Mark 9:33-37
9:33 Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, “What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?”
9:34 But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be thegreatest.
9:35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
9:36 Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them,
9:37 “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.”
There are a lot of people who want to be big, proud in physical and spiritual things through the wrong ways which are quarrel, slander, gossiping, et cetera. Those ways displease God so He rebukes. There are three exhortations from God so we can be big, as follows:
We are learning the second one that is becoming servant of all.
Luke 12:35-38
12:35 “Let your waist be girded and yourlamps burning;
12:36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.
12:37 Blessed arethose servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat,and will come and serve them.
12:38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find themso, blessed are those servants.
One who experiences the lifting up is the servant who is watchful. There are three things that must be watched as follows:
God blesses us.

- The belt on the waist.
Isaiah 11:5
11:5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist.
The meaning is faithfulness in one true teaching Word that is the one that is written in Bible and revealed by God (a verse explains another verse in Bible).
Jeremiah 13:1-4, 11, 10
13:1 Thus the Lordsaid to me: “Go and get yourself a linen sash, and put it around your waist, but do not put it in water.”
13:2 So I got a sash according to the word of the Lord, and put itaround my waist.
13:3 And the word of the Lordcame to me the second time, saying,
13:4 “Take the sash that you acquired, which isaround your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole in the rock.”
13:11 For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’
13:10 This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing.
If one does not hold fast to the true teaching Word, he will become the useless life. - A lamp that always gives light.
Matthew 5:15-16
5:15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who arein the house.
5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
The function of the lamp is lighting starts from marriage. Becoming light means doing the right and good deed.
Matthew 25:4-5, 10
25:4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
In order that the lamp keeps burning, we need the abundant oil. We get it from squeezing the flesh or willingness to suffer because of Jesus.
To greet Jesus’ second coming, we must have quality of a chaste virgin which is the life that is redeemed by the blood of Jesus, experiencing the purification, and holding fast to the true teaching Word.
2 Corinthians 11:2-4
11:2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you asa chaste virgin to Christ.
11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or ifyou receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!
If we let out the true teaching Word, we lose the virginity/purity.
There are three causes of the lamp is quenched as follows:- A basket refers to the physical things or economy.
If we have something false in physical things, it will quench the lamp. - Bed refers to marriage.
The false marriage can quench the lamp. - Bitterness.
Revelation 8:10-11
8:10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
8:11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
There are three kinds of bitterness as follows:- The bitterness of heart, envy because of blessing or the employment of God, et ceterato others.
James 3:14
3:14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. - Bitter saying.
James 3:10-11
3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
3:11 Does a spring send forth fresh waterand bitter from the same opening?I - Bitter.
Colossians 3:19
3:19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
The bitter deed happens when husband becomes bitter to the wife, or the wife disobeys the husband, and children disobey the parents.
- The bitterness of heart, envy because of blessing or the employment of God, et ceterato others.
15:8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?
15:9 And when she has found it,she calls herfriends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’
The function of the lamp is to find the lost coin. It means God will return everything that is lost in our life (economy, health, future, et cetera). If we live in light and become a lamp that lights, God will be able to recover us until we can greet His second coming. - A basket refers to the physical things or economy.
- Being watchful for Jesus’ second coming.
There are two times of His coming, namely at midnight and cock crow [Luke 12:38].
Midnight refers to the darkest time when the sin increase up to the peak that is the sin of eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage. The things that we must watch at midnight are as follows:- There must be the blood on the door.
Exodus 12:23, 29
12:23 For the Lordwill pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lordwill pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
12:29 And it came to pass at midnight that the Lordstruck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who wasin the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock.
It means there must be the blood of Jesus on the door of heart so we can repent, stop sinning and return to God. If we do not repent, the things that we are proud of will die. - Listening to the Bride Tidings.
Matthew 25:6
25:6 “And at midnight a cry was heard:‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’
Luke 12:37-38

The result of being watchful is joy because God guarantees our need physically and we can greet His second coming.
Revelation 3:19-21
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
3:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Until we sit on the throne of God together with Him forever. - There must be the blood on the door.
God blesses us.
