were not known.
77:21 You ledYour people like a flockby the hand of Moses and Aaron.
The word to lead means the experience in shepherding. The life that is led, anointed, and fulfilled by Holy Spirit will easily enter the right shepherding.
The sign of the right shepherding is as follows:
- Living in sheepfold or perseverance in committing three main services.
Jacob is fond of staying in tents. It means perseverance in committing three main services. On the contrary, Esau walks about the field and hunts the flesh.
Genesis 25:27
25:27 So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents.
- It is like donkey that is bound to the true vine which is the true teaching Word.
Genesis 49:11-12
49:11 Binding his donkey to the vine, and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine,he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes.
49:12 His eyes aredarker than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.
The donkey which is bound will be employed by Jesus in journey to Jerusalem. It means the life which is bound to the true teaching Word will be employed in the revival of Holy Spirit at the last rain until entering to the New Jerusalem.
The life which is bound to the Word is certainly being sanctified by God.
- Being obedient like the sheep following the shepherd. It is like Jacob obeying to his mother Rebekah.
John 10:5
10:5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
Genesis 27:14
27:14 And he went and got themand brought themto his mother, and his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.
We must obey whatever the risk may come. The result is Jacob gets the blessing and the birthright.
The birthright is the right to marry. It means we have the right to enter the marriage supper of the Lamb of God.
The birthrightalso means the inheritance right or our life may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
Romans 9:13
9:13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
The result of being shepherded is being loved by God. The result is as follows:
- No more question.
Mark 12:34
12:34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” But after that no one dared question Him.
- Experiencing the power of resurrection that is able to raise anything that has already been dead.
John 11:5
11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
- We are able love God more than anything and our fellow like our self.
1 John 4:19-21
4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
4:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God mustlove his brother also.
- The pillar of cloud and fire as cover to protect us from destruction.
Psalm 105:39
39He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
If there is Holy Spirit, our lives will never be destroyed. The things that will not perish are as follows:
- The cloths. It means we are faithful and fervent and never leave the ministry until Jesus comes a second time.
Deuteronomy 29:5
29:5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.
- The shod. It means our life is ready to serve God whatever the situation and condition.
Ephesians 6:15
6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
If there is Holy Spirit, we will always ready to serve and there will be no ministry that is too heavy to do.. We must always ready for no one knows the time of Jesus’ second coming. [Luke 12:43-48].
Revelation 19:7
19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
The character of the Bride of Heaven is always being ready. If there is the anointing of Holy Spirit, it will not difficult for us to be ready.
God blesses us.
