Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew25:1-8
25:1 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 25:2 "Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 25:3 "Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 25:4 "but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 25:5 "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 25:6 "And at midnighta cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' 25:7 "Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 25:8 "And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'"Midnight"refers to the condition of the world at the darkest and the most difficult, evil, and unclean time. It also refers to the time which is approaching the second coming of Jesus.
We must be watchful so our lamp will not be quenched
. Our lamp must be burnt always.
There are
three meanings of the burning lampas follows:
- We always watch the prophetic or teaching word, so we can be strong and of good courage. We are not doubted by gossips and the false teaching. We do not getbored in hearing the teaching word.
2 Peter1:19
1:19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
We will experience the light of life renewal. It starts from being honest and true.
The matter of the lamp's almost going out means that one gets bored or feels sleepy when hearing the word. It continues to refusing the word and falling from faith. In such condition, the lamp has already gone out.
- The lamp keeps on burningif it is put on a lampstand or the appropriate place.
Matthew5:15
5:15 "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Mark 4:21
4:21 Also He said to them, "Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?
It means that we must watch the structure and obligation in marriage and household.
- Husband is the head of wife and children. He is the decision maker according to the word for physical and spiritual things. He must love his wife as he loves himself and does not do bitterly toward her.
- Wife is the body or the rib to protect the weak part of her husband and children through worship prayer. She must obey her husband in everything.
- Children are the members of the body to lighten the burden of parents. The children obey parents.
Then, the household has the burning lamp to face two things as follows:
- The darkness of basket or the economy problem, the sin of eating-drinking (smoking, being drunk, and drugs abuse).
- The darkness of bed or the uncleanness sin and the sin of marrying-being given in marriage.
The lamp almost goes out if the structure in marriage is not right or the members of the household do not do the obligation but asking the right, so they will judge each other.
- The ministry of the bride in holiness and faithfulness.
Matthew25:1
25:1 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
The matter of the lamp's almost going out is signified by unholiness, evil, uncleanness, bitterness, and unfaithfulness.
Why does the lamp almost go out? It is because of not having the reserve oil. One depends on the flesh with its the intelligence, riches, and knowledge, but without Holy Spirit.
The condition is like the five foolish virgins who did not have the reserve oil or a widow who only had a jar of oil.
2 Kings4:1-7
4:1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves."
4:2 So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil."
4:3 Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors--empty vessels; do not gather just a few.
4:4 "And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones."
4:5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out.
4:6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased.
4:7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."The widow refers to one who is separated from the husband, the head, or Jesus. It means that one cannot worship God, but lacks in spirit for doing the ministry.
The result is the atmosphere in weariness, heavy burden, tears, disappointment, despair, and something which has not finished yet, especially the debt of sin. It is like the younger son in the field of swine. It means that the lamp is quenched.
2 Kings4:4
4:4 "And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones."
Matthew6:6
6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
The solution is thatwe must close the door a lot. It means that we worship God and admit everything that is wrong.
The worship prayer is the personal connection with God. We trust and entrust our self fully to God.
God will stretch out the hand of Holy Spirit to anoint, fulfill, and overflow in us to become the reserve oil to make the lamp keep on burning. Everything is solved by God. The lost will be found just like the younger son. The dead will be resurrected. The failure is changed into success and beauty. The impossible problems become possible.
2 Kings4:7
4:7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."Holy Spirit is able to care our life in the midst of difficulties in the impossible world. He is able to give the happiness. Holy Spirit is able to change our life to become perfect and flawless as Jesus is.
God blesses us.
