Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

James 5:16-18
5:16. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
5:17. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
5:18. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

The prayer of Elijah is the one that pleases God or the one that is answered by God.
The requirements are as follows:

  1. The prayer of a righteous man.
    Romans 3:23
3:23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

In fact, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, so we are naked and unjust.
Consequently, we are far from God. It is the same as becoming the ruined altar. It means experiencing spiritual dryness and being unable to pray.

    Romans 3:24-25
3:24. being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
3:25. whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

The sinners have been justified by the redemption that is in Christ Jesus or the reconciliation by the blood of Jesus.
Jesus is the only innocent man. He has to die on the cross to save the sinners.

The process of reconciliation by the blood of Jesus is confessing and forgiving one another.
We confess our sin to God (vertical) and others (horizontal). Do not sin anymore after being forgiven!
We also forgive others' sin and forget it.

As a result, the blood of Jesus takes away the sins, so we are justified and live in righteousness.
If we live in righteousness, we will experience peace.

    1 Kings 18:30
18:30. Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me." So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.

Beware of self-truth! The self-truth means covering the nakedness with fig leaves or covering sin by blaming others, the Word, and God, until one gets the second death in the hell.

  2. Praying confidently and earnestly.
Confidence means that we hear, believe, and understand the true word in the anointing of Holy Spirit, so it becomes faith in our heart. As a result, our prayer will be answered by God.

    John 15:7
15:7. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

We are still in the test of faith like Abraham if our prayer has not been answered yet.

    Romans 4:19-21
4:19. And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb.
4:20. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
4:21. and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

In the test of faith we must keep on believing in the true word and the power of God that is able to fulfill His promise.
Keep on believing in God although we see the impossible thing! It is the perfect faith.
    Do not be in doubt!

If we are doubtful, we will not be quiet. Consequently, we cannot pray. We do not get anything but being drowned or there is no help.

    Earnestness= perseverance.
    1 Kings 18:42-44
18:42. So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,
18:43. and said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked, and said, "There is nothing." And seven times he said, "Go again."
18:44. Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.'"

    Seven times refers to perfection.
We persevere up to the perfect perseverance and our prayer is answered by God. We are in the test of perseverance when our prayer has not been answered yet.

The result is a cloud, as small as a man's hand (from nothing to something).
A cloud, as small as a man's hand means that God is fulfilling His great promise with His hand of great mercy although it is just a small sign that means nothing for men.

  3. Crying out the name of Jesus from the depth of the pure heart.
    1 Kings 18:36-39
18:36. And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word.
18:37. "Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again."
18:38. Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.
18:39. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, "The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!"

The word in the anointing of Holy Spirit is able to purify us up to the depth of the heart from the sins of wickedness, uncleanness, and bitterness, so we can cry out the name of Jesus. We surrender our life and strethch out our hand to Him.

The results are as follows:

  1. God's hand of great mercy is able to give the heavy rain, so the earth produces its fruit.
    1 Kings 18:45
18:45. Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.

    James 5:18
5:18. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

It means that God's hand of great mercy is able to change us from fleshly men to spiritual ones like Jesus. We become obedient until our flesh does not sound anymore.

    James 5:16
5:16. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

If spiritual miracle happens, the physical one will too. There are the healing power and the power to take away all impossibilities. All impossible problems are finished. We have beautiful and successful future.

Disobedience means being failed and in vain.
Adam and Eve were driven out of Eden because of disobedience.

  2. God's hand of great mercy is able to take care of our life now in the middle of the big difficulties in the world up to the age of antichrist.
    James 5:17
5:17. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.

We will be evacuated and taken care of in the wilderness by the word and Holy Communion until we are changed to become as perfect as Jesus is when He comes a second time. We are worthy to greet Him on the glorious clouds. We return to Paradise and enter the eternal New Jerusalem.

God blesses us.
