Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 16:8-9
16:8. Then the fourth angelpoured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire.
16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of Godwho has power over these plagues; and they did not repentand give Him glory.
The fourth bowl was poured on the sun to become fire to scorch men (it is explained in Bible Study Service in Malang, May 19, 2022).
Verse 9 = men did not repent, but blasphemed the name of God when the fourth bowl was poured, so they had to be destroyed in fire of the hell forever.
There are five things that are punished by the scorching fire as follows:
- The sins up to the peak like Sodom and Gomorrah.
- The servants of God who minister to Him with the profane fire like Nadab and Abihu.
- The people who yield to intense craving or the mixed multitude who always remembered Egypt and loathed manna.
- The people who leave the ministry.
- The people who like to oppress others.
ad. 4.
Jeremiah 2:132:13. "For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns--broken cisternsthat can hold no water.
'
broken cisterns'= dry pool.
The matter of the servants of God's leaving Him has happened since the days of the Israelites.
The Israelites committed evil things twice as follows:
- Leaving God as the source of living water or the true teaching Word.
Hebrews 10:25-27
10:25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the mannerof some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
10:26 For if we sin willfullyafter we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
10:27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
On the last days, when Jesus will come a second time, unfaithfulness in the true service and ministry to God happen again and it is not supposed as a sin because it has become a habit. If it continues, one will leave the service and ministry to God although actually he has the chance.
He deliberately does not serve and minister to God. It is the same as rebellion and there is no remission of sin anymore.
- Digging the broken cistern or the dry one which cannot hold water.
2 Peter 2:17-22
2:17.These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.
2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
2:20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
2:21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
2:22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dogreturns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."
It means leaving the true service and ministry to God and looking for the false teachers with the false teachings. It is the same as the false service and ministry that are without the true teaching Word. Such service and ministry are dry. Without the true teaching Word, one cannot be set free from sins, so the quality is like the dog and swine. It means living in sins up to the peak, from heart to the words.
Why does one leave the true teaching Word? It is because he is not patient and cannot stand in the true and hard teaching Word.
2 Timothy 4:2-4
4:2. Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4:4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
The true teaching Word is useful for sanctifying sins up to the peak.
Being impatient, one goes to the false teachers for satisfying the lusts of the flesh and ears until the spirituality sleeps or there is no spiritual revival. Consequently, he is left behind when Jesus comes a second time like the five foolish virgins, so he gets the scorching fire from the world to the hell forever.
Hebrews 10:27
10:27. but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
2 Peter 2:17
2:17. These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
2 Timothy 4:54:5. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Therefore, on the last days, we must try hard for the following things:
- 'be watchful in all things'= controlling the flesh with all of its lusts and desires.
1 Peter 4:7
4:7. But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
If we control our flesh, we will be quiet. It means as follows:
- Being shepherded well and correctly. We always dwell in the sheepfold or the perseverance in committing the three main services to God.
- Holding fast and obeying the true teaching Word that is repeated or the Shepherding Word. It is able to grow our spirituality.
The more we grow up, the more we keep silent. We pray and worship God much more.
- 'do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry'= being faithful and fervent in spirit in the service and ministry to God according to the ministry which God has entrusted to us until the end line.
- 'endure afflictions'= suffering because of Jesus or the sprinkling of blood.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
4:16. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewedday by day.
4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
We get the sprinkling of blood, so we have the renewal of life from the fleshly men to the spiritual ones like Jesus is. It begins from being strong and of good courage, namely honesty.
The beginning of honesty is about the true teaching Word.
Titus 2:7
2:7. in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,
Afterwards, we must be honest in our saying.
Hebrews 13:4-6
13:4. Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
13:6 So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
We must also be honest about the marriage and household, namely the husband must love the wife, the wife must submit to the husband, and the children must obey the parents, including maintaining the holiness of the marriage.
Verse 5 = the honesty about finance, namely returning the possession of God. There is possession of God in the blessings we have received, namely the tithes and offerings. There is also the possession of other people who are in need. The rest is the trust of God to us that we may enjoy it honestly, not for being extravagant.
Being honest about God, marriage, and finance, there will be the hope for being honest in all things and becoming pattern in doing good things until repaying good for evil.
God will never leave us. It means that God pays attention to, care for, and struggle for helping us (verse 6).
The results are as follows:
- God as the Great Shepherd stretches out His merciful hands for helping the sheep, namely protecting and preserving the powerless sheep in the midst of the difficulties in the world up to the time when the Antichrist reigns over the world.
Ezekiel 34:22
34:22 "therefore I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
He also separates the fat and the thin.
Ezekiel 34:20-21
34:20. 'Therefore thus says the Lord GOD to them: "Behold, I Myself will judge between the fat and the lean sheep.
34:21 "Because you have pushed with side and shoulder, butted all the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad,
The fat refer to ones who are egoistic, whose belly is the god. The service and ministry are only to look for the worldly things. There are no responsibility and obedience in the service and ministry to God. They are the same as the Antichrist.
The thin refer to ones who always need God, namely looking for the spiritual food as well as being faithful and obedient.
- God as the High Priest helps us in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14,16
4:14. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 2:17-18
2:17. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
He also sanctifies us from our sins, so we have the peaceful heart.
He finishes all impossible problems.
- God as the King changes us until we do not stumble in words.
Psalm 5:2-6
5:2. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.
5:3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.
5:4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.
5:5 The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.
5:6 You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
We become the heavenly bride who is ready to welcome His second coming. We shout for joy, saying "Alleluia". We enter the marriage supper of the Lamb, the One-Thousand-Year Kingdom of Peace or the upcoming Paradise, and the New Jerusalem or the last sheepfold forever.
God blesses you.
