Revelation 13:5-613:5. And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.13:6. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.Verses 5-7 is about the state of the Antichrist.
Verse 5 is about Satan who gives the power to the Antichrist, so he has power in his mouth to boast, lie, speak ill of others, slander, and blaspheme. This is happens starting from now on until the peak when the Antichrist reigns over the world for three and a half years.
Bragging means speaking great things about the physical one to attract sympathy.
Verse 6 is about who is being blasphemed?
- God (it is explained in General Service in Malang, June 13, 2021).
- His name.
- His tabernacle (it is explained from Bible Study Service in Malang, June 08, 2021to Prayer Service in Malang, June 10, 2021).
- Those who dwell in Heaven (it is explained in Bible Study Service in Malang, June 15, 2021).
Tonight, we will learn about the Antichrist that blasphemes His name. It means taking the name of the Lord in vain.
Exodus 20:720:7. "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. The Antichrist's blaspheming the name of the Lord means breaking the third law in the two tablets of stone, so he receives the punishment from God in hell forever.
The true attitude of not blaspheming the name of the Lord is to depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:192:19. Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."To depart from iniquity is the same as the fear of the Lord.
Proverbs 3:73:7. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. So, we must take the name of the Lord with the fear of God or being obedient to Him in order not to become like the Antichrist. This is important. We do not become the prey of the Antichrist, especially we will not be like him.
There are two kinds of "fear" as follows:
- Fear in a negative way means the fear as the character of the flesh, so it makes us not fear the Lord.
When we do not fear the Lord, we will commit sins.
The example is King Saul.
1 Samuel 13:6,8-10,12-14
13:6. When the men of Israel saw that they were in danger (for the people were distressed), then the people hid in caves, in thickets, in rocks, in holes, and in pits.
13:8.Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
13:9. So Saul said, "Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me." And he offered the burnt offering.
13:10. Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
13:12. then I said, 'The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.' Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering."
13:13. And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
13:14. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you."
1 Samuel 28:5-7
28:5. When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
28:6. And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.
28:7. Then Saul said to his servants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her." And his servants said to him, "In fact, there is a woman who is a medium at En Dor."
Saul was afraid to the Philistines, so he acted according to his own thoughts, feelings, and desires which were not in line with the command of God. He did not fear the Lord. He did not obey Him; even he went to a medium or an idol worshiper.
It is the same as taking the name of the Lord in vain or blaspheming His name.
Be careful! We often commit sin but then we pray to God. It is the same as taking His name in vain.
As a result, our prayers are not answered by God. Instead, the punishment of God comes as follows:
- Experiencing the persecution of the Antichrist.
1 Samuel 31: 9
31:9. And they cut off his headand stripped off his armor, and sent word throughout the land of the Philistines, to proclaim it in the temple of their idols and among the people.
This is the chance to prove whether one has the fear the Lord or not. Having the fear of the Lord, he will be tortured until being beheaded because he keeps on worshiping Him and calling His name with the fear of Him.
- Becoming like the Antichrist or blaspheming His name, one will lose the Kingdom of Heaven forever.
- Fear in a positive way means the fear of the Lord. This is the character of Jesus. The spirit of the fear of the Lord is the superiority of Jesus compared to Satan.
When we have the fear of the Lord, we will be obedient.
The example is Jonathan.
1 Samuel 14: 6
14:6. Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few."
Jonathan was not afraid to have war against the Philistines, but he feared the Lord.
For us now, it is the same as not being afraid of experiencing the cross.
By experiencing the cross, we have the fear of the Lord. It means that we rely on Him and call Him with the fear of Him.
Whatever our enemy is, let us fight by relying on God, and we will surely win.
Revelation 6:1-26:1. Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see."6:2. And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crownwas given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. This is the beginning of the revival of the white horse or edifying the body of Christ.
Revelation 19: 11-1219:11. Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.19:12. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. This is the end of the revival of the white horse.
'many crowns'means always winning.
It means that when we fight with Jesus, we will always win, both in spiritual battle (the revival against Satan or sins) and physical one (economy, and so on).
Why do we keep on winning when we are with Jesus? It is because He has been obedient to the point of death on the cross to receive the powerful name to defeat the trinity of Satan.
Philippians 2:8-112:8. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.2:9. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,2:10. that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven(Satan), and of those on earth(the false prophet), and of those under the earth(the Antichrist),2:11. and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The fact found in fighting with Jesus is by calling His name with the fear of the Lord or worshiping Him, so we will experience the power of His name.
Consequently, the results are as follows:
- Verse 10 = The power of His name gives us the victory over the trinity of Satan.
Satan is the source of sins up to the peak. Let us call His name when there is sin and we will win. So, we can live in righteousness and holiness.
The false prophet is the source of falsity, lies, or seduction in all fields, including the false teaching. We keep on hoping to God, so we are not easily provoked. We keep on holding fast the true teaching Word.
The Antichrist is the source of the trials in economy, diseases, and so on. Everything will be solved by God.
- The power of His name is able to sanctify us from the characters of the Gentiles, especially worries.
Isaiah 4:1
4:1. And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, "We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel; only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach."
The character of the Gentiles is to worry about what to eat or the future, so they cannot be faithful and righteous.
When we are sanctified, we will become faithful and righteous servants of God in marriage and shepherding until the end line. We can give to the works of God and to others who are in need, or we are no longer stingy and greedy.
When we are willing to be sanctified, the power of His name will preserve our life that is small and powerless in the midst of the difficulties in the world up to the time when the Antichrist rules over the earth.
- The power of His name is able to renew us, starting from the true tongue.
Philippians 2:11
3:11. and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We become the house of prayer, and the miracles happen. The failed things become successful and beautiful, and the impossible ones become possible.
When Jesus comes, we will be renewed to be as perfect as Him and worthy to welcome His second coming on the glorious clouds. We do not stumble in words, but we call His name only. We will enter the One-Thousand-Year Kingdom of Peace or coming Paradise and the New Jerusalem forever.
Do not call the name of the Lord in vain, namely with disobedience.
Call His name with the fear of the Lord! We will fight with Jesus and we will always win up to the last victory, until we sit beside Him on the throne of Heaven forever.
God blesses us.
