Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew6:17
6:17 "But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
The signs of the true fasting prayer are as follows:
- "Anoint your head" refers to mind purification by Holy Spirit.
- "Wash your face"refers to heart purification by the power of the Word.
Thus, the true fasting prayer gives the big opportunity to the Word of God in the anointing of Holy Spirit to purify our heart and mind. It also gives the big opportunity to God to examine our heart and mind. Psalm26:2
26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
The prayer from King David is that God always examines the heart and mind.
The results are as follows:
- God guides us in the true way oflife, so we will not stray, get lost, stumble, nor fall.
Psalm139:23-24
139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
139:24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
- Right and good saying as well as testimony that brings blessing for others. There are no more lie, gossip, and slander.
Psalm17:3
17:3 You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and have found nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
James3:3-4
3:3 Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.
3:4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
The tongue is a very small rudder that determines the direction and the captain of our life.
If the tongue is good, the captain is God that leads to the beautiful and successful future up to the New Jerusalem.
If the tongue is not good, the captain is Satan that leads to Babylon or the peak of evil and uncleanness.
- Our eyes see the lovingkindness of God. We worship Him. We see His face, surrender our life, and cry out to Him.
Psalm26:2-3
26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
26:3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth.
The examples are as follows:
2 Chronicles20:1-3,12
20:1 It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat. 20:2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar" (which is En Gedi). 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 20:12 "O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."Our eyes must see God whatever we may face.
Jehoshaphat and his people were unable to face the impossible problem. The matter of God's allowingus to experience the problem like Jehoshaphatmeans that He wants us to experience purification of the heart and mind.
2 Chronicles20:20-22
20:20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper." 20:21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: "Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever." 20:22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
Our eyes see God, our mouth worships. glorifies, and cries out His name, and our hands surrender through the worship prayer and fasting.
As a result, the lovingkindness of God will fight instead of us, so the great army becomes dead bodies. All impossible problems are finished by the lovingkindness of God.
2 Chronicles20:24
20:24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.Revelation21:8
21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
The life that is fearful must be changed to have the fear of the Lord. 2 Chronicles20:7
20:7 "Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?
Abraham has the fear of the Lord and obedience until the flesh does not sound anymore.
The physical miracle also happens. God is able to create something that does not exist yet and make the impossible thing possible. We are changed to become as glorious as Jesus when He comes a second time. Our eyes will see Him face to face forever.
God blesses us.
